I'm rewatching the original Inazuma Eleven with my boyfriend. He knows I'm a huge fan, but I never really pushed him to watch the anime because, well, I know how weird it is. I love IE, but I have to admit that I find it pretty hard to recommend, even to friends who are into anime.

Anyway, my boyfriend seemed to enjoy Season 1 quite a bit, but then Season 2 came along and... the aliens didn't really win him over 😅

I wanted to know what you all think about OG IE's second season. I never really considered it a weaker season, even if the alien theme is a bit out there when you think about it 😂 But so far, it's the season that has discouraged every single friend I've tried to introduce to the series, so I'm curious—what does the rest of the fandom think?

Honestly, s1 is my favourite, but s2 is right there behind it! Not only it expanded on the characters and their relationships, but it brought to the table some really interesting things like grief, inferiority complexes, anger and resentment of those left behind etc As for the "aliens" I see why some people could be put off by them, but honestly, my rule of thumb with Inazuma is that you need a certain level of whimsy to really vibe with it and that's why a lot of people do not (sadly).
