āThe Anatomy of Midterm Seasonā (2022)
may you share your progress bar template when you have the time? it looks so handy :)
hello! i would be HAPPY to make a template - it might take a while to make a full tutorial though, so i'll just give you a quick how-to in the meantime below.
my formula for this is really simple - it just takes stuff existing in my database already, which is the number of completed milestones divided by the number of total milestones to give me a percentage of milestones that are completed:
you can copy paste this and replace it with whatever the name of your properties are:
prop("Completed Milestones") / prop("Total Milestones") * 100
then you click edit property, which will show you the below window. you use the formula feature to generate a number, which can then be displayed as either a linear or circular progress bar.
and that's it! you can apply the progress bar to any numbers or formula property you want. you can manually put them in, or like i have, make it automatic with a formula. however, the way i have it set up needs 2 databases, one for goals and one for goal milestones, which is a little tricky so i'm not getting into that in this post. but that's how you set up a progress bar :)

quarantine is redefining productivity. constant work isnāt sustainable and remote learning and tasks allow for more work/life balance for many folx. in addition, creative work and hobbies are resurfacing as a thing to do during downtime but even after quarantine is over, i hope people continue to pursue them. yet, this viewpoint is often only applicable for middle class or more financially secure people. small businesses are struggling and the question of essential vs nonessential highlight how min. wage workers are mistreated.Ā
covid-19 disproportionately affects black americans and other minority folx which demonstrate how healthcare inequality is not just personal life choices which contribute to worsening conditions (lack of insurance, underlying health conditions rooted in community wellness) but also in the unpreparedness of the US healthcare system to a crisis. there is disaster prevention, but what do you do during a pandemic?

This summer was really a great opportunity for me to get my life and mind together and i am proud to say that i am well-rested, stress-free and more than ready for the following school year. I made sure to go all out on selfcare and health and making myself as happy as possible, as well as set new goals and start forming new habits. I'm looking forward to all the opportunities and tasks that are waiting for me in the future.

January 23 2017 // Day 9 of 30 // a photo of your desk in use
Iāve been pretty busy for the past two weeks and its been a while since Iāve posted anything. Finally found some time to relax today and decided to make some changes to my study space, I guess Iām going for an autumn black/gold/white theme? ( special thanks to @emmastudies for the wall art!)Ā
I also really like this page of my hobonichi..Iāve been using it as a bullet journal/planner/sketchbook/journal and so far itās been working out pretty well!
itās going to hit 40°C (104F) this week and we donāt have AC since itās normally never this warm here, so iāll guess weāll just, yāknow, die

Stationery Haul :) Iām so happy with my purchase!!Ā

Don't feel ashamed of doing "CHILDISH" things
ā¢buy toys/dolls/crayons ā¢play with Legos ā¢play old videogames/dress up games ā¢weave friendship bracelets ā¢watch cartoons ā¢use stickers ā¢draw pics of your favorite characters
If it makes you feel nice, do it. Donāt even worry about what other people think, because it doesnāt matterāif it brings you happiness, itās not āridiculousā, or āimmatureā.
You deserve to enjoy yourself.
Let me share with you what I consider to be the most important less Iāve learned in my adult life:
āGrowing up doesnāt mean you canāt have Zebra Cakes. Growing up simply means that, if you want to have Zebra Cakes, you buy them for yourself.ā
āWhat the hell are you talking about, Bear?ā Well, let me explain. For those of you who live outside of the US, this is a Zebra Cake:
Itās a little pre-packaged snack cake that is horribly cheap and junky and really not that great, but it is like manna from heaven to me. I fucking love these things. When I was a little kid growing up, my mom bought Zebra Cakes but once in a blue moon. They were intended to be put in mine and my siblingsā school lunches, but my brother and I would eat them whenever we wanted, so Mom just didnāt see the point. (They also used to be kind of expensive, at least for our familyās budget.) Needless to say, the coveted Zebra Cakes were a luxury for me, and were one of the tastes of my childhood.
Fast forward to my college years. I was living in an apartment with three other people, doing my own shopping and cooking. I was in the grocery store, picking up some stuff, and I happened to walk past a display of snack cakes. Among them were several boxes of Zebra Cakes.
I paused at this, chuckling to myself. Oh man. Zebra Cakes. I havenāt had those in years. I loved those when I was a kid.Ā I reminisced happily and thought about how much I missed the taste of Zebra Cakes, then started to walk away.
And then I stopped dead.
Because I had realized that there was literally nothing stopping me from buying a box of Zebra Cakes. There was nothing stopping me from buying tenĀ boxes of Zebra Cakes. If I wanted Zebra Cakes, I could have goddamn Zebra Cakes, because it was my money and my decision to make.
I put two boxes in my cart (they were 2 for $5) and never looked back.
Hereās the secret I learned that day: The idea of something beingĀ ājust for kidsā is, by and large, bullshit. What you do on your own adult free time with your own adult money is, by its very nature, adult stuff. Itās like comedian Eddie Izzard (who frequently performed his routines in drag) once said when someone asked about him wearingĀ āwomenās clothesā:Ā āTheyāre not womenās clothes. Theyāre my clothes. I bought them.ā
I am 25 years old, and yesterday I bought myself a shark lunchbox. Look at it. Look at how awesome my lunchbox is.
Was this lunchbox intended to by bought for and used by a child? Yes. The tag said it was for ages 3 and up. But it was bought by and will be used by an adult, and anyone who thinks thatās wrong is probably just jealous that they donāt have the self-confidence to rock a shark lunchbox at 25.
So like. Being āmatureā and āan adultā doesnāt mean you have to completely abandon the things that made you happy when you were younger. It just means that you may have to approach them in a different way.Ā
Pay attention, thereās a lesson here
I hesitated reblogging this, and I am not entirely sure why.
LEGO. I just turned 42 and I have LEGO sets allllll over my house. Why? Because I wanted them, and because it is my money and I will spend it how I like, MOTHER.
As long as you arenāt bankrupting yourself, buy the things you *want* to buy, the things that bring you JOY.
you are missing out on so much if you just stick toĀ āadult thingsā
THANK YOU!
Iām turning 26 in May and back in December I bought a set of gel pens on a whim. We could never afford them when I was a kid and they werenāt in my budget that month but I wanted them so I spent $6 and bought them.
Best. Decision. EVER. I write with gel pens exclusively now and I have no regrets. I love picking a new color when I write. I feel so much joy choosing between glitter, metallic, neon, and pastel pens.
Let yourself be happy. Thereās no right way to be an adult.
Get yourself the things you wanted as a child but never could have.
Life is too short to not do things that make you happy. Donāt listen to whatever society tells you isĀ āadultā orĀ āmatureā. Keep the whimsy alive!
i will enjoy this and fuck you for telling me i cant
