As many of you know, July 20th marks the end of the Haikyuu manga. Over here where I live, it's already July 20th.

First of all, happy birthday Oikawa, you stunning little brat.

Okay, moving on. Time to go down memory lane.

I first got into Haikyuu I believe two or three years ago. It's not as much as some older fans, but it's more than enough for me.

And when I tell you I fell in love, I mean it.

The characters, the inspirational lines, the character development, the art. Every time I revisited it, it made me fall in love all over again.

Furudate has worked so hard for the last eight years, and I'm sure they are so proud of themselves. I know us Haikyuu fans are.

Haikyuu means a lot to all of us, and I'm so happy to see people bidding their own farewells on other social medias, especially on Instagram. I see so much fanart, and people posting their own little goodbyes.

It's incredibly upsetting for me to say goodbye, as I am actually tearing up while writing this. God, I'm such an emotional potato.

And while I'm so happy that we got to go on this journey together, goodbyes are always on the sad side. There'll be happy tears, sad tears, and no tears at all. I'll be crying the sad tears.

I'm also happy that we got to see Hinata and Karasuno's journey. We got to walk the path with them.

It's hard to say goodbye. It's hard to say farewell to something you've been working so hard on for eight years.

When I learned about the show ending, I kept denying it and whining about me wanting it to go on forever so that we can watch the characters grow even more, but then I thought to myself, we've already been through so much. We're already so proud of them.

So thank you, Haikyuu, for giving us lessons. For telling us that we should never give up. For telling us that some things don't go as planned. For telling us that if we try and try, we will rise to the top. For telling us to hold on to the friendships that we hold dear.

Thank you, Furudate, for giving us such an amazing journey. Thank you for working so hard and letting it all pay off. Thank you for the last eight years.

We'll be sad to see our favourite characters go, and we'll be sad to say farewell, but we will always be true fans of Haikyuu, and Furudate too. All good things come to an end, after all.

And I'm sure none of us can say this enough, but thank you.

Thank you so much for the journey. Thank you so much for giving us amazing memories that we will forever hold in our hearts.

Thank you for the last eight years.

“Here.”

You blinked, seeing a bottle of green tea being set down in front of you. “...what is this?”

“Are you stupid?” Eita huffed, sitting down across from you. “It’s tea. You were thirsty because you forgot your bottle, right?”

“How did you know?” you asked the boy, who adjusted the tie on his uniform.

“It’s been on your face since this morning, why don’t you just drink from the water bubblers?”

“Because so many people drink from there.”

“...fair enough.”

July 28.

“Tendou told me you liked someone.”

You nearly spat out your melon bread. “’Scuse me?”

Eita rose a brow at your behaviour, taking a sip from his bottle of tea. “So it’s true?”

“Of course not,” you huffed, glancing down at your shoes.

“Liar,” Eita nudged you. “Who is it?”

“I don’t like anyone!”

“Is it Ushiwaka? Tendou. Or Shirabu? For God’s sake, if it’s Gosiki - “

“Shut up and drink your tea!”

August 4.

“What snacks should we get?”

“I dunno,” you shrugged, the box of popcorn in your hands shaking slightly. You pulled the fridge open and reached in before taking a bottle of green tea.

“Hurry up, the movie’s gonna start.”

“Coming, coming,” you huffed, passing the bottle to the boy.

October 31.

“Boo!”

“You’re not scary,” Eita made a face as he tossed you an empty green tea bottle.

“Boo,” you grumbled in a more dejected tone. You placed the bottle down, but tilted your head when you saw a little something on the back of the wrapper of the bottle.

You peeled it open carefully.

I know this might not be your cup of tea, but would you like to go out with me?

“Oh my god.”

“Just say yes already!”

January 26.

“Babe, it’s cold.”

“I know,” Eita muttered, standing up from his place next to you on the couch.

You groaned softly, glaring weakly at him as he shuffled into the kitchen. 

Then, you turned your attention back to the television, sighing gently as a familiar scent filled your nose.

Eita came back, and handed you a cup, the green tea immediately warming your hands. 

April 17.

It’s been five years since you got together. 

“I can’t believe you dragged me out here just to walk through the cherry blossom park...”

“Be quiet and appreciate the cherry blossoms.”

You rolled your eyes, squeezing his hand as you walked on the brick path.

“Hold this for a sec.”

Without turning to look, you grabbed his bottle and continued walking, slowly uncapping the thing to take a sip.

You blinked when you noticed something on the back of the wrapper.

Hesitantly, you peeled it open.

Sugawara means a lot, and his intentions are good, but he will learn multiple ways on how to give someone air when they are struggling

To answer your question, just go with the flow.

Whatever the headcanons may be, whether it be how someone might do something or how someone reacts, think about what would happen and how this person would take it.

And then just write it down! Because they're headcanons, keep them fairly short, but not too short to bore your reader. Make sure you also have humor and a little bit of what you headcanon sprinkled over.

If you'd like, you could add your own twist as well! If your headcanons seem long or longer than usual, maybe put then under a cut.

I usually just go with the prompt, and write down what I think. Whether or not people like them is usually on my mind, but try brushing it off! Especially because they're your headcanons, and they're what you believe.
