“What’s the matter, mo charaid? Have you not found any battle-hardy undead worth your while?”

“How is my favorite undead red head? And my cousin?” Kyran leans in for a hug.

“How do ye use this thing?” he muttered to himself, inspecting the bolt chamber and tugging gently at the string. He was so engrossed in his examination of the weapon that he did not notice a tall, dark haired man approach from behind, and stop to observe his childish antics. Slowly, Rowan craned his head to look upon the lightly armored stranger, turning fully once he realized he’d been caught tampering with one of the soldiers’ weapons. “Is this yours?” questioned the child. “I didnae break it, honest… I was just tryin’ tae figure out how tae make it work.” And then, with a glimmer of excitement in his young, green eyes, he asked, “Can ye show me?”

Kyran placed his hand on Rowan’s head and pet him. “Sure, look it” he said with smile. The werewolf then proceeded to show the little one how to cock the bow, pulling back the string and loading the bolt. “Now, it requires quite a bit of force to load, as well as to shoot it, be careful or it’ll go arseways on you.” He gets on the child’s height and gestures him to hold it properly. “You hold it like this, aim, and squeeze the trigger.” Kyran takes a step back after he verifies that Rowan has the proper position and proper aim at the target located conveniently across the ways. “Alright, you’re good to go.”
