AU: Peter Parker is a new Avenger.
Like Father Like Son || Hugo & Jackson
No matter how many times Jackson had heard the joke it still managed to get a chuckle out of him. It was probably just because it was coming from Hugo and not one of his cousins again. It seemed to come off as an actual compliment from Hugo…and Hax. To be honest, anything that came from Hax was a compliment but that was another story. As was the fact that Jackson was going to look this way forever; truthfully, he hadn’t wrapped his head around it…even after two years of not aging. “Army has a pretty strict diet. Remember how I always told you good things would come if you ate your vegetables?” he asked, a teasing grin on the vampires face now.
But seriously, even when Hugo was 18 Jackson struggled to make the kid eat his damn vegetables.
When Hugo finally climbed off of him, Jackson was able to get a quick view of his apartment. Everything still seemed to be in tact…at least at a quick glance. It’s not like he’d spent very much time there lately. Since coming home Jackson only stopped by his apartment whenever he needed some more clothes…or his Star Trek dvds.
"You’ve been here the whole time?" he repeated in disbelief, watching as Hugo picked up the bags. Jackson wasn’t entirely sure how he felt about this. Of course Hugo was more than welcome to stay there, Jackson had told him so right before he left, but…had he really been here on his own this entire time? The thought wasn’t a comforting one. It’s not that Jackson didn’t trust Hugo but…seriously, how had the kid survived on his own for five years??
Despite the fact that the boy was legally an adult, Jackson couldn’t help but see Hugo as the same kid who had stumbled onto his and Toby’s couch all those years ago. The vampire had always felt a certain responsibility over Hugo and being away from five years hadn’t seemed to change a thing.
Shit. This parenthood thing was no joke.
A chuckle escaped Jackson’s lips as he made his way over towards the fridge. “I’ll never get used to this,” he admitted, his eyes scanning over the countless bottles of beer and TruBlood currently stocked in his fridge. What a combo. “I’m back for good this time.” Jackson reached for a bottle of TruBlood, popping the cap off it before turning his attention back to Hugo. “What-no, Hugo, you don’t have go anywhere-I mean unless you wanted too but,” he paused momentarily, the thought of Hugo taking off just because of him being back stung a little, “This doesn’t change anything, me being here. I told you before, this place is your home too.” A grin slowly broke out on the vampires face now. “Even if you are a working man now…which I’m definitely a little curious about.” Naturally Jackson was curious about Hugo’s current career choice. Mainly because it could range from an office job to part time stripper…the list was pretty much endless.
"Yeah, yeah," Hugo waved him off as he followed him into the kitchen. "Vegetables are for suckers, that's just a lie the army tells you because they're to cheap to feed you all the good stuff," he teased, cracking a beer open as well. Hugo didn't eat too many vegetables. And anyway, who craved vegetables while they were high?? -- which for Hugo may or may not have been at least 85% of the time.
He took a seat at the kitchen table, looking around the apartment almost sheepishly. "Well, I mean, yeah..." he shrugged, as if it wasn't a big deal. "I mean, I'm not always here, and a lot of the times I wasn't, Hax or Claire or sometimes even Toby were usually here..." Though he really did do his very best to keep Claire and Hax out. He slept here, too. "Don't act so surprised, man," Hugo finally laughed, rubbing at the back of his neck before taking a drink. "This is one of the only places I've ever really felt at home." Scratch that, this was the only place. But for risk of sounding too gay (said the dude with the vampire boyfriend) and overemotional (that shit was all Toby), Hugo left it at that. To say Hugo was relieved when Jackson extended his home to him once more would be an understatement.
"Well that eliminates me having to make you and Toby move all of my stuff out," he cheesed up at him, baring a toothy grin. In all honesty, Hugo was really, really glad to have him back. Of all the Belfronts, Hugo had always felt closest to Jackson -- not even a few years and some odd days could change that. And, okay, maybe Hugo was definitely better off having someone around to keep him from doing anything stupid. Not that he usually did, but hanging out with Dean and Claire and occasionally Deanna when she wasn't trying to murder him was bound to get him in some trouble sooner or later. "Bachelor pad 2.0!"
