But that doesn't mean

I have known both of them for a week now...

She seems like a fun, energetic, honest, shy girl.

He seems like a sensitive, sweet, charming, shy boy.

She tells me that she thinks he's cute, but that the distance wouldn't work.

And he just texted me saying they had sex.

Is she trying to spare my feelings, since she knows I like him too?

Is he lying about what he did this evening, because he is too destroyed and wants to seem okay?

One tells the truth, one lies.

Do you trust the one with the likelier story,

Or the one who you think wouldn't lie about the way they feel.

She said she was a virgin. He said they just had sex.

She said nothing interesting happened. He said that all was good.

She said he lived too far away. He said it was true love.

She said someone toyed with his feelings. He said that he was fine.

She said he was sad and awkward. He said that it was obvious.

Which one is lying?

The one who seems likelier to tell the truth,

Or the one you want to trust, even though that truth hurts.
