TOMODAAAAAA

Let's start with Lear and Anya. Lear is what I call "the problematic one" (although all my characters are pretty problematic lmao). Officially, he's the Fenion clan's treasure keeper, but he's also responsible for most of their "dirty work". His nickname's "the undertaker" (not to be confused with the pro wrestler), which is pretty much everything you need to know about him. He was more of a lone wolf in earlier versions, but in the most recent one he's joined by the constantly anxious Anya, an illegitimate daughter to the clan, similar to Tulcha (their dad had a fun life). They're absolutely dependent on each other, and I guess their relationship is the only thing that helps them staying human, at least to a certain degree. These two are the ones that are going to break your hearts eventually :)

Branna is one of my newer characters - she only joined the team last year :> She's a fortune-teller and travelled far to meet Finn and his group since she heard stories about his heroic deeds (the actual saga of the Fianna). However when she meets the dork squad, she has to find out that they're hardly anything like the tales she has heard of. I mainly wrote her to give some background information and make everything a little more meta 8D But she really grew on me so I made her a part of the main team. She also seems to get along with Tulcha pretty well but idk. I have no control over these kids.

Ava and Rian are bounty hunters. They can't really be called antagonists since they're not exactly evil - they're just in for the fun (and for the money). However they constantly keep trying to hunt down Finn and his gang since his family set a high price on their heads - they're kind of like a medieval Irish Team Rocket. Although they quarrel a lot, they're an excellent team when it comes to hunting down criminals. They used to be guys in earlier versions but I was missing the ladies in my cast so I decided to genderbent them in this version lmao

Saoto: Her birthday is the 4th of October. She’s 20 at the beginning of the story, and a university student on “Earth”. Later on she turns out to be the princess of the other world’s greatest kingdom: Maryl. At the end of the story she’ll become the Queen of the Marylians. As a newborn, Saoto was send to “Earth” through a magic portal connected to this other world (only members of the royal family have the ability to distort time and space in this way and create portals). She was send there to be safe from the attacks and wars in her kingdom, that are connected to another character named Zuki – more about that once I actually draw Zuki for this blog. Thus, Saoto grew up in an orphanage on “Earth”, yet was never adopted and just could get away from there thanks to her best friend’s family, who supported her. Nonetheless, both her and her best friend Asuri grow up to be total nerds, and Saoto has the tendency to take nothing serious once she comes to Maryl. To her, it's just like in her favourite game… of course, her attitude will change later on. Like every female member of the royal bloodline of Maryl, she can turn into some kind of “royal form” (I used to call it “Saoto-hime”, but… nah, I need to change that). In this special form, the royal lady is blind, yet has enormous magical powers. In Saoto’s case, she can create whatever she draws into the air… which is pretty stupid if you can’t see, but it’s still a great (fighting) power once she gets used to it. However, the more you use this power, the sooner you actually lose your eyesight, even when you’re no longer in this royal form. (Hence, she’s almost blind at the end of her quest… D: )

Ryo: His birthday is the 14th of March, and he’s 26 years old at the beginning of the story. He’s the son of the leader of the Royal Guard of Maryl, and has a brother who’s 2 years younger. Their father died at the time of the attack 20 years ago, and his brother Shiki is accidentally send away with the princess to Earth. Ryo stays behind and survives the attack, and grows up to become the new leader of the Royal Guard and the personal guard of the lost princess. He’s send to Earth to find the princess at the age of 20, since at that time her powers should have awakened and no one in the kingdom believes that Zuki and her dangerous army is still there in Maryl. Thus, he takes Saoto and her best friend Asuri to the kingdom of Maryl and leads them to the castle. But more about that on a later notice. Since he’s Saoto’s personal guard, he literally despairs of her – how is he supposed to deal with a princess who takes nothing seriously? After they have to leave for a longer quest to save the kingdom (aaah, cliché! x'D), he still falls in love with her for some reason unbeknownst to me??? Seriously, I have no idea how that happened. It just did… >_> He gets a haircut later on – I like him better with short hair :‘D

