“You killed my father?“ David said, his expression like thunder as he studied the pirate.

“Aye.“ Killian swallowed, nodding a little, “I was a different man back then, Dave-“

“Don’t call me that.“ David hissed, “Don’t call me ‘Dave’ as though we’re still friends.“

“I understand that you’re angry-“ Killian tried to continue.

“Angry?“ David scoffed, “Angry doesn’t begin to describe how I feel, pirate. You killed my father in cold blood and now you’re set to marry Emma as though your actions can be forgiven!“

Killian shook his head, swallowing down the emotion that swelled in his chest, “She gave me the ring back.” he admitted.

David let out a laugh devoid of humour, “Good. It’s the least you deserve.” he smirked, “Hold your wrists out.”

Someone on reddit asked about it. And it turns out there’s a logical-ish reason:

all of the other players pair off with their man to prevent anyone else entering into the fight … so it’s a form of self policing. 

[…] The players basically want to prevent 2 on 1, etc. fights and by finding a “hugging” partner so there’s no ganging up on one guy, even on accident. They do it because it’s fair. And it’s kind of cute sometimes.

Calling all Captain Swan readers!

I’m looking for a fic I read a while back. It is a cannon divergence set during the season 4 finial, in the alternative universe.

Basic premise is that Killian didn’t die after being stabbed by charming, he was then picked up by Jefferson, Grace, Ruby and Whale. He is nursed back to health having been whipped by Blackbeard before meeting Henry and rescuing Emma from the tower.
