Every now and then I come across a post from an old mutual who just disappeared off the internet. she was eccentric, never in a way that felt like she was being performative, just genuinely down to earth once you got past the reserved exterior. We used to share places worth visiting in our area. In hindsight, it's kind of funny that we only lived a state away from each other. the last dm she sent was a farewell before wiping all her socials. sometimes I wonder if she wanted a clean slate from the world. we weren't close, exactly, just two people who happened to share some commonality in our upbringing, but she still left an imprint on me that I think about sometimes
