Dance, Long-Eared Beasts!

“Begone. This being is on break… I will end the light of your days…” A quick glare from both her and said plushies.

“Oh, umm… I-I’m not really a shadow, like I said, I’m a shapeshifter, and-…”

Before Eri could finish, he noted the lion falling and…

“… Miss Krila, look out…!”

Turning back to himself, Eri quickly pushed the girl aside, in attempt to avoid the lion…!

“T-That was quite dangerous…! A-Are your performances usually like this?”

The girl falls onto the ground and thankfully, safely out of harms way of the big lion. It even caused a small explosion. It reverts back to a normal size, and runs over to its master apologetically. She then rolls weakly to her side, after what had happened had finally registered in her mind.

“Perhaps...” She says with a disheartened tone. Usually they don’t wind up as a disaster like this. Well, usually.

“This one performs adequately well... worthy of theatre. But... a Krilalaris’ fate is a cruel one. My apologies... I can see the darkness of the void...”

Ah, so she’s a stage performer then! That’s… actually really, really interesting! And the girl is around his age too! At least he has someone around his age… right?

But that declaration from the girl DID shock him, and… just like that, the lion become to…

Increase… in… size…

“N-No, Miss! Nothing like that…! I-It’s not very impressive… I could only turn into other people, like… umm..”

He’s just going to look around to try to make her understand, and… well… he’s just going to quickly turn into the girl herself.

“L-Like that… I couldn’t change my size or anything, s-so please stop asking your lion to grow any more than usual-… Or else it would destroy something if it keeps growing too much…”

“?! I-It’s.. my shadow!” Perhaps shocking the girl who’s growing the lion so intensely wasn’t the best idea, as it continued to grow in the air without her at all focused on it at this point. It really was just a second nature.

But then with a loud crack like thunder, the lion looks pained and then collapses, along with the performer herself. A lion bigger than man, quick to rise and fall, maybe there’s some sort of ironic performance beauty in that.

..But the lion is falling on them both. 

“The mind of the… Krila… kril… K-..”

Goodness, it’s really hard to say that word. Still, her name is… Krilalaris…? Apparently? Probably. She speaks strange, but she’s most likely a good person!

“But ah, I see… are you a stage performer, Miss? I wish I had something like that… as for me, I’m a kitsune, a shapeshifter… I really do wish I could make my dolls talk like you do…”

“Krila. Call this one Krila.”

“Ah yes.... something like that.” Her expression seems to sink when they brought up seemingly the right profession she has. 

“Cease!” She startles the rabbit plush. Apparently something the fox said caught her attention. “You mean.. like this-?”

It’s subtle at first, but the lion plush would begin to grow. And then rapidly, and then it would begin floating from her hand and becoming ginormous... it was about the size of a full-grown adult person by this point!

“T-That’s really cute! I didn’t know the bunny could talk! And I’m sure the lion could talk sooner or later too!”

This is so amazing! He did see flying dolls before, but to see stuffed animals like this talk is quite a treat!

“So, umm… for the longest time, Miss? Does that mean… you made them on your own? You’re really talented… Does that mean you’re a doll maker?”

“...?! I-I am grateful, although, ...even the mind of this Krilalaris cannot fathom it. Indeed I make them, or rather reconstruct, however-”

“Yes, I love keeping him when I was small… And even now… He’s a nice alligator when I’m sleeping!”

“But… your doll seems to talk, though… A-Are you a puppeteer?”

“No, no... this one does as he will. I’ve had him and this lion for as long as I can recall.” It’s a lion? It gives the other a little wave with its paw though-

“Easter is nearly here!”

“...”

“That almost evaded Krila’s memory. I hope you get a good bounty this time around.”