He grinned cheekily, tilted his beer at him in cheers, and tossed it back before chucking the empty into the sink, in total bachelor pad style.
"Oh, I'm still dealing," Hugo moved on, very nonchalant as he yawned. Hugo had been dealing drugs since high school, it would almost be a sham if he just up and quit after all these years, obviously. "Not V!!" he clarified quickly, his eyes widening in alarm as he looked up at Jackson, almost nervously. He knew all about how V was taken and distributed, as if he wanted any part of that."Nothing illegal, either!" Weed was still very much illegal in the state of Mississippi, but whatever. "And, occasionally Toby bugs me about working for him, but I would rather shave the hair off my balls and glue them to my eyes." It was probably too much to share that he was also a part time stripper.
Kidding.

I don’t need any promises, MJ. I’ll wait for you as long as you need. Or until the stars turn cold and fall from the sky. Whichever comes first.
I’ve been bitten.
Jackson knew he made a huge mistake in trusting Hax and Claire to watch his apartment while he was gone. In his defense, he was still completely drunk the morning he caught his flight to Germany. He’d called Toby (obviously) as soon as he landed and after some quick…
If Jackson wasn’t completely in shock he probably would’ve laughed or at least cackled at the boys surprised expression. He didn’t even have a chance to yell a warning about spilling the popcorn because there was a six foot man-child climbing over the couch and headed right towards him at full speed. The vampire let out an audible ‘oomph' when Hugo all but threw himself against him. Thankfully, Jackson was now as sturdy as a damn boulder and was able to remain upright while practically carrying his giant son.
"Seriously, best welcome home greeting so far," he chuckled, wrapping his arms around Hugo. Goddammit, he had missed this kid. As much as Hugo enjoyed pissing everyone off, Jackson knew that deep (way deep) down the kid wasn’t half bad. Sure he was a pain in the ass but that made him all the more Belfront. And in a sense, Hugo had sort of helped Jackson grow up. Sort of. Yeah, his and Tobys cat mysteriously disappeared but Hugo was still alive and kicking. So that had to count for something, right? Especially now that Jackson was a father, and Toby would shortly follow.
The vampire took a step back to look at the boy-man now. Shit, when did Hugo grow up? At least physically? “Damn, kid, when the hell did this happen?” he asked, a slightly amused grin on his face as he gave his soon a once over. He was probably an inch taller than Jackson now…but the vampire was as confident as ever that he could definitely take the kid when it came down to it. “Have you been here this whole time?” he asked, closing the door behind him now. Jackson hadn’t stuck around his apartment long enough to wander around the place and see all of Hugo’s shit everywhere. But that was about to change. Given his little fight with Celia, Jackson was finally returning home…with a new roommate by the look of it.
Hugo couldn’t let go of Jackson, even if he wanted to. Nevermind the fact that he hadn’t seen him in years — he was absolutely massive since the last time he’d been in the presence of his father. He’d heard great things from Claire and Co., but there was nothing like the real thing. Hugo might have been taller, but Jackson was wider. A lot had changed. When Hugo did pull away, it was to give Jackson the dopiest of grins, his arms moving to brush the imaginary dirt off of Jackson’s shoulders. “When did THIS happen?” Hugo retaliated, literally motioning to all of him. “You mean to tell me you’re gonna be preserved like this forever?” Hugo knew Jackson had probably heard that joke a million times over by now. He was a Belfront, after all. He took a step back, finally giving them room to breathe (or Hugo to breathe and Jackson to finally get a good look at the state of his apartment). Hugo had kept it in pretty good shape. Luckily he didn’t spend too many nights here, otherwise things could have turned out different. Honestly, everyone should have just been lucky that Hugo only burned down places that didn't garner plenty of loving memories. “I’ve been here since you left. Toby left almost right after you did. Said something completely gay like ‘the only roommate I want is Jackson’ and then he told me not to paint the walls black or throw any orgies — which I didn’t, so I think he probably owes me like 200 bucks!” Hugo happily bounced around him, grabbing one of his bags, as though he was going to carry it to his room. But Hugo didn’t usually have house guests and it was technically Jackson’s home anyway, so Hugo ended up just kind of…. tossing the bag down the hall. Whatever. “There’s some TruBlood in the fridge, buddy! Unlike the Tobias of a couple months ago, this is a very hip-happenin’ vampire pad where all sorts are welcome.” Also Hugo obviously had to stock up for his boyfriend. “And, obviously, if you’re back for gooood…?” Hugo hesitated, feeling bad for like, a split second about the popcorn mess on the floor, “I can obviously go. Stay with Toby or, you know, get my own place. I make real money now,” he added proudly, as though this was a real accomplishment for a twenty-four year old man.
