So, in this clip, the gems and connie are trying to figure out why this new gem is looking for “my dad”

They’re absolutely baffled because gems dont have dads and connie says “Well steven is a gem and steven has a dad”

And Garnet says “there are no other gems like steven” and when connie says “are you sure?” it is

Silent.

We all know Rebecca LOVES foreshadowing, even in the smallest of things.
