I'm Rikki. (Maybe you know me as honorless or lesshonor.)

Create palettes of up to 4096 colors using the NEC PC-9801's color range.
Inspired by Macaw's streams of PC-98 games like Mercurius Pretty and HHG ~Heart Heat Girls~, I improved the palette generation toy I wrote back in April 2014.
tl;dr: I'd like to think it's pretty intuitive, so go play!
Changes:
Massive across-the-board speed increases. On my work machine, the time to generate a 2048-color palette has dropped from 11 seconds to 0.1 second. Feel the difference: try the legacy version! (And remember to give it a few seconds.)
Palettes can be sorted to match the ordering of the full palette. Or re-scrambled.
Images of various sizes can be generated from palettes; no screencapping necessary. Keep in mind that your browser may nope out on generating images that are too large.
Added some explanations.
Layout is much less amateur hour.
Potential future plans:
The help bubbles really need to pop up/dismiss actual boxes on hover instead of just using the title attribute.
As the image size is based on the window width, resizing the window alone should re-enable image creation.
A "dark mode".
Overlapping swatches. Additional swatch shapes.
The big one: a redesign that allows for "basic" and "advanced" operation. I can see the value in more granular editing capabilities (...and want them for myself, frankly) but can't think of a way to allow that without kneecapping the simpler, faster process that exists now. It'll have to be its own thing.
manual color reordering
individual color adjustment
gradient generation
color categories
more user control over automatic generation
...and yes, probably allowing the use of hsl like everyone's used to
Who the fuck even knows:
gotta go EVEN F A S T E R (if I can further optimize it)
...does anyone on tumblr even care about generating an SVG instead of a raster image (...no, ok that's what I suspected)
arrange the swatches in a circle because I think I'd like the way it looks haaaaaa
Troubleshoot any compatibility problems with supported browsers.
...This has gotten to the point where I pull it up and mess around with no objective in mind, and from an engineering perspective that typically means you're on to something ❤ Again, feedback is always welcome: tweet, comment, email, reblog, or even hit me up via Tumblr message.

I'm allergic to shrimp and exercise in close succession, but not individually. I'm bad at paying attention and good at not panicking. Hello. It's nice to meet you.
Meg tagged me for this meet the artist thing yonks ago; truthfully, my mental health was in a graveyard spiral for a while and I've only started leveling out recently with the aid of medication. Drawing was largely beyond me.
Wow, I drew these back in June and they've been hanging out in my drafts for four months. Welp! Here you go, internet; the underwhelming terminus of that drawing-a-day thread I made on Gaia.

On May 1st, I stumbled across #The100DayProject via Weja and thought, "Man, that sounds like a good idea. Maybe I should do that too."
...Then I realized that not only would it be a bad fit—the official website explicitly discourages "fetishizing finished products"—but I was already at 35/100.
I don't think I'm going to make a big deal out of joining time-dependent group exercises in creativity anymore.
But I may need to find a different way to handle lineart, once all this is over. I'm not sure my current approach is sustainable, personal projects exempt.

Comic book artists get the wrong impression about what comic book writers actually do and what we have to go through to work in this industry.
As a comic book writer, I’ve been feeling lately like artists don’t understand what writers go through to work in this industry and it’s lead to a lot of animosity on both sides. So I decided to do what I do best– write about it.

I have been trying to wrap my head around color. Much of this has involved using Overlay layers. Careful study of James Gurney's Color and Light should probably ensue, but the odds of that happening in April seem low.
This is the month I decided that the enshrinement of inspiration is scary fuckin' poison. We shall see how far that takes me.