Like Father Like Son || Hugo & Jackson
Jackson knew he made a huge mistake in trusting Hax and Claire to watch his apartment while he was gone. In his defense, he was still completely drunk the morning he caught his flight to Germany. He’d called Toby (obviously) as soon as he landed and after some quick rearrangements, was dubbed the one to keep an eye out on Jacksons precious bachelor pad. Toby assured him that Hugo would take great care of it.
In all honesty, Jackson wasn’t entirely sure how Hugo Stirling had managed to play such a huge role in the Belfronts lives. Maybe because the kid never bothered to leave their couch even after Toby had moved out. Or maybe because Hugo was just as screwed up in the head as the rest of them, that the family welcome him with open arms. Either way, it came Jackson the roommate he didn’t want but definitely needed before leaving Oxford.
It had been two years since Jackson had seen his so- Hugo. While he was off learning the ropes of vampirism with his maker, Jackson constantly found himself wondering how Hugo was doing. Where was he staying? Did he shower on a daily basis? Did he ever go back to school? Was Toby feeding him the right kind of potatoes? Much to his disappointment, Hugo was MIA when Jackson finally returned home. His whereabouts were unknown, even to the rest of the Belfronts. At least until today.
Jackson hardly spent much time at his apartment since getting back. He was out a majority of the night and would head to Celias mansion during the daytime. In all honesty, the place was kind of depressing. A bunch of Hugo’s clothes still lay around the place but aside from that home was…quiet. Therefore, it was the perfect place to spend the evening. The vampire was in much need of some quiet, relaxation time in order to clear his head. Little did he know that his apartment was already occupied. Opening his door, Jackson was greeted by Hugo sitting on the couch, feet on the coffee table as he watched tv. “Hugo? What-you’re still here?” he asked, obvious disbelief in the vampire tone and on his face.
When Hugo’s second adopted father Jackson had left, Hugo had been just a pup; a young tyke on the cusp of adulthood as he attempted to navigate through the throes of life.
Or, you know; he had a beer with Toby, Hax, and Rory in the parking lot of the airport and then they went and threw some rocks at some trains.
Still, Hugo liked to think (or rather hope) that Jackson would like who Hugo had become while he was away. Hugo liked to think he was a man of many talents, and whenever anyone that wasn’t a Belfront asked what he was doing with his life, Hugo told them that he was in sales. Illegal sales in the state of Mississippi, but sales all the same, and being in a college town meant business was booming.
Also, Tobydad had assured him more than once that he wouldn’t bail him out of jail if business went south, but Hugo would always have a job with him if he wanted it. Hugo didn’t want it, but he appreciated his dads for always looking out for him. That was the thing about Jackson and Toby; he’d been a wart on their asses since he was 14 and yet they were the closest thing to family he had. He was a wart, for sure, but Hugo had been very respectful to the sanctity of Jackson’s apartment and had been sure to chase Hax and Claire out whenever they came around.
But Hugo hadn’t seen his Jackson yet. He worked most nights and when he wasn’t working he was sleeping and if he wasn’t sleeping he was usually confused about what time of day it was — and to be honest, he had been hoping he would catch Jackson in his apartment, but the vampire had yet to make an appearance. Hugo had missed the Belfront dinner when he heard everything had kind of gone to shit and Claire had informed him that Hugo was gonna have to have two Christmases because he was now a child of divorce. And then he had heard his parents had gotten back together and Hugo had hoped one or either would make an appearance then… to no avail.
