this is meant to be a more " official " coms / request system with the unfortunate goal of logging things just to make sure i don't forget who asked me to make things for them because i have done that before OTL
everything that i do is free. graphics work is just a hobby for me. that said, if you do request anything, i would appreciate it if you use it for a decent chunk of time. you're not locked in forever, but i've had bad experiences before where people have asked me to do things for them and then either never used the stuff i made, or replaced all my work with another com in a couple weeks. ultimately it's not that big of a deal, especially since i can appreciate that i have gotten better with more experience. that said, i would rather have someone tell me they don't like something and ask me to start over then say they love it and proceed not to use it. free is a courtesy; please do not treat free as a placeholder. that's disrespectful to me, my friendship, and especially my time. it can take me anywhere from 4-16 hours to make something, so please do not ask me to spend my time if you do not like my work. i put a lot of love and care into my graphics!

i personally have the most fun with pinned posts and promos; i feel that dividers are my weakest, but i have managed to make some beautiful ones before ( namely the ones on @scondstar , and on @gontiish despite never using that blog ). i feel like my style varries wildly from blog to blog, and i enjoy making things that are fully unique and custom for each character. that said, i excel in creating things that kind of have a crunchy / retro vibe; i also have a lot of experience when it comes to creating graphics and aesthetics for characters who have no art / fc / source material to work with.
anything that you do request from me will come with full installation / formatting as well; all you'll need to do is copy-and-paste the html and edit to suit your tastes.

01 โ OVERVIEWย ย this is an account for sparrowhawk / ged from ursula k le guin's seminal work. they're very slow-paced, calm books that focus more on the minutia of daily life and the internal lives of the characters, which is the same cozy energy that i hope to bring on dash. sparrowhawk himself is a pretty impressive guy in his canon; he's a generational talent when it comes to magic, the only living dragonlord of his day, and one of the youngest archmages to ever hold the title. in spite of that, he spends most of his life living ascetically, wandering from place-to-place, seeing where he can help and living off the kindness of strangers. most of the interactions i'm excited to have focus around his later life where he's more mature and level-headed then he was in his youth, but i will roleplay teenage him / book #1 him upon request.
more information can be seen on my carrd and the wiki page provided, but the three things i want everyone to know for interaction sake are ...
1) earthsea uses a "naming" system for magic. sparrowhawk is his use name, ged is his true name. i ask that you do presume to have your character know his true name even if i refer to him that way in his inner narration.
2) when i do make icons, you'll notice that i almost exclusively show the right side of his face. that is because sparrowhawk is badly disfigured on his left side with scars that run from his forehead to his chin. it is often the first thing people see about him, and i encourage you to have your character take note.
3) sparrowhawk is a native character. every single adaptation has whitewashed him, even the goddamn ghibli adaptation. these are jobs that would've could've should've gone to native actors; my portrayal of ged happily leans into his identity. while there isn't any one tribal analogue we can point to from the books, i draw inspiration for him from kwakwakaสผwakw people, as well as various polynesian sailing practices given the makeup of the world itself.
i am NOT native and do not claim to be, but i do mean it when i say these cultures are important to me. i genuinely would not be a writer at all without native folk stories, and that is not something i take lightly. i'm here to honor and respect the lessons and beliefs of these cultures with ged, as well as build on a foundation that no adaptation has tried to explore. if you're at all squiked by a non-native person writing a native character though, i might not be the blog for you and that's fine.

FORMATTING my activity is low with bursts of hyperactivity. i use light formatting; i do not care if you do. sometimes i use icons; i do not care if you do. i'm very flexible when it comes to what kind of threads &&. interactions i have, and will typically "auto-adjust" sparrowhawk to fit in your character's world. one thing to note is that i do not like writing out descriptions of or tagging verses, and therefore i am probably not going to. i've simply found that worrying about verses stresses me out and makes the hobby unfun, so i simply don't anymore. if we've never interacted i'll probably message you to plot first. that's all to say, i might not like to write out verses, but i will always work to fit my character to yours in a way that makes it easy for them to interact. i love talking to people about these things, just not penciling them in โก
04ย โ SHIPPING this account is multi-ship &&. ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ก๐ฎ, though on a limited basis. that said, those of you who know me from @melniibone know that i'm very open to shipping over there; sparrowhawk just isn't that kind of character. ged lives a celibate lifestyle on account of his social cast, so any ship with him in canon and canon-adjacent verses is going to have to take the taboo of that into account. he has a lot of love in his heart, but he also has a lot of things in his life that are more important to him than romance, and that isn't changing anytime soon.
