If you haven't heard of it, you should check this game out immediately!!!
I have been absolutely addicted to it lately. Its called Elin, or the Eternal League of Nefia, and its an early access open world survival JRPG. You can build bases, farm, delve into dungeons, and make money in a ton of different ways, such as fishing and making bonito flakes to turn into wine. You can also invite villagers to your bases and make entire towns where they will actually do jobs for you like farming, cleaning, cooking, and lumber jacking, etc.
The stats system is genuinely awesome, I love when games increase your skills via actually using them instead of allocating points, it feels much more natural and is way more fun.
There's also a permadeath mode if you want to turn it into a roguelike :)
This game just feels like it will turn into something even more amazing in time, I cant believe this is early access because the game has so much to offer.
I tried the predecessor, Elona, specifically Elona+ because people said it was much more indepth, but the controls are so convoluted and it takes so long to do anything, at least when youre still learning the controls, that it demotivates me entirely. If you can stand those controls though, Elona is probably also an amazing game.
Flag of the Kingdom of Vendor.
Some info on the Kingdom:
The Kingdom of Vendor was the first centralized government in its region, emerging after the fragmented Age of the Róts. Ruled by monarchs bearing the title Corvidae, it unified diverse territories under an authoritarian monarchy. Vendor’s society was highly stratified, with most people bound as serfs or laborers under strict feudal laws and harsh living conditions. Influenced by neighboring states, Vendor adopted advanced architecture, legal systems, and maritime knowledge.
Under King Dómkrafa 'Corvidae' Grímustormursson, the kingdom began to industrialize, building infrastructure and creating a new industrial working class, but continued to suppress workers’ rights and maintain strict control. The kingdom’s harsh rule and modernization efforts eventually led to unrest and revolution.
If you ever wanted the quintessential program for worldbuilding, I would recommended Obsidian :) Its all locally stored in markdown files and has dozens of plugins and appearance themes to work with. So far I still haven't found a program or website that can do all the stuff it can do. Its literally free unless you want to sync with other people or publish your work online with your own domain. Its genuinely so useful for organizing any type of information.
Its biggest thing is you can sorta do what wikis do and link other pages in your vault to other pages, as seen in the above snippet of my vault I screenshotted as an example. The blue text are other pages that can also have their own links
Putting these links together creates connections, and can be seen in the graph view like above. every line is a reference to another page in said page. That's why the biggest and most connected dots are the main countries' overview pages. You can also put tags to further organize your notes, and the colors of the dots will change accordingly, :).
Like I said before, it has so many plugins so you can adapt it to what youre using it for. Like this plugin, leaflet, lets me make an interactive map with pins that link to existing notes. So for example, the pin of the city of Skallenes will link to the City of Skallenes page.
If you're into worldbuilding as much as me, get this immediately, i'm honestly shocked its free.
Eastern Midfloi Bay is a key coastal region in the USSV, populated by the cities of Virack and Skallenes. Skallenes' half is heavily forested while Virack's half is composed of rolling planes and farmland with planned infrastructure linking settlements across the bay's shoreline. The bay itself is extremely important to trade, naval movement, and industry.Eastern Midfloi Bay is a key coastal region in the USSV, populated by the cities of Virack and Skallenes. Updated version of my map of my continent where I collaboratively worldbuild with my Dad. I made the water look a bit better and I created the Durgan. We haven't developed the east because there was a cataclysm that changed the entire region and we don't know what happened yet, we just know that a significant amount of refugees flooded through passland into the west. Here's an overview of each country:
USSV (Red) is a centralized socialist federation composed of Akens, Skallenes, and Virack. It is governed by the Vendari Socialist Front and built on worker participation, ecological planning, and ideological cohesion. Its institutions are publicly managed and aligned with revolutionary legality. This is my main country.
Chén Qú (Yellow) is a divine monarchy ruled by the Tianlong, the earthly vessel of Heaven’s will. Law and governance are shaped by the Xinyang faith, with spiritual authority flowing through imperial ritual and sacred doctrine.
Khin (Dark Blue) is a theocratic republic that blends religious authority with civic institutions. It prioritizes technological superiority and strategic deterrence, leading in cyber warfare, missile systems, and naval engineering. This is my dad's country.
Passland (Light Blue) is a neutral, mountainous buffer region between the major powers. It is politically fragmented and sparsely populated. Control is informal, maintained by local militias and clan councils.
The Durgan (Orange) are a noble house and martial caste within Chén Qú. They control highland territories with near-complete autonomy and specialize in mountain warfare and psychological tactics. Their loyalty to the throne is rooted in tradition, but their independence makes them politically unpredictable.
The Durgan are a powerful noble house and martial caste within the Heavenly Kingdom of Chén Qú, known for their fierce independence and mastery of mountain warfare. They control rugged, strategically vital highland territories and maintain their own autonomous military forces. They owe nominal allegiance to the Tianlong but operate with significant self-rule. Their warriors are trained for small-unit autonomy, ambush tactics, and psychological warfare, making them both feared and respected across the realm.
In the political landscape, the Durgan are both an asset and a challenge to the central throne. Their loyalty to Chén Qú’s divine order is genuine, but their autonomy and regional power mean they can act as kingmakers or spoilers in times of succession crisis or external war. They are deeply tied to their ancestral lands, and their identity includes noble privilege with a warrior’s code rooted in honor, endurance, and cunning.
Halfeyja is a contested island region caught between two very different powers, each claiming it for various reasons.
On one side is the United Socialist States of Vendor (USSV), which sees the Halfeyjan people as part of its broader cultural family. Linguistically and historically, Halfeyjans are related to Vendari populations, and the USSV frames its claim as one of cultural kinship and protection.
On the other side is the Heavenly Kingdom of Chén Qú, which asserts that Halfeyja is sacred land. This claim is based on the Xinyang faith’s belief that the island holds spiritual significance, a part of the divine order the Tianlong is charged to protect.
Halfeyja has seen cycles of occupation, resistance, and shifting control. Its people live under the shadow of competing narratives: one promising socialist solidarity and integration, the other offering spiritual unity under divine rule. Neither side recognizes the other’s claim as legitimate, and the island’s own voice is often drowned out by the geopolitical struggle
happy with how this one came out :)
