The battle was over hours ago, but your adrenaline was still simmering. The rest of the crew was passed out, or too bruised to move, tucked away in their dorm or curled up by the fire outside. You were sitting on a wooden box at the edge of the beach where the ship was docked, sleeves and shirt rolled up, and a mirror propped against the taller boxes as you cleaned a shallow cut across your ribs.

The sunset bled gold across the sky, quiet wind brushed the coconut trees, and Zoro sat on a fallen log, while wiping a streak of blood off his cheek. You turned around to face him with dirt on your face and your shirt sticking to your back, still buzzing from the fight.

“There you are, swordsman. I thought you got swallowed whole by that last guy.”

Zoro didn’t even glance at you. “He was nothing.”

You smirked, circling him. “Nothing? Pretty sure he cracked a rib with that club.”

Zoro raised a brow. “You were watching me that close?”

You shrugged, biting back a grin. “I always watch you, it makes the show better.”

He scoffed, looking away, but you caught the way his fingers twitched slightly around his sword. He was always so composed until you poke a little too close. You sighed, flopping down on the sand nearby, both of you facing the fading sky.

“We make a good team, huh?” you said after a beat. “You, slicing through anything in your path… me, distracting half the enemy with charm and chaos.”

Zoro let out a low grunt. “You were distracting, huh.”

You leaned back on your elbows, eyeing him. “Not even a thank you? I threw a knife at that guy’s head for you.”

“I didn’t ask you to” he said, still not looking.

“But you needed it,” you said simply “And I don’t let the people I care about get hit in the back.”

His jaw clenched, just a little. He remained silent again, until you stood up, stretching lazily, shirt riding just a little too high.

“Ugh. I need to change... this shirt’s sticking to everything,” While making a disgusted face, you turned toward a small cabin at the bottom of the ship. “If you’re gonna follow me, just make sure to knock.” as you were almost inviting him.

He didn’t respond, so you assumed you were in the clear. But two minutes later, just as you were halfway through unbuttoning your shirt, the door creaked.

You turned your head slowly and there he was. Zoro, filling the doorway with crossed arms and a very blank expression. “Ohhh,” you said, lips curling. “Didn’t expect company.”

He didn’t budge. “You didn’t lock the door.” You ran your tongue over your teeth.

“You gonna keep looking or close it?”

His gaze finally shifted, but not down, it stayed right on your face. “You can look,” you added, teasing. “I don’t bite.”

He blinked once, then slowly stepped inside. “...But I do.”

You choked on your laugh. “Did Zoro just flirt with me? Did I hit my head during that fight?”

He said nothing, just walked past you, toward the small sink where he rinsed his face with cold water from a bottle. The tension thickened like summer air.

You turned your back, taking your shirt all the way off now, revealing the sweat-glossed curve of your spine.

“If you’re staying,” you said over your shoulder, “you might as well help.”

“With what?”

You tossed the fresh bandages at him. “Patch me up. I got nicked. Think you can handle touching me without combusting?”

His glare said try me. You sat on the low bench, back to him, and he knelt behind you. Calloused fingers brushed against your bare waist, and the contact was... too soft for someone like him.

“Ticklish?” he asked when you twitched.

“Flustered,” you said honestly, tilting your head. “Who knew you could be gentle?” Zoro said nothing, he just continued cleaning the wound, tension radiating off him like heat.

You could feel his breath near your neck. His hands were steady, but you could feel the restraint. You leaned back slightly, letting your shoulder graze his chest.

“You okay back there?” you asked sweetly.

“I will throw you out that door,” he muttered.

You smiled wider. “So violent for someone who just flirted.”

He tied the bandage tight. “I did not flirt.”

“Oh? ‘I bite’ wasn’t a line?”

He didn’t answer, he just stood and walked toward the door like he was done. But then he paused to say “You said you care about me.”

You blinked. “That’s what you picked out of everything I just said?”

He turned, still at the doorway, and the sunset light hit his face just right, highlighting his sharp jaw, and the blood still dried on his temple.

“It’s mutual,” he said quietly. You froze for a bit, but then you smirked. “Wow. That’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever said.”

He rolled his eyes and stepped outside. But before the door shut, he added : “Next time you take your shirt off with me in the room… it won't be for patching you up.”

Luffy

He’s munching on meat near the poolside when he turns and sees you walking out. "OHHH Y/N! You look different! Wait, why’s everyone choking on their food?!" He doesn’t fully get why the others are stunned, but he walks up, grins wide, and grabs your hand : "Come cannonball with me!! You look cool!" (Luffy’s impressed, but more focused on having fun than ogling)

Zoro

Chillin’ with his arms crossed, eyes closed. One eye opens as you pass. He catches everything in a split second. "Damn." He grunts, looks away, but the slight pink on his ears betrays him. Goes back to pretending like he’s unaffected... until Sanji starts screaming, and Zoro’s like : "Tch. Simmer down, ero-cook. It’s just a swimsuit" (He’s lying to himself)

Sanji

Instant nosebleed. He simply collapses and falls in the pool. "M-M-MAMAAAA MIA!! Why didn’t you warn me you were going to destroy me today?! That figure… it’s divine!!" He floats to the surface in a daze, rose petals appearing out of thin air. He might start offering to reapply your sunscreen every 2 minutes.

Nami

She definitely helped you pick that swimsuit. Looks smug when the boys lose their minds. "Told you it would look good." She pretends to be chill but sneaks a look and says, "Okay damn, even I wasn’t expecting it to hit that hard."

Usopp

Chokes on his drink. 'WHO IS THAT? Wait. THAT’S Y/N?!" Starts rambling like, "I’ve seen battleships less powerful than those abs, wait wait forget I said that!" Spends the rest of the day trying not to stare. (He fails)

Franky

SUPER SHOOK. "Y/N!! That body is SUPER SCULPTED! You been hitting the gym behind our backs?!" He’s impressed and very vocal about it, but in a bodybuilder-appreciation way. Might challenge you to a flex-off.

Robin

Elegant little smile. "You look beautiful" Totally unbothered, sipping a cocktail. She sees the chaos and calmly observes like it’s a documentary : "Ah. The male ego crumbles. How fascinating."

Chopper

His face turns beet red. "HEY?! Y-You look amazing!! But I wasn’t staring!! I SWEAR!" Turns into guard-dog mode if anyone’s acting too thirsty. "You pervs better back off!!"
