𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭, loki is less inclined to engage with his babbling, INTOXICATED, son. it was in this very moment, sleipnir reminds him strikingly of 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑 . he is even built like his brother, of which he quickly dismisses. loki continues to thumb over the pages of his book. at least within loki’s presence sleipnir can cause no more trouble. the citizens in NEW ASGARD did not need the two of them stomping around. the pointed remark triggered a cold stare over the brim of his book. “ then I have reared a truly PATHETIC son if I am the reason he drinks so miserably.” ( CONTAIN YOUR PAIN, FOR ALL OF THE OTHERS ARE MISERABLE JUST AS YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN, 𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐇 )
as he returns his gaze to the pages, he completely drowns out the mumbling antics of his inebriated son. until his book is cast onto the wall, and clamors to the floor. 𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖. ( I DON’T CARE ) “ if you would like me to be PROUD of a son who in the midst of universal tragedy…. —– ENABLES the behavior of your uncle, who is all but heartbroken, I urge you to rethink your position here. your qualms with me are but futile in the wake of this NEW WORLD. it is selfish, and destructive.” iron bars twist up from the floor, snaking around his son until they hold him in place “ I did not think I would have to BABYSIT you when I returned, 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐀 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓.” the book flew across the room, and into the hands it once rested in, the TRICKSTER GOD sat down, once more eyeing the book and evidently, babysitting.

sleipnir half heartedly squirms against the restraints before being resigned to his fate. he is far too intoxicated to truly care or fight it. where loki saw babysitting, sleipnir saw an opprotunity for unfettered access to his father and his attention. content in his chair, a slow grin brightens up his face. it was amusing enough to antagonize his father sober, even more so whilst drunk. ❝ ---you are aware that this does not count as parenting, correct? certainly not a hug. technically speaking, i believe this to be a kidnapping. ❞ pauses a beat, hiccuping loudly, ❝ and here i thought you to be the god of mischief. you're absolutely no fun at all. ❞
eyes are trained on loki’s face, expectant, yearning for any sort of reaction. ❝ i heard a most provactive rumour as of late--- do you know what the asgardians are whispering about amongst themselves? it is the belief of many that none of this would have happened if you had left the tesseract on asgard for surtr to destroy. it is a most intriguing theory. if one was to subscribe to that notion… why, uncle shouldn't be blaming himself... he should be blaming you. ❞
