So for those of you that do actually care where I went I’m not dead.

Muse has left me surprise surprise. Considering this is like my 3rd or 4th time with a Hope blog I think it’s safe to say it’s just not meant to be. I really thought with a nice good old Nier Automata AU to go off he would actually stick for once but with those rpers down to a small handful as well as a dead FFXIII fandom I don’t have much to do here. 

When the base he was stationed at was attacked Hope had honestly panicked. Of course the rest of the MTs had quickly activated and charged into battle without a second thought, and while his core programming urged him to do the same his more human side ended up hesitating knowing this would not end for him the slightest, especially when he caught sight of the Kingsglaive uniforms. 

“Shit...”

As cowardly as he knew it was he found himself keeping to the shadows and darting to the control tower in an effort to both hide and see how the bases defenses were doing. To his luck of course he wasn’t even half way there before he bumped right into a pink haired female Glaive making him stop dead in his tracks.

Closing his eyes he hoped she would end him quickly, though found that no pain ever came to him. Cracking open an eye in confusion he then realized the woman before him had absolutely no idea that he wasn’t human.

The higher ups had begun to grow suspicious of the former Tenebrean guard. Hope couldn’t blame them once he skimmed Guy’s file, thinking they had every right to slightly assume the blonde might be up to something. Now tasked with keeping a close eye on him he followed close behind Guy while on patrol, noticing that he did seem to be a bit nervous.

Hope was often on the fence about how he felt about Prompto. Often the blonde was a bit to clingy with him, calling him things like “cute” or “adorable” and while he had grown used to his usual cheerful behavior he was still often annoying at times. At this current moment he could only stare at the blonde MT and sigh as his eye twitched.

Hope wasn’t sure if should be more surprised at his mission orders, or the fact at how draw dropping Insomnia was actually turning out to be. Arrangements had been made for the small inconspicuous MT to infiltrate the grand capitol, posing as an exchange student. No one batted an eye at the teen snapping dozens of pictures on his phone that he of course would be forwarding right to command in Nifleheim. 

It wasn’t long before a strange young woman caught his eye, or rather than the fact that she was staring right at him. Blinking in confusion for a moment he instinctively activated his heat vision only to curse under his breath once he did confirm that she wasn’t human. 

With his vision returning to normal he mustered up the courage to approach her directly and just hope that his cover wasn’t already blown.

Prompto: he's a feisty one

Hope: You're enjoying this aren't you? =_=

Prompto: what makes you say that? I'm putting a huge burden on you if I did

Hope: What makes you think you don't do that already?

Prompto: *pokes Hope's side* true

Hope: *sighs and goes to hang out with 9S cause blondes are dumb*

Prompto: hey~

9S: was Prompto giving you a hard time again?

Hope: Yup

Prompto: guys I'm right here

Hope: Sometimes I can even hear his voice in my head

9S: you might need to have maintenance look at that

    The hybrid didn’t initially answer when the other had addressed him. He hadn’t really spoken a word to anyone after finally being released from that torture chamber, from Ardyn– For a while. He didn’t really care to meet anyone. Looked like he wasn’t going to avoid it forever.

    ‘ They didn’t, someone else did. ‘ He rested his cheek in his hand and looked up at the other. ‘ But I have one, and it’s Prompto. ’

Hope hummed in amusement for a moment, continuing to glance him over as he observed they could both pass for ordinary humans. Perhaps they weren’t so different after all, though the fact that he seemed to have a real name and nothing else was a bit of surprise. 

Ignis watched the kid take off, still undecided on if his story was true or not. He would remain extra vigilant for the time being and pass the exchange on to Gladio as well. Prompto and Noctis didn’t need to worry about these matters, it would only complicate things for them. Their kindness may interfere with assessing the situation properly.

For the night they returned to the inn and made a horrifying discovery about Jared. Ignis’ heart went out to the boy for losing his only family like that and immediately began various plans to strike back even before Noctis gave the order. They’d have revenge for this.

Their plan had gone perfectly, and Ignis now had the general hung over his should to take him hostage outside. He was stopped by a familiar face came into view.

“So I was right all along. Sure you wouldn’t mind my taking him if your father really was in danger.” If the boy was going to use a dagger then he’d use his spear. Simple matter of reach being a deciding factor in battle.

He summoned it to his hand and dropped the unconscious general to the ground, confident he could overpower the boy. He cast one last glare at Hope then charged in with his spear with lightning-fast reflexes for the trust.

Gulping nervously knowing that he wasn’t built for much combat, the tiny MT didn’t have much time to react before Ignis attacked without any further hesitation. Cursing under his breath he instinctively brought up his free arm to attempt to block the blow, barely wincing when the spear tore right through him since pain was thankfully not part of his programming.

“I was hoping you’d hesitate attacking a child.”
