Hey @r3dz33, I thought of my version of the story of Ao and Akira.

A long, long time ago, in a quaint little village of Takayama, the two elemental Yokai were sent to form a bond, one controls fire, and the other, water and ice. They spent a lot of time with another, and quickly became the best of friends. People underestimated the two yokai due to their cute and small appearances. A lot of people challenged the red one to duels, believing that they could easily defeat him, but he never lost a single match. People challenged her to shogi, believing that they could effortlessly outwit her, but she's so clever that she could even outwit the smartest.

As they grew up, they both grew even closer, and the more intimate they've become, the more stronger they became together. One day, the two horrifying, gigantic monsters came to destroy the village, but the monsters are fighting for the destruction of the village. The red one and the blue one agreed to fight the monsters, even on their own. The red one overpowered the ice monster, and the blue one outwit the fire monster. After the monster's defeat, the two yokai decided to tie their knots. And so, the two yokai lived happy ever since.

Watching good artists go and support the asylum au feels like massive betrayal. especially the ones that are completely dismissing the genuine criticism from people who are just trying to explain how the au isn’t funny or cutesy or anything. all the responses are just along the likes of, “well i don’t care, its funny so i’ll keep drawing it.”

its disgusting. some of you need to do better. It’s saddening just how many people i used to look up to are openly using a harmful thing as their silly little au and are completely ignoring and disregarding the information they’re being told for what? attention? traction? its sick.

do not interact with me if you are going to support the asylum au blindly, do not interact with me if you’re going to go out of your way to harass those who do support it. that won’t fix anything. Just know that actual people were tortured in asylums and actual people were and still are being heavily mistreated in mental institutions. I should know, I’ve experienced it myself.

Hey so I’m just saying rn that I’m not a big fan of the asylum au. I’m not going to attack anyone or anything its just I don’t feel comfortable with someone making a whole au about stuff like that and calling it “silly” and for “comedic purposes”

Asylums aren’t cute or funny. they were traumatizing and abusive, along with their newer counterparts. It’s sad that a-lot of ppl are just blindly supporting it without realizing how offensive and hurtful it actually is towards people with genuine mental problems and who have been in facilities. (most of which were never helpful.)

If you’re going to support the asylum tower creator then I cannot stop you. Just please take a moment and realize that asylums aren’t a cutesy funny aesthetic for people to laugh at.
