Witch of Death?

“What happens if a Goomba bumps into you afterward?”

“Then of course, you’re to beat it up for being so rude as to do that.”

Sakuya wasn’t sure what to do in this situation. She didn’t want to apologize again as that seemed to get both of them nowhere. She figured that it would be best to leave Alice alone. It’s not like she can do much to help her feel better anyway.

“Very well then. Just, don’t beat yourself up about this okay? Once again I’m sorry for my actions.” She apologized. Damn it. “I hope you can recover from this soon.”

“Thank you.” Stepping further away from Sakuya, Alice considered what else she could possibly say in this awkward situation.

She couldn’t really think of anything.

“...Well. Bye, then... I’ll see you later, Sakuya.” As she turned away, a doll behind her waved goodbye frantically to Sakuya before following her out.

“Uh... What?”

...Well. Uh. Okay then. Alice just picked Sanae’s form because they seemed to spend a lot of time together and she figured it might be funny, but... that wasn’t really the sort of response she’d expected out of Sakuya.

Interesting that she fell for her impersonating Sanae, though, when even pretending to be the other Alice almost never worked. Maybe Sakuya let her guard down more easily with the shrine maiden?

“...Well... um... Okay! Understandable, and have a nice day! I’ll be going, then...”

“I don’t..d-don’t…I don’t believe that!” she yelped, flushing heavily as she took a few steps backwards.

“H-- Hey, I’m not even doing anything yet!”

“…Alice, I’m concerned.”

Scoots closer.

"Wait, this is an alt?"

“We’re not even anything alike! At all!!”

“No, I haven’t felt any emotions like that while you were flirting with me.” She was telling the truth. If anything, Alice’s antics only annoyed her. “Even if you have been constantly pestering me with flirts and teases, I should not have gone as far as I did.” She actually felt terrible for making Alice feel such emotions. “If you need space away from me, I understand.”

“You didn’t, huh... I suppose if anything, that’s a good thing...” Although it meant that Alice needed some work on flirting. But if she couldn’t even take it when someone else was doing it--

“No, it’s... it’s not that bad. There are just some things I may need to think about now... since it’s clear that flirting and seduction aren’t things I’m going to be able to master anytime soon. Though I may take some time to myself, in my room, alone, without anyone else, for a few days to a week to get over today’s embarrassment.”

“Ah... Aunn. Hi.” So the komainu was trick-or-treating, huh. Bit odd to go as far as the forest of magic, but... more on Alice’s mind was the name she was called.

Was she really so strongly associated with burgers?

“As nice as it is to see you, I’m afraid I’m rather unprepared for the holiday, having not really left my room the last few days... Although I was thinking of bringing some food down over to Reimu’s later, since I doubt she’s had much chance to eat.”

“Uhh. R-Right.” Sakuya looks away from the girl who now seemed so close to crying into her chest. She wanted to hold her close for comfort but she wasn’t sure if that would just make  the situation worse. She just awkwardly kept her arms to her side.

“I shouldn’t have come on so strongly if you’ve had no experience receiving attention like this. I didn’t know. I’m sorry.”

“You were... only getting back at me for what I’ve been trying with you. I don’t think I have much of a right to complain,” Alice muttered quietly. Still, it was clear that there was a huge experience difference between the two...

With a sigh, she pulled back and looked up at Sakuya. “I’m alright... just... I don’t know if this is something I’m very cut out for. Right now, at least.”

Sakuya instantly dropped the act and pulled away when Alice’s voice starting cracking. “A-Alice?” Sakuya was panicking not sure if she should touch Alice or not. Shit. She went too far with it didn’t she? She was only trying to prove a point to Alice. She didn’t mean to actually hurt her!

“Alice. I’m so so sorry. Please. Are you okay? I didn’t mean any of that. I’m not going to do anything to you! I promise!” She wasn’t sure what to do when she’s messed up in a situation like this.

“I-It’s... fine,” Alice eventually said, mostly just in an attempt to get Sakuya to stop panicking, the frantic apologies keeping her a little more on-edge than she would have liked.

“I thought you actually... God--” And now she was hiding her face in Sakuya’s chest, blinking away a few tears from her eyes. Ugh, this was embarrassing. 

Sakuya moves her hand from Alice’s hair and places to fingers on the girl’s lips before moving her face closer.

“With how adorable you are being right now I can’t think of just how your little antics from before would turn me away.  I know a treat when I see one, and I just happen to have one right here in my hands.”

Shit. Sure, Alice had been trying to get the other interested in her for a while, but this wasn’t what she’d had in mind! She never intended for it to actually lead to anything...

She moved both hands up to Sakuya’s chest, slowly closing them to clutch onto the front of her dress. It wasn’t to push Sakuya away, but rather to stop her from getting closer. Then, she broke eye contact.

“Oh? Yet? So that’s your goal is it? Well…” Sakuya pushes her up against a wall.

“Who’s to say that it’s not possible? With all the countless times you have flirted and teased it’s only natural for a woman’s heart to turn in her chest, is it not?” She brushes aside some of Alice’s hair. She was going to get Alice to break this facade.

“H-Huh?”

It was rather clear that Alice didn’t know what to say, face reddening as she stared Sakuya in the eye. If nothing else, she was at least trying her best not to back down...
