Been reading lots of Cygate + Whirl content, and it delves heavily into the insecurity faced in the relationship from Cyclonus and Whirl, but never Tailgate.

Tailgate comes off as their rock, which is understandable when entering a relationship with two people that have considerably deeper life experiences and trauma

But…

I’m also interested in Tailgate. How he feels being their rock. How his insecurities might get to him, but he bottles it in inside because he can’t afford to lose his shit with Whirl and Cyclonus.

And sometimes he just feels inferior. They help each other in ways he never could. They understand each other in ways he couldn’t dream of. They are powerful, smart, strong, and attractive, and look good together.

And Tailgate is just Tailgate.

They don’t really need him aside from smoothing out the rough edges, being the shoulder that someone cries on, or being the gentle servo when the others can’t be.

He’s just there to fix what will eventually heal. And it scares him to know what they’ll do with him when he’s no longer needed.
