But I don’t think that your point of “Tumblr” or even “MBTI-Tumblr” specific populations has any relevancy to the question being asked.

First point… Assuming that there are diverse types of people that actively use Tumblr, this “Tumblr population” you speak of is a good representation of the (not restricting to) national population as a whole. (I’m pretty sure though, that Introverts tend to use Tumblr, or just the Internet, in general more however. Idk, might be wrong. Just my observation.)

Moving on to the next point… People who took the MBTI, or as you call it, the “MBTI-Tumblr” specific population would STILL comprise of equal numbers of Sensing AND Intuitive. I’m sure equal numbers of Sensing and Intuitive preferring people have taken the test.

The difference is that Intuitive people are overrepresented in the “MBTI-Tumblr” specific population. ^ I don’t think you understood that.

My question is didn’t ask for background information, which you gave me plenty of, thank you very much.

My question is specifically asking WHY Intuitive people are so OVERREPRESENTED, of which explanation you didn’t provide me at all, no thank you.

Last point… Funny. I think it’s possible to be mistyped. I have friends who say they are P but are actually J. More often, I have friends who strut their Ni around, when really, they are Se. More than being mistyped, I think mistakes happen because of lack of information.

- they get super quiet and aloof when you walk into a room

-they start jumping up and down and telling their friends about their excitement

-they pointedly ignore you unless you talk directly to them

-they run around the room singing about how great life is

-they are only ever shy around you

while i’m by far not the best person to ask on this, i think its the depth that N gives to everything. while S is sort of an ‘on the surface’ perception of most ideas, N provides explanations. N finds loopholes and plot points that S misses. while I have nothing against S at all, i feel that N has made most all of the advances in society up to this point, because of their tendency to read between the lines and to see depth in things, to be the one to ask “how can this be improved?” rather than “its fine like it is”. S is like a bystander, while N gets into the action. and who wants to be called the bystander? no one to my knowledge. humans have a need to always know more, and to improve and understand the world around us. S cant do that. N can. so in my opinion its because of N’s drive and their ability to see more than what meets the eye. 

as for mistyped people, there’s always going to be a few people that mold themselves into their ideal type of person while taking a quiz or while around other people, and its true that some of these people pretend to be N when they’re S. it just happens. some people act like E when they’re I and vice versa. i can think of at least three people I know personally who parade as a J when they’re really P. my point is, many people have pretended to be someone that they aren’t because they think those people are better. a lot of my friends are S, and I agree with that. S’s do exist and act as S’s, its not that everyone WANTS to be N. there’s always going to be mistyped people out there, but S’s wanting to be N’s aren’t really the #1 problem.
