but i truly have never felt as alone in this hell site as I do now and the last time i had this feeling? i ended up deleting my existence and leaving. i pulled myself away and even took the muse out of the toxicity that is this rp fandom and it’s like i am being chased by the ghosts at every fucking turn. i wish i could just stop giving a fuck like i normally do but stab wound was so deep, it won’t heal as easily.

Hockey is their life but it’s also their job and he wants to be the best at “his job” and wants his team to be the same. At the end of the day, they are a team and a family but he also has to be the bad guy and call out their shit. He does but he’s also make an effort to help them better their mistakes and learn from them.

He wouldn’t be the leader he is if he just let this shit slide. Yes he wants all the records and the glory of being the best player in the league (and he has it bc Shane may have all the cups but Ilya has all the records) but he also wants his team to be their best.

IMO this is a control thing for him. he’s whole life he’s been controlled and sex is his way to control something in his life. now I’m not saying this isn’t okay but there men who just top and there are men who just bottom (ahem, shane) and there are men who are verse. ilya has tried both and found that topping is his thing. now again, because control. he could try and bottom if his partner would ask but I don’t think he would reach point of orgasm because he doesn’t feel comfortable letting someone else control him in sex. sex is a coping mechanism for him. it’s how he deals with all the pressure from his dad, hockey, etc. it’s his outlet and if you take away his control, his topping, he isn’t letting go. he’s just holding back. so by choosing to top and only top, ilya’s putting the control of not only his but also his partners in his hands.

now by definition consent is a free, voluntary, and informed agreement to engage in an activity, acting as permission.

i could argue that growing up ilya didn’t have much room to consent to the things in his life. much of his life growing up was controlled and decided for him by his father. IMO he took up hockey as a way to rebel against his father and do something for himself but the second that ilya’s talent is known and his father saw how good he has, then his father had to get involve and have a say in it as well. his father wanted him to be the greatest in the world and the best, to a point he is, but then he was forced to do many things he didn’t want to and this ruined what was once his interest in hockey.

now it’s no secret that ilya is very much into sex and uses that as his outlet. it’s the only thing that he can control in his life but that doesn’t stop him from asking for consent from the people he’s with. ilya is all about consent with his partners so if he is in the mood to try something new, he explain everything and get the green light from your muse. If there is no consent, he will not try it. Why? Because he doesn’t want to force anyone to do something they don’t want to do, much like he’s been forced to do many things he doesn’t want to do. consent is a very important thing for him and without it, he won’t do much.

this is partially coming into play with shane, who gives up his control so ilya can dominate him in the bedroom because that is the one time shane doesn’t have to play along with the need to be this perfect person and just give into letting someone else have control. ilya’s constantly known to be asking shane for consent: if he wants to, if he’s okay, if he needs to stop, etc and this doesn’t ever change. every single time they try something new, even if shane’s the one to bring it up, ilya will always be asking him if he’s sure about it and what they’ll do to let it be known that shane wants to stop if he doesn’t like it. this could also involve the stop light system. ilya will never make shane do something he doesn’t want to: in or out of the bedroom.
