β’ Byakuya is intrigued by anything related to arts, and filmmaking is one of the things he keeps his eye on the most. He admires the talent of people who put every ounce of creativity into a scene that maybe three people will pick up on. Talent is something that he admires, and he certainly admires yours.
β’ He loves being by your side as you plan out scenes, listening to your process and adding slight suggestions that might help. He likes having you sit on his lap, holding you and staring over your shoulder as you work on scenes. He'll let out the occasional hum of approval, just appreciating your work.
β’ He will donate as much as he needs to towards your films, wanting the film to reach its potential. It's a shame that some masterpieces fall short of the funding they need, so he will donate as much as needed. Even if he has to do it anonymously, he's going to help.
β’ He will make sure to be by your side for any movie premiere. He keeps a hand carefully wrapped around your waist, pressed softly against your lower back, and stay by your side. Whether it be posing for the pictures, watching the movie, or the interviews, he's by your side and supporting you. That's one of his favorite things to do.

Today was not a good day.
Everything seemed to be so dark. You couldnβt focus on anything because you were too busy being stuck in your head, and not in a good way. Your head was in the clouds.
Dark, dreary, rainy clouds.
Thatβs what lead to your current position, in your dorm bawling your eyes out. Because god forbid anything goes fucking right.
Your phone had been going off for at least 10 minutes now. You couldnβt bring yourself to look at it, not a care in the world for whoever was trying to contact you. A knock on your door broke you out of your depressive stance momentarily. You looked up towards the doorknob, then right back down into your lap.
βSo help me Christ, Y/N. If I have to, I will make one single phone call and get this door ripped off its hinges.β A voice called from the otherside of the door. You let out a small whimper. He was the *last* person you wanted to see you like this. He would probably spit in your face and call it a day. The voice huffed and tapped the tip of his shoe on the door. βWould you please open the door? I wasnβt lying about getting it ripped off, but Iβd rather not talk to someone I donβt want to.β You sighed shakily and stood up slowly, walking towards the door. You grabbed the doorknob and unlocked it, hesitantly opening the door a crack.
βWhat, Byakuya?β You mumbled hoarsely. Byakuya furrowed his eyebrows and pushed the door open wider.
βYou arenβt seriously talking to me like tha-β He paused for a moment, looking you up and down in confusion. His mouth opened and closed. Taking too long to speak, you went to shut the door. At the last second, he shoved his shoe in the door frame to prevent it from shutting.
βByakuya-β You started. He pushed the door open again and sighed.
βI apologize, Iβm sure that seemed a bit...judgemental. I assure you, I wasnβt judging. I was just, in shock.β Byakuya looked down at you and adjusted his glasses. He went to place his hand on your shoulder, but took it back at the last minute with a sigh. βAs Iβm sure youβve noticed, comforting isnβt really my strong suit. Shocking, I know.β You let out a small giggle, perking a small smile from him. βAre you alright? No need to lie, Iβm practically a walking lie detector.β Your smile fell and you looked towards a little knick knack on your shelf. You reached out and took Byakuyaβs sleeve, pulling him into the room. You shut the door behind you two.
βI just, had a bad day. Wasnβt feeling great. Got picked on. Wasnβt fun, at all.β You laughed sadly. Byakuya held up a finger, silently telling you to hold on.
βYou got what?β He asked.
βPicked on?β You responded. Byakuya huffed.
βBy who, pray tell. I want names, first and last. I assure you, nothing will happen to you after I am finished-β Byakuya started.
βByakuya! Iβm not giving you names! It isnβt a big deal, seriously.β You assured, a sense of panic in your tone. Byakuya scoffed.
βNot a big deal, do you have no respect for yourself? You donβt deserve to get insulted by incompentent beings with little to no brain cells.β Byakuya argued. You shakily sighed.
βByakuya, please. Donβt do anything.β You pleaded. Byakuya looked at you like you had four heads. After a second he shook his head.
βIβm dropping it for now, but donβt expect me to forget.β Byakuya said, making direct eye contact. You nodded and silently thanked him, for now at least. Byakuya moved to sit on your bed, crossing his legs with his ankle resting on his knee. You walked to the same spot and sat next to him, fiddling with your hands. Byakuya looked at you and frowned.
βI genuinely donβt like seeing you sad. Iβm getting these pangs in my chest and I just dislike it. So, what do you need from me?β Byakuya went on, tilting his head down to get a better look at you. You shrugged softly. Byakuya sighed and very slowly opened his arms. βDo you...need a hug? I wonβt wait forever for an answer, so you have three seconds-β
Before Byakuya could finish, you practically latched onto him. Your arms were around his neck, the side of your head against his cheek. Byakuya gasped at the sudden touch, not nearly used to it. He wrapped one arm around your waist and the other rubbed up and down your back in an attempt to comfort you further.
β...Although it may not seem like it, I care for you. Quite a bit. I donβt like seeing you upset, so please donβt hesitate to come to me when you feel like this. Iβll...try to get better. For you.β
ive been more mentally strained than i have I a while, and it doesn't help that i have a pretty sucky cold as well. ive been doing a lot more than i need to be, so im trying to take time for myself and take a small step back. so yeah, im trying my best to get shit done but it has to be at my pace.
a friend has been helping me out recently, i know him irl. he's noticed improvement, thankfully. so apparently i am doing something right. im trying my best to pace myself and work at my mental health, and hopefully it'll help my physical health. our school is virtual for a week so that might help things out a bit.
im trying to stay positive and keep a positive mindset. even though there are so many things going wrong, there are still so many things going right. i just thought id update.

today has been a terribly stressful day. but hey, you made it out alive, and that's what matters, right? the bus was a little loud, but what else can you expect when a bunch of highschool kids have an hour and a half to kill before they get back to the school, a little past midnight.
all of the sound seems to melt away as you feel his hand wrapped around your waist, his eyes close as he held you. he had his ears plugged, not wanting to deal with the sound and wanting to hold on tight.
the night creeped on, but in the darkness you knew he was there. you kept talking with a few friends, but you were happy to lean back into his embrace.
stress melted. a hard day, finished. all you needed to do was relax. and byakuya was sure to relax with you.
ive been feeling like absolute shit recently, so uh, i just wanna talk about a thought that's been bringing me comfort <3

imagine laying in one of those porch swings, completely covered from the rain but being able to watch it. byakuya is laying with you, softly singing the lyrics of the song. stroking your hair, whispering into your ear and kissing your temple. it's been a rough little while, but you feel safe. even if it's just a little while.