Asuri: Her birthday ist he 10th of April. She is 20 at the beginning of the story, and is Saoto’s best friend on “Earth”. She’s a nerd as well, yet she is more down-to-earth than Saoto. "Asuri" is not her real name, it's just a nickname she picked up when she was younger (I don't know about her real name yet, tho :'D). She’s good at material arts, so her weapon of choice will forever be her fists and feet. She followes Saoto to Maryl (“I can’t leave you alone! Seriously… you’d probably be dead by now if it weren’t for me…!” – which is actually quite true XD), and other than Saoto, she’s dead serious about Maryl and whatever happens there. She’s pretty much the only one who dares to (angrily) remind her best friend that “NO, that is NOT a game, goddammit, you idiot!” She’ll most likely return to Earth in the end, unlike Saoto. She’s too much of a responsible person to abandon her life in her original world, especially since she has friends and family there.

Hika: Her birthday is the 24th of November, and her age is unknown. About once in every generation a child with extremely powerful magic is born, and Hika is one of them. Like all people with “magic blood”, she ages very slowly, and thus is probably more than 100 years old at the beginning of the story. Those magic people are usually feared by everyone, even their own family, since they are said to bring bad luck. Thus, Hika left her village at a young age, and travelled through Maryl ever since. Unfortunately, she cannot speak and  never made friends on her long, long journey. Her mission is to find the meaning of her life, ‘cause she doesn’t want to believe that being abandoned and hated is what she was born for. Thus, once she sees Saoto in her almost angelic “princess mode”/royal form for the first time, she believes that Saoto must be an angel and that it is her meaning of life to follow her and protect her with her powerful white magic. Thus, she’s basically the healer of the team, and she adores Saoto for some reason…? x’D She’s probably my favourite, since she’s a precious (almost) immortal baby and I love her ;3;

The story is mainly about the twins Finn and Grainne, who are descendants of the Fenion clan, a family that lacks the ability to cry and has become very wicked over the course of time. Along with their half-brother Tulcha and the druid Dermot, they decide to flee from their household, trying to find a way to break their family curse. (The whole story is supposed to be pretty fairy tale-like but I'm not sure how it's gonna turn out)

Finn is the character I designed first, and he's still the one the most dear to me %D He's a very gentle soul and the heart of the group. He used to be very timid, although over the years he has become a little more confident in himself, sometimes even a little sassy. Although he's very empathic and cares for others more than for himself, he can be quite socially awkward at times.

Grainne is a lot more assertive than her brother, whom she deeply cares for. She can be a little rude and conceited, constantly picking up fights with Tulcha and Dermot. Nevertheless, she's a reliable and loyal person and a skilled fighter.

Finn's and Grainne's relationship has changed a lot over the past few years. I came up with them in... 2008 I think and back then, Grainne was still a flat yandere girl with a creepy obsessive sibling crush. She was a horrible character and mainly defined by her unhealthy feelings for her brother %D But as I started reworking my OCs I realized I couldnt leave her like this and now she's a lot more mature, less obessive and also more sociable (even though her feelings for Finn are still a little questionable, their relationship is a lot more healthy and equal now). She's one of my absolute favorites :') 

Their half-brother Tulcha is an illegitimate child of the clan and has always been looked down upon by his relatives. He's the only one who has always rebelled against the traditions, which made him an even greater eyesore for his relatives. Finn was the first one to approach him, although in secret, since he used to be a lot more reluctant to defy his parents' will. After they flee together, his personality getst less fierce and more light-hearted. He even becomes somewhat the comic relief of the group, constantly confused by their relationship shenanigans. 

In the initial versions, Tulcha used to be the one Finn was the closest to, and he also died in the first chapter :'> I was a little milder with him this time.

Dermot is an idiot with a heart of gold. But seriously, he's an idiot. As a child, he was taken in by the Fenion clan as a prisoner, but made Finn's retainer after Finn took pity on him. Ever since, Dermot has a huge crush on him, which irritates Grainne a lot. They're almost constantly bickering, although they trust each other when things get serious. His headband covers his "love spot", a birthmark that makes girls fall in love with him (which he hates more than anything in the world) - don't look at me, the Celts came up with that.
