Little Joan needs surgery!!!
Joan Al-Habil is has been repeatedly hospitalized due to severe gastrointestinal problems and overwhelming fatigue. This poor girl has been to multiple facilities and seen multiple doctors, undergone extensive testing (as extensive as is possible in Gazaโs collapsed medical system), even having to endure an unsedated endoscopy, which I know from personal experience is extremely uncomfortable.
She has now been diagnosed with severe gastritis due to starvation and hazardous living conditions. Remember, she and her family are living on the streets, which are cold and wet due to winter rain. Homelessness, stress, exposure to the elements, her previous injury when the IOF firebombed her tent, and malnutrition all conspire to sap little Joan of her strength.
Her condition is so serious that she now requires surgery. Gastritis very rarely requires surgery to treat, so this is an indication of how dire her situation is. In addition to surgery, she is going to need treatment to manage her symptoms.
The cost of this is very very high. One consultation alone cost $650 USD. Joanโs family is going to need your support to pay for her treatment.
Please, this little girl is in so much pain and misery. Her parents are watching her waste away as her condition worsens daily.

morally grey/evil scientist characters are always like biochemical engineers or nuclear physicists or whatever but the people want VARIETY give me a story about a fucked up geologist for once
The thing that got me into science was completely missing my registration deadline my sophomore year of college and having to sign up for whatever was available, which happened to be a geology class. The professor was a contagiously enthusiastic woman who dressed like a mash-up between Dolly Parton and Mrs. Frizzle, who told stories like the one about the time where she was on her way to a formal dinner date with a guy (the kind of thing where you make reservations ahead of time) and saw an outcrop of garnet mica schist on the side of the road, so she had her date stop the car so she could go examine it, IN HEELS and then asked her date if she could carry samples in his car (there was no second date)
and the other time when traffic was stopped on the interstate and she was next to a road cut between high cliffs (iโve seen the place she was talking about itโs fucking Hazardous) so she got out of her car and started CLIMBING THE CLIFFSIDE and a cop told her to get down and she was like โoh trust me im a geologistโ
