Julia!!!! Thank you for being a part of this community and for everything you've done to keep it alive. Seeing all that you have given Azris and the Azris freaks constantly inspires me. You are a master of breaking hearts in the most artistic ways. Everything you make speaks to me in a way no one else's work can. It satisfies my whumpiest cravings! I hope creation, no matter the form it takes, is nothing but a joy for you from now until forever!

I was so, so, so excited when I found out I was going to draw something for @the-darkestminds. Prior to us ever talking with one another, I'd stumbled upon He Comes at Night as one of my first Azris fics ever. This fic left me crying and horny at 2AM. I'd never experienced that before. I remember staring at the ceiling of my room being like "Is this Azris???" hahaha But to me, this fic is a core memory for me. It is a core facet of Azris fanfiction: desire, heartbreak, and a bitter grief. You capture that perfectly, Julia. In fact, I'd argue you helped to form it as a fundamental facet of the fandom. So thank you for writing your truth. Thank you for helping to make this community thrive--putting blood, sweat, and tears into helping us connect. And lastly, thank you for being such a wonderful person and friend. I feel so lucky to get to know you as a fellow creative, as a community leader, and as a dear friend.

Lastly, how could I not give love to our most precious @chunkypossum. Your angst is like a sister thread to Julia's. Your writing is beautiful, strong, and gut-wrenching in a powerful manner. Not only that, your artwork is so peak. God, like literally Neoclassical painting of Azris. I cannot articulate how much I love and respect your artwork. Words fail me. Literally makes the brain spark with joy when I look at your artwork. Beautiful.

Thank you to the great and powerful @chunkypossum for commissioning me!! You are such an angel, and an incredible author and artist to this community. I can't believe you commissioned so many of us to create pieces for our dearly beloved azris authors. The stars truly aligned for me as Mist was exactly who I was hoping to get picked for. I def got carried away attempting to make my love letter to her as full as possible. She and her writing deserve the world.

I took a few liberties but nothing could ever serve enough justice to Mist's incomparable, brilliant fuckin writing. Please if you haven't read it yet what are you even doing in life??? This is one of those fics that ruined novels for me. It'll change your world, satisfy your loins, fix your health, glow your skin, open your mind to another dimension. Go reread. Go surrender. Go FEAST.

Azris to me has been something of a renaissance period of my life. For the past three years I have been lucky enough to watch some truly amazing people build meaningful and safe spaces for Azris fans and creators to enjoy the ship. It's been such a fun and exciting place to be, create and exist in.

And it’s all thanks to the incredible community leaders that have maintained these spaces that have allowed creatures like me to thrive. I’ve found friendship here, inspiration, laughter, and the most heartwarming-fun-wonderful group of people the world has to offer.

So for this Azris week I leaned heavily into the Appreciation part of Azris Appreciation week and thanked 7 Azris artists for being a part of this community by making us such delicious things to enjoy. I commissioned 7 pieces of art from them for 7 people that have impacted my Azris journey through their hard work and leadership in this tiny slice of the fandom.

Thank you to the creators, the commentors, and all of you who interact with this ship.

The rest of you (listed below) will have to wait until free day for your goodies 😅 but just know, the things you’ve done have not gone unnoticed, and some of the most fun I’ve had has been because of the work you have put in.

Eris: This isn’t even one of the oldest. In the deeper parts of this forest there are trees older than the Cauldron. They are so tall their crowns block out the sun entirely and nothing can grow other than them, because they’ve evolved to not need sunlight.

Azriel: Really ?

Eris: They look like pillars of stone more than trees. When I was young my mother used to tell me that they used to be the columns that held up the temples of the old gods, before The Mother and faes ever existed.

Azriel: My mother used to say something similar about the Illyrian peaks.

Eris: They’re about the same age. Did you know the Illyrian mountains have trees with root development unlike any other in Prythian ?
