joy had every right to act the way she did in season 2 because she had literally been kidnapped and traumatized by her father and teachers, literally having to sneak out to see her friends and getting caught to do a weird ass ritual. EVEN AFTER ALL THAT she goes back to school thinking how things will go back to normal only to find out shes been basically replaced by some american girl and her friends are trying to solve a mystery that is linked to what had got her kidnapped like

I love how Amber in House of Anubis was supposed to be the dumb blonde trope but by some accidental mix up she ended up being neurodivergent coded. Somethings I noticed are that she has trouble paying attention, is maybe not good at traditional school but extremely good at practical puzzles, and sometimes misses social cues. Also during episode 18, she says she pretends to be Mara to pay attention and although that's just a throwaway joke it reminded me of a coping mechanism I saw a lot of neurodivergent people talking about. Where they pretend to be in their hyper fixation to focus. Like I pretended I was Woo Young Woo doing legal work in the TV show "Extraordinary Woo Yong Woo" and it helped me focus. Anyway, all of these things I think were accidental but ended up making a pretty fun character! In conclusion we ✨stan✨ Amber.
