Soup, Hiti is here with headcanons about Horuda!
I've been a little late with this post, but thank you to everyone who's been reminding me. I had an exam yesterday that lasted several hours, and after I got home, I immediately fell asleep and didn't check my social media.
Warning: I've attached a few pictures to show what I meant in headcanons, but they may seem unpleasant to some people.
But back to the topic.
I don't like the way Horuda is portrayed in the canon. Her appearance just shows her as a fragile and sensitive girl who tries not to provoke or afraid to breathe around anyone.
Yes, she's timid, but I don't understand why she should be the one to be laughed at and bullied. Her personality literally shows that she's willing to swallow any insult if it helps her get these things over with as soon as possible (even if Horuda knows that it will happen again the next day). However, even if we ignore her bangs or her posture, I don't see any reason to call her the ugliest girl in Akademi.
That's why I decided to share some of the headcanons I have.
One of them is that she has major problems with her teeth and lower jaw, which makes her face look... crooked. Horuda wears braces and Dilara's face mask to correct her bite, but it makes her stand out from the crowd. Which she hates.
Also, I think there's a reason for her current hairstyle. It's her strabismus. In my opinion, she has an exotropia type.
She's very self-conscious about it, but she can't visit a doctor because all her parents' money is going towards her jaw treatment.
Yet, her low self-esteem has taken a toll on her, as she's slowly developing a depressive state, which has caused her to neglect her appearance.
Horuda's hair is greasy and oily, sticking to her face. This often leads to her being reprimanded by her teachers. In such moments, she can force herself to go to the bathroom, but she hates that room.
Why? Mirrors.
Horuda hates her reflection, which is why she tries to avoid places with reflective surfaces. As a result, she neglects her hygiene, which further exacerbates her dental problems and causes her skin to break out in acne, pretty bad.
It is this unkempt appearance and disregard for personal care that has caught the attention of Musume and others. Not only because Horuda stands out from the crowd too much, but because other people don't want to be around her because of her body odor and general appearance.
I also believe that the black-haired girl initially did not want to go to Akademi, and therefore went to another school, but was expelled from there due to missing classes (Horuda simply didn't feel like going there and skipped a day or few days in a row.)
Therefore, now the girl tries to be present at Akademi every day, for fear of disappointing her family. But she doesn't just go to the roof floor and sit there on a bench or at a table. There could be additional things there, for example, boxes that the girl would hide behind. Especially since there is Hoshiko walking around. You think this green gyaru would ignore a weird looking loner completely isolated? Hah!
In my opinion, her family cares about her, not just her older sister. But parents have to work hard and they just don't have enough time most days to have a proper conversation. Horuda is jealous of her sibling due to the fact that parents spend most of their money not on her (to fix her teeth, eyes, hairstyle, clothes, etc.) but on the eldest child due to university admission. In the end, sisters has strained relationship between them and don't talk at all.
But the girl's family has never ignored her, they just sometimes didn't notice some things.
Horuda herself doesn't tell or show a huge number of things, she has a lot of hidden places in the bedroom. There are all the drawings with gore and violence, she's secretly really into writing dark poetry or short horror stories in a hidden notebooks (They're full of themes about revenge, isolation, and finally being seen.) Horuda is embarrassed to publish it.
She also has lots of colorful cosmetics there that don't suit her at all, which she used to try to fix the "imperfections" of her face. Those are overdue for several months, but she feels sorry to throw them away.
Also, do not forget about the lack of social experience. She is good at forming thoughts due to the constant reading of books, but the girl often adopts the manner of communication of characters (most often villains or antiheroes), which makes her seem weird and edgy. And because of the problems with the lower part of her face, she lisps. That's why she's silent most of the time.
Many people at Akademi don't know this, but they communicate with Horuda online. She created a fake account and became an online friend of half the school, which is her big secret. There, they call her cool, sweet, and interesting, so she prefers to escape to the Internet from reality and imagine that this is a real friendship, not just a mask.
The girl sincerely does not understand what the problem is and believes that it's about people who like gossip and making other people's lives hell, not her or her appearance. Which is another reason why people don't like her in real life.
All these things are not a reason for bullying, but they show Horuda's attitude towards herself.
