Random little character design!!

My dad has more guns than forks. The only thing he has more than guns is guitars. He’s an actual hunter, though not in his older age. When I was a child one of the first things I bought with my own money was a musket ball. I know how to shoot and I know all about the constitutional right to bear arms. I simply don’t have a gun because of where I live. 

Celeste is very devious. I kind of picture her personality like Handsome Jack from Borderlands–just the right balance of humor and crazy. Not quite like the Joker though. Lighting is fun. :3 This was actually based on a traditional sketch I did when I was first getting a feel for the character. This also isn’t my usual coloring style but I think it fits the mood I was going for, very jagged, mixed with the cold green lighting. It’s little things like that that affect the mood and feel of drawing. For instance, warm lighting and softer shading, maybe a slight blur gives off a nicer feeling, where as something cold and dark, kind of rough, gives off a sense of dread (at least for me) and I think those are really useful things you can incorporate in a drawing to evoke a particular emotion from just glancing at the picture. That’s just a little bit of advice. I could talk about lighting all day, it’s my favorite.