Which was why Hugo had a look of complete surprise on his face when he saw Jackson walk right through his own door. It was his house after all. The closets might have been filled with Hugo’s stuff and he had a very odd, very criminal amount of fruit roll-ups stacked and stashed in multiple cabinets, but the layout, the furniture, the random stains in the carpet… It was all mostly the same since he’d first crashed on their couch at age 14. The bowl of popcorn that had been sitting on Hugo’s lap fell to the floor as he stood abruptly, and before Jackson even had a say in the matter, Hugo’s lanky legs had hopped over the couch and he had thrown himself into Jackson’s very stiff, very cold arms, a nearly silent “Finally,” falling from his lips. Hugo had been hugging a lot of vampires as of recent.

Reunited (and it feels so good) || Hugo & Dean
Dean sat comfortable on one of the countless benches in the middle of town square, his blue eyes roaming the crowds of passing people. He took another bite of his pink cotton candy as he eyed a woman yelling loudly on her cellphone as she walked by. The looked delicious. TruBlood was unfulfilling and while Dean couldn’t actually digest cotton candy he really did like the way the stuff melted in his mouth. He’d been addicted to the thing ever since Poppy had dragged him along to the town fair a couple months ago.
Cotton candy was seriously the high light of this dump of a town.
A saddened expression made it’s way onto the vampires face as he realized he was down to the last few bites of his precious dinner. Claire was supposed to have shown up an hour ago so they could do whatever it was they did, which thankfully included actually dinner for Dean and maybe a squirrel for Claire if she was in wolf form. Letting out an annoyed breath as he finished the last of his cotton candy, scratching his head through the dumb beanie he was wearing courtesy of his date. It’s not that Dean was afraid of her, he really wasn’t, but she had worked so hard to get those three dollars to purchase this hat at the local good will store.
Growing bored, and even hungrier, Dean stood suddenly and flicked the empty cotton candy holder in the crowd. He smiled to himself when he heard a man nearby curse after having been hit in the back of the head with it. It wasn’t until the man-boy turned around that the smile was quickly wiped off the vampires face. “Little buddy,” the vampire spoke, his eyes widening in awe. Dean knew that face, he would know it anywhere. That face was his friend!
In a split second he was standing in front of the boy-Hugo! Of course Dean remembered the name of his only friend. Hugo had the same dopy smile and brown doe eyes, overall making him look like a baby deer still. The only difference now was that the boy had grown, towering over the vampire slightly. “Little buddy, what are you doing here?” he asked, unable to stop an excited smile from forming on his face now.
Hugo had been well on his way to doing nothing with the rest of his Monday night, a soda in one hand and a bag with recent purchases of the video game variety in the other when something had hit him in the back of the head. That was wicked rude. Hugo was usually the thrower -- not the throw-ee! What kind of sick game was that?? He was about to turn around and pick up the stick and chuck it back toward the direction of whatever teenagers had thrown it and maybe give a few choice words and some grumbles at their shenanigans (fuck, it was way too early to turn into Toby) before heading back on his merry way. But then he saw him, and his frown turned into a smile. Hugo hadn't seen that face in years -- but it hadn't changed a bit. Immortality had it's perks. In the blink of an eye, the face he'd memorized so clearly was right in front of his own, and Hugo would have stumbled back if he wasn't rooted to the spot. "Dean?" he asked, even though he didn't need to, his soda and his bag o' games falling to the ground just before his arms wrapped around the vampire's shoulders. "Wh-- what are you doing here? Where have you been??" The last time he'd seen Dean, Hugo had been considerably smaller -- but that didn't stop Hugo from feeling twelve again, even if he had sprouted at least a good six inches taller than his 'big buddy.' Hugo's hand came to rest on Dean's head which housed a very Belfront looking beanie that looked a little bit like one he had seen Claire wearing once or twice before Hugo pulled back entirely and looked him over almost instinctively. "Why'd you hit me with a stick? Why do you smell like sugar?"
