summary: a story of what could have been the best day of y/n and danielās lives

authorās note: ok so this is a mini series that @phcnekisses had an idea for. it actually took me forever to write, odd as it is, but i hope you enjoy it. be sure to look out for a new part soon:)))Ā
My lengthy white train laid behind me as I stared into the mirror, admiring the makeup i had just gotten done. A few of my bridesmaids stood behind me, along with my mother whose eyes were welled with tears. I smiled through the mirror at them all, turning around and sniffling a little bit.
The wedding planner walked in a few moments later in an adorable little suit. She gave me a forced smile and then told me that it was go time. Everything was perfect.Ā
All of my close friends and family were here. The church was perfectly decorated with flowers and ribbons, perfectly how i described. Heat wasnāt a problem although it was suspected.And the best part was that my lovely fiance was just waiting at the end of the aisle, a short distance away. Daniel has always been perfect to me, too.
Everything he did for me was from the kindness in his heart. Heād make me laugh and smile and be happy, even on my darkest days. His smile lit up any room at any time of the day. He could just show up and my day would flip into a happy one.Ā I smiled to myself at the thought that this day would end with my marriage to the love of my life. The boy who I wished to spend every moment of my life with.
Ā My dad was teary eyed as I interlocked my arm with his.The lovely sounds of the pianist playing filled my ears as we recognized this as the sign for the two of us to walk down the aisle. A deep breath entered my mouth and i closed my eyes for two seconds, taking in my last moments as the unmarried child in my large family. i opened my eyes, my feet moving slowly in sync with my father.
at the end of the aisle i could see daniel standing. he lookedā he looked perfect. his hair was done up nicely and his tuxedo shaped his body nicely. the colors matched the theme and my best friend and twin sister stood up on the altar, waiting for me to show up.Ā
i almost let a tear slip as we got to the end, my glassy eyes meeting dannyās ocean-like ones. his hands were warm as he took mine into them. the officiant silently cleared his throat as he started by staring out at the crowd.
āWho presents this man and this woman to be married to each other?ā His voice was loud and clear as the soft and crackling voices of our four parents answered.
āwe doā i let a tear finally slip down my face and the cool fingertips of my love rubbed gently beneath my eyes, removing them as i silently thanked him with a smile.
āFamily and friends are gathered here today to witness the strongest binding of love between two individuals,ā The officiant spoke, but it was hard for me to pay attention as i stared deeply into Danielās eyes,Ā āToday is a celebration of the unconditional love shared between Daniel and Y/n. The joining and bonding of two loving individuals becoming oneāĀ
everything the officiant said after that went in one ear and out the other as i looked into danielās eyes. i could tell that neither of us were paying close attention to the official, but instead to each other. i looked at the adorable and barely noticeable freckles that ran his nose, connecting them with invisible marks. i took in the soft curls that laid in his hair although no one took much detail on them. my eyes focused in on the different colors that sparkled within his eyes. the blues and the greens, coming together and yet separating. the outer rim darker than the inside that i often found to change color. i found peace in this.
āIt is now time for the exchanging of vows between the two beloved,ā the officiant began,Ā āthese words will be brought up in the years to come, the memories, the arguments, the memorials. these words shared between y/n and daniel will interconnect the two with love and equality within their marriageāĀ
i stared deeply into Danielās eyes as I repeated carefully what the officiant had told me,Ā āI, Y/F/N, take you, Daniel James Seavey, to be my husband. To share with you the laughter, to kiss away the tears. And to give you all the love in my heart, as long as we both shall liveāĀ
the officiant sent me a bright and kind smile after iād finished and it was time for daniel to speak up. i watched carefully as he spoke,Ā āI, Daniel James Seavey, take you Y/F/N, to be my wife. To share with you the laughter, to kiss away the tears. And to give you all the love in my heart, as long as we both shall liveāĀ
The officiant began, looking to me first,Ā ādo you, y/f/n take daniel to be your partner in life and one true love? do you choose to make a lifelong commitment to be a considerate, patient, faithful, and loving wife in times of prosperity as well as in times of trouble?āĀ
my eyes glossed over as i stared into danielās eyes,Ā āi doāĀ
the officiant now turn to daniel, reciting the similar words to him clearly. i watched with love as he repeated what heād asked me,Ā ādo you, daniel james seavey, take y/n to be your partner in life and one true love? do you choose to make a lifelong commitment to be a considerate, patient, faithful, and loving husband in times of prosperity as well as in times of trouble?āĀ
Silence filled the full church as Danielās lips quivered. I didnāt understand if it was my impatient self feeling as if he was taking a long to say something or if it truly wasnāt going to happen. my mouth fell to a frown as he stuttered. i glanced into his eyes, looking for something from him when i no longer saw the daniel iād seen just minutes ago. in his blue pearls, i saw distance and lifelessness. heād no longer been there, his eyes gazing just past my head while i continued to wait for a response.
the entire room was silent as tears welled my eyes, watching the soft lips of daniel move from a stutter to two odd sounding words that shattered my heart,Ā āiā i donātāĀ
my entire body weighed down as my eyes grew blurry. i felt heat rushing towards my face and my legs grew weak as i listened for some direction but nothing happened. my heart shattered, everything falling beneath me with the lack of oxygen flowing towards my brain. i let out a hard sob, but it wasnāt audible as the church erupted in voices.
the last thing i saw were the shoes of my former fiance dancing off the altar and down the aisle, leaving me and our love inside the church.Ā
