the day after I posted this last time I was notified that I was selected for a really cool mentorship gig and got an unrelated glowing review at work

Not to be dramatic but I’m never opening up or being vulnerable again. It’s hard and I’m tired and it makes me feel like a burden I’d rather feel like shit than feel like shit and a fucking burden.

Speaking of #tw blasphemy, one time I saw a T*RF refer to top surgery as "iconoclasm against The Divine Feminine" and I was honestly so upset that I hadn't thought of it first. That's so cool.

how can someone feel so much and feel so empty at the same time?

everything everywhere all at once is about intergenerational trauma. about depression and passive suicidality and the gravitational appeal of nothingness. about aging, getting older in your twenties and getting older in your fifties. about the specific hurt mothers can cause their daughters and daughters their mothers. about the harsh reality of the immigrant experience and the american dream. but it’s mostly about kindness and family and it’s about choosing to sit at home talking about taxes with someone who loves you, and it’s about telling your daughter that you’d choose her over the entire universe, and it’s about how even in the universes where life didn’t form, love can still exist. and it’s really all of that at once.

there's this trend in popular shows lately to have an intelligent but toxic, burnt out, cynical and substance abusing male in his 40s-50s be the protagonist (vide Rick and Morty, vide Bojack Horseman). I think we, millennials and zoomers, see ourselves in those people, or perhaps they're an answer to our "daddy issues", or perhaps a response to the "end of history" era and the planet being in crisis. hell itself knows. I'd like to explore that motif
