The younger black-haired Kurosaki shoved her hands hastily in her pocket as her trainers kicked at a rock near her foot. She had seen the captain back at the river / canal area near her field once more and she hadn't even gotten a solid answer why he was here then and so she was gonna try and get that now.

❝ Er , Actually what I know of you I know you won't answer that , Wanna kick the ball a few times ? You are pretty good at it and despite your lack of ability to hold a conversation I like your energy . . . ❞

Gray eyes flicked up the minute she felt fingers settle in her ebony locks even if just for a second. Karin let her eyes trace the figure of the other as he walked past her trying to place where and how he knew her. He spoke with a touch of familiarity.

Did she know him . . . ? No , not that she was aware and yet part of her was screaming she knew him better than she realized whether it was personally or not. Something about him she knew and she knew well. It eventually snapped into place when she saw his face.

❝ I-Ichi nii -- ❞

It was the softest whisper of a name before she shook her thoughts from her head and her hand reached out to grab onto the mans sleeve before he could walk further away. He looked like her brother and his presence felt like her brother. . . but he also felt like her dad. He felt like family and she wishes she knew why that was.

Kukkaku . . . ? Who was that . . . ? Would she also ooze this familial sense that she kept getting from this dark haired Ichigo?

❝ Who are you-- Who is Kukkaku ? Why do you look like my brother ? ❞

Her questions were fired in rapid response as she felt her fingers tighten around the fabric in her grasp , a persistent plea for him to not go. To answer her questions.

you have a strength to you that has been hard earned. you don't hesitate to cut out the parts of you you despise, you're unafraid to call out others. your bluntness can off-put people at times, but you're unwilling to compromise your personal code. once your loyalty has been earned it is not easily shaken. you're a protector and you purge away anything you believe could harm you or those you love. when was the last time you relaxed, though? when was the last time you let down your guard? there is just as much strength in vulnerability.

a   young   spirit,   a   girl   not   so   much   older   than   her,   with   blood   dripping   down   her   face,   walked   —-   tugging   at   karins   pockets   and   dragging   her   belongings   out   of   her   hoodie.   daiten   doesn’t   seem   to   notice,   only   sparing   a   few   glances   and   the   annoyed   quirk   of   a   lip.

it   isn’t   until   they   reach   a   street   corner   does   she   truly   consider   intervening.   she   doesn’t   have   much   time   to   think   on   it,   as   a   distracted   karin   steps   into   a   busy   road.   quickly,   and   without   thinking   does   daiten   reach   for   the   back   of   her   shirt,   dragging   her   back   onto   the   sidewalk   almost   a   little   too   roughly.

as   soon   as   karins   on   the   sidewalk   safe,   daiten   releases   her   and   instead   looks   over   her   for   any   injury,

“   shit,   kid,   are   you   alright   ?   are   you   hurt   ?   ”

Karin’s eyes widened as she felt a sharp tug to the back of her shirt and the horridly loud blaring of a car horn honking in warning and no doubt to convey the expletive the driver wanted to yell.  She had found herself caught in thought and trying to ignore the annoying young girl spirit who seemed to just know Karin could see and hear her that she had completely missed that she had neared the road a lot sooner than she would normally and that it was indeed still very busy

❝ I - Uhm yeah no I’m fine. Thank you for uhm . . . saving me. ❞

Dark gray eyes rise to meet Dai’s as she moves to stand a touch straighter and dust herself off.
