Coyle’s spelling in his new document has some super interesting implications.
I think it adds a lot of information to the way he was raised without outright telling you. And despite how little sympathy I feel for Coyle, I couldn’t help but feel a little sad reading it.
It’s definitely an interesting change in perspective that fits really well with the themes of his character. I’ll have to think about it more before I come up with an ACTUAL analysis though.

I do feel like it’s worth mentioning Coyle is sleep deprived, and probably doesn’t sleep for days at a time while trials are active because of being on the benny
Sleep deprivation causes terrible memory loss, I don’t think he was particularly well educated beforehand but now he seems especially uneducated because of this. He’s sounding out basic words because he genuinely can’t remember how to spell them
It’s an example of how fucked up murkoff has made him.
I mean seriously he has to sound out basic words like whitecoat and taste…

I think it will be easier to make judgments on these things once we get more primary sources. Right now we only have one from Liliya besides Coyle, and her spelling was fine despite English not even being her first language. Once we get more for the other primes, it will be easier to tell what is character specific vs what is Murkoff induced.
I’m SO excited that we’re finally getting primary sources though. I can’t wait to compare them to the information we already have, since we know how unreliable murkoff can be.
