Watching Jumanji (1995) rn and all I can think about is how amazing it is that Alan Parrish was at all able to function for the events of the movie after returning from 26 YEARS of living in the Jungle essentially alone, but for the creatures also living in the forest (and most of them were likely not super friendly), and the only other human that we know of being a man that’s ACTIVELY HUNTING HIM throughout half the film.
And who knows how long that’s been going on in those 26 years in the jungle, I imagine a pretty long time if this guy makes him as scared as a child after facing down lions, monkeys, killer bugs, alligators, and all kinds of other dangers like a walk in the park (bc it may as well have been at one point).
Even the killer vines didn’t make him sweat so much, and they were probably one of the worst things to have to deal with in the jungle (second only to the giant f*ing spiders bc they’re spiders, no I will not hear any arguments about it).
He was more afraid of a man than everything else in the entire jungle designed to kill him. The evils of man, man.
