Hitachiie

{ ♕ } “Waaiii! Food!” With that, the girl hastily grabbed the menu left behind by the hostess. Flipping through, her eyes lit up as drool formed in the corner of her mouth. “What to get, what to get! There’s just so much to choose from! And you can even custom order!” She seemed to be in deep conflict regarding her meal for tonight.

    “I take this as an achievement,” The peach-haired idiot declares proudly. “I’ll shut it after you kiss my ass!”

{ ♕ } The guy made a face of utter disgust. “Who the hell would want to kiss your ass!? If anything I’ll proudly hack it off!”

“I’m ready!”

{ ♕ } “Alright!” He went through the conversation they just held. A starting point was crucial, of course. “Let’s start with the animal shelters and go from there! Is there a particular one you had in mind?”

    “HAHA, YOU GOT YELLED AT!” He laughs into the speaker, only to be silenced by a loud thud against the wall to signal that he’s being too loud for his neighbor’s liking. There’s a pause before he then continues to laugh quietly. “Hehehehe….”

{ ♕ } “S-shut it!” He quieted his voice to speak into the phone, listened as the footsteps faded away. “This is all your fault! You made me laugh too much! Damn you!”

   Yuki goes faster with Nadeshiko, knowing right where they’re supposed to go. In fact, after just a few minutes of sprinting, the ramen shop is right there with the furniture store just down the street. She skids to a stop once she spots it, sweat visibly going down her face as she grins to the sign. Kira eventually catches up with a jog, showing absolutely no signs of breaking a sweat. 

{ ♕ } Instead of stopping like she should, Nadeshiko burst into the ramen shop. “RAMEEEEEN!” People turn and stare while men in suits shoot her glares for rudely interrupting their meal. She couldn’t care less in the excitement.

Of course it was not a request.

“Can I get you anything before you start? Water? Tea? Coffee?”

It had taken years for her to reach the position she held today, and it was an accomplishment she was extremely proud of. Call her a bit of a narcissistic, but she rather enjoyed it whenever someone openly recognized her struggle to obtain strength.

“...are more deserving of their title.”

“Actually… you if there’s a kendo dojo or anything like that around town as well?” She shifted her shoulders a little, moving the wrapped up sword on her back. It actually held her sword plus a bamboo one. “Sorry for dumping all this on you, I’m visiting this town while doing some stuff for my family. I usually get a lot of free time afterwards, and…” She shook the sword bag a little for effect. “Burgers and Kendo are kind of my favorite things to do when visiting new places.” And sushi, but finding a sushi place was harder than finding a burger joint.

“There’s one that one of the local schools use during their kendo club practices. You can’t go in while the club’s inside. Safety reasons, mostly. The students are there from 3:30PM until about 6:00PM.” He was pretty sure those were their club practice times, though not quite one-hundred percent; he wasn’t part of it after all. Most clubs in the school met during that time frame. “You should probably check in with the dojo about that though.”

“Ugh! I’m Rez, by the way.”

“I’m Masahiro. We can go whenever you’re ready.”

    “Quit laughing at meeeeee!” He huffs into the phone, pouting at his crushed fantasies. “Like I’d trust you with that! For all I know, you’ll be telling me the wrong thing!”     “… I’m gonna end up going to whatever’s the cheapest, like the one near Dogenzaka or something. Hopefully the walk isn’t too bad.”

{ ♕ } “Too bad for you, you have no idea what I’m saying right now!” He responded in Chinese. And continued his laughter knowing that Obito wouldn’t know what he was saying. That is, until a a loud bang came at the doorway. The voice that followed it carried the pissed feelings of various neighbors in the building. “SHUT UP!” it called. Masahiro clammed up.

“Okay, I’ll ask them!” He paused at his question, then he let out an uneasy chuckle. “N-no, no, it’s not really personally. I uh – I have a really bad scar under there. People get freaked out when they see it, so they might not let me work there… Or if they do, people might see it.”

”Well, I’m not going to press about it.” He gave a small shrug. What happened wasn’t any of his business. “Technically they can’t decide whether or not to hire you based on the way you look or anything like that. In that case, let’s find you a job where you can keep your hat.” A slight smile.

“My name is Eleanor,” the witch stated simply as introduction. Oh, she knew that young Eurydice had already provided both of their names to the girl. However, Eleanor was one who believed in personal introductions.

Now that Nadeshiko finished giving her name, she plopped down hard in front of the steaming hot stew. “Thanks for the food!” Quickly and ravenously, she dug in with little regard to the heat. Only a a single blow before she shoved the spoon into her mouth. Rude as it was, she even went as far as to eat the othr bowl too. Her first proper meal in far too long. 

“Oh! Would those cute animal shelters let you wear hats?”

“You can try asking shelters if you’d be allowed to. I haven’t been to them all that often so I can’t give you a definitive answer. Why is it necessary you have to have a hat?” After a thought, “Ah, if it’s personal you don’t have to force yourself to tell me.”

   “Sweet!!!” He grins but there’s a pause, his smile slowly fading into a look of both annoyance and disappointment. “… I don’t speak the language.” Out of all of the languages he knows, any form of Chinese isn’t one of them. Kira can though, that bastard.      “Damn, that’s too bad though. Maybe I’d get more luck when I go to school? I’m gonna train in cosmetology stuff sooooo…” Less of a chance to have male professors, a profession that’s all about looking good- he’s got to have luck somewhere!

{ ♕ } He burst out laughing once again. “HAHAHAHAH!” It took Masahiro a few minutes to regain his composure. “I-I can translate though! Haaa...Man, that was a great laugh.” Crushing a boy’s dreams...What fun it brought him. “Ehhh, cosmetology huh? What school are you planning to go to?”

    “Sasaki’s Ramen shop! They have red bean ice cream and dumplings too! I LOVE THEIR SHRIMP DUMPLINGS!” Yuki cheers loudly, starting to walk faster… And faster… And faster- Until she’s starting to run to the said shop with a powerful eagerness. Kira falls a little bit behind, still walking after them at his own pace.

{ ♕ } “Hey! Wait up!” She quickened her pace in order to run with Yuki. “I want to order a huge bowl of ramen! I wonder if they have that challenge!? If they do, I’m taking it on!” The excitement compelled her to go even faster until she realized she had not a clue where the shop was.

He – wasn’t allowed a hat? He wrinkled his brow, obviously concerned. “Um, I don’t think I can work without my hat… Do you know any places that make you wear a hat? I really need one.”

“You can try fast food places. Some of the burger joints I go to a lot require their employees to have them. Or you can work outdoors where it’s a good idea to use one if you’re in the sun. There are places where you can try working in storerooms too where they probably won’t make you take it off.” Based on his current knowledge, most potential locations to seek employment prohibited such items to be used by workers because they came off as unprofessional. At least the ones where you’d seek to make a decent living off of anyway.
