Rom-com idea
I'm an imaginative person, and music really helps me get those creative juices flowing. Now I recently have started listening to some folkish songs, love songs, and sea shanties and it got me thinking, now imagine this:
A is an immortal with magical powers, that has been around for some time. A few centauries or so, back they once had waged a battle against their old mentor. The mentor turned out to be grooming them to use their powers for the mentor's benefit without giving them any knowledge of how this was affecting others, until A saw the disaster with their own eyes. Now while under the mentor's care, they grew close with the mentor's child, B, who is also immortal. When A first declared war on the mentor, B had decided to stay and fight for their parent's cause, until they had a sudden change of heart and joined A, acting as a spy for their beloved. A and B grew closer together and this love was something they'd only dreamed of, and A fell hard for B. Until one day B suddenly disappears, only to show up again on the opposite side of the battle field, next to their parent's side. Turns out they had been manipulating A and learning all about their strategies and weaknesses and reporting back to their parent/A's old mentor. A was heartbroken, their childhood friend and lover had done something so cruel to them. But heartache didn't last long as it became rage. Rage that burned so deep and hot that A was still able to lead their army to a landslide victory. They captured and imprisoned their old mentor, but could not bring themselves to harm B, even if the passion may have been false, it was hard to forget. B had explained that they never wanted to betray A like that, but their parent gave them no choice as they threatened to exile B as a traitor if B didn't comply, and that was the last conversation they had. As the years went by, A and B never saw each other since that day. Moving to the present day, A is sitting in a bar where they are a regular patron and is chatting up with the bartender joking and having a grand time. The lights suddenly dim and all attention is brough to the stage. And when the spotlight turns on, a lone figure stands on the stage with the mic in hand and a wolfish smile on their features, it none other than B. B was always a good singer. As the night carries on, B and A finally make eye contact from across the bar just as a love song starts playing. A gets up from their barstool and walks up to the stage, where B is frozen in awe. They both haven't aged a day from when they last saw each other, only A seems so much more beautiful in B's eyes and he feels the love he once felt for them start to rekindle. A climbs onto the stage and stands only a few feet away from B and they both can't help but stare at each other. A finally takes a step towards B, and then another, their walking turns into a sprint. B opens is arms wide, ready to welcome his old lover back with an embrace. But, A suddenly jumps up into the air and wallops B in the face with a punch that's definitely going to leave a mark. A calls B every name in the book before climbing off the stage and marching away, fuming that they had to lay eyes on that old lover of theirs who had betrayed them like that. They keep running into each other at the bar and two things are very clear; A was getting more numb to seeing B's face every time they visit the bar and B was only growing more and more obsessed with love for A. The rest of the series is just B trying to serenade and woo A, who is starting to feel some tolerance towards their old lover. And the bartender, bar owner, and a few staff members are totally shipping it and are trying to find out more about A and B's past together.
Tell me what you think, because this is just something I've been thinking up for some time now.
