You know I think a chronic problem with male ASOIAF fans is that a lot of them have never talked to their mom or grandma or any sex worker so they don't seem to realize that abuse and exploitation exist regardless of legality or societal values. "It's legal for Robert to rape Cersei so why does she consider it rape why does she feel exploited if it's normal and accepted" well you see rape exists whether it's legal or not, it didn't become traumatizing by virtue of being made illegal. "Why is Sansa so horrified at the prospect of Tyrion sleeping with her" well Chett it's because pedophilia is traumatizing in and of itself not because people suddenly decided it was harmful for shits and giggles. I'm sure you would know if you asked meemaw how she felt about grandpa beating her or her being married at 14 when it was still technically acceptable to do so.

FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME

As we approach Elucien Week, I wanted to give a little PSA to everyone who will spend time reading the wonderful fic that will be posted. If you take the time to read a fic, please spend a few seconds/minutes to leave the author a comment. Especially during really busy event weeks when everyone is flooded with fanworks, fanfic is often overlooked and underappreciated. For the authors, comments are precious and make all the difference in their experience. There has been a severe drop in commenting that has happened over the last few years that has led to many writers to stop posting their stories. Even a simple "I loved it!!! ❤️" makes all the difference. There will be a lot of people posting their first ever fanfics and others who are only a few months in their fanfic writing journeys who will be sharing fic during the week. Leaving them words of encouragement is not only a great way to say thanks, but it really really encourages these writers to write more. Fanfic thrives in a healthy ecosystem and an essential part of that ecosystem is the writer hearing from the readers. So if you've never commented on a fic before because you were nervous, make Elucien Week the time to take a chance and start the habit of commenting! I promise you the conversation you can have with authors through your comments is such a rewarding experience. And it's an excellent way to make friends!

The Elucien Mommy and Daddy bracelets made me remember about these WIPs! And by WIPs I mean please squint because these are the definition of underbaked. I know this will probably land me on some weirdo E/riel hit list but I love the idea of Lucien and Elain having a bunch of kids. They both seem like they'd LOVE being parents.
