Either let Sherlock and John have a platonic, loving friendship, which only relative strangers would have reason to misinterpret. Or if there is actually something more between them, something that would justify a person as close to them as Mrs Hudson making that leap, then go ahead and give that idea the actual exploration it deserves in this day and age. The only-joking-or-are-we pussyfooting around it is getting tired.
