To say Ratatosk was in a bad mood would be an understatement. While he wasn’t often the happiest, it was rare for him to be in such a foul mood- but given the circumstances, it was hard to blame him for it. After all, he’d put so much effort into breaking free of that damn facility- only to get glitched into this place, filled with monsters and abominations that would’ve suited that damn scientist’s experiments.

He’d picked up a metal pipe at some point, a better weapon than that worthless wooden sword- and was just now coming across another person. 

✿        she’s been at the receiving end of short patience time and time again, and yet its been long enough to make the bite sting a little more than she’d like. when had her skin grown so thin? maybe instead of growing a protective hide, it’d been broken down. 

“a problem? a fight? no!”

“i’m– i’m not looking for anything of the sort! i promise!”

“Tch.” He’d maybe jumped the gun a little- she seemed genuine enough in not wanting a fight, and that now put him in an awkward situation. He didn’t exactly want to go around broadcasting himself, and Emil didn’t want the potential attention or risk... so what now? Damnit, he wasn’t the mediator, but he couldn’t just drop Emil into this situation without a clue of what was going on.

“Ya got a problem with me, or somethin’?” Ratatosk would come out most often when Emil was too stressed out- and with everything that had been going on, this occasion was no different. Or, well... it was a little different, considering there was no battles to fight or anything. Stupid- he wasn’t exactly a people person.

“I-I’m sorry!” The apology was pure reflex, Emil quickly taking a step back from the other. He’d been nowhere near her- but the words just kinda spilled out before he could think. “E-Er, um... sorry. I was just.... ah... where’d you get that drink? I’m, uh... new around here, um...”

A knight’s uniform- finally, Emil found himself looking at something at least somewhat familiar. Of course, Ratatosk could find reason to complain... but Emil was choosing to ignore him. At least for now. What harm would it do to talk to him? If things went bad, then Ratatosk could get them out of it.

‘Oh yeah, real nice of ya to rely on me only when things get rough-’

Ignoring the other voice wasn’t too hard, Emil making his way up to the other and doing his best to not sound... well... scared. Even if he was.

“H-Huh..?” When Emil came too, he was standing someplace he didn’t recognize. Not only that, but he couldn’t see Marta or Cress or Mint anywhere- and his stuff was gone too?! His sword was just wooden now, and he’d somehow managed to lose his vision orb.... oh boy.
