Brendon has had a long week back to back 12hr shifts so he could take the weekend off. It is Friday he was exhausted he didn’t get much sleep but he was taking it slow and easy today. But you had been on one today. Right now you wanted a slice of cake and a cookie that you and Brendon had baked earlier this morning at your proposal. “No sweetheart we have to wait until after dinner we don’t want your tummy getting upset” Brendon yawned rubbing his eye for a second as he turned back to whatever he had been making for dinner.

You whined and you whined, you fussed and fussed. Finally Brendon caved and cut you a small slice of cake and gave you the smallest cookie from the batch to ease your craving just so he could get dinner done. You cooed and toddled away to go eat it and wait for dinner.

During dinner it was a different story, it started off fine, daddy holding you while feeding you in between his bites. But you soon felt your tummy twist around. You ate smaller and smaller bites until you finally wanted to stop eating with a little under half you ate still left. Brendon looked down at you confused on why you didn’t want anymore. “What’s wrong sweetheart?” He asked offering you another bite but you pushed it away whining a small “done!”. Brendon chalked it up to you being tired from not having good sleep or a good nap so he back offed and finished his food.

After Brendon cleared the table and make sure every dish was packed neatly into the dishwasher he finally started on bath-time. Your tummy ache had fully kicked in by now and you were not happy. Brendon noticed the way you fussed and whined all during bath-time. “I think I know what’s wrong” he hummed softly running a warm rag over your arms as your eyes shut feeling another wave of pain. “Maybe we should’ve saved our dessert for after dinner” he said gently and sympathetically knowing your tummy hurt.

After bath-time daddy took extra care of you. Baby talking you gently as he got you into your pajamas and brushed your teeth. “I know baby girl I know” he hummed in that babyish tone that made you coo and giggle any other moment but right now it was keeping you from crying. He got you all ready to start winding down for the night. “You want your paci?” He asked carrying you by the kitchen where your paci laid on the counter. You nodded your head on his broad chest. He walked over and grabbed the binky off the marble and set it softly into your mouth.

He sat down with you on the couch and turned on your cartoons. Any other night you would’ve been already half asleep with the combination of a good dinner and the dim light and slow cartoons after a warm bath. But your tummy was still not having it. Brendon chuckled gently as you laid your back against his chest. Your pacifier bobbing slowly, you felt the warm calloused hand of your daddy giving you the familiar soft tummy rubs you know and love. “That helping pumpkin?” He asked just above a whisper watching your face relax and focus more on the show now than your tummy ache. You nodded not looking away from the tv just soaking in the comforting hand of your caregiver. You melted into the rubs letting yourself sink into the warmth of your daddy to finally put that brain to sleep. You were drifting off your tummy was feeling a bit better now but you didn’t want Brendon to know that. A part of him did know but he would do anything to keep his baby girl comfortable so he continued tummy rubs until you finally fell into a deep sleep.

Brendon’s days off usually consist of sitting around and catching up on sleep but not today

He learned of a sensory friendly aquarium experience a few weeks ago and decided to take you today

You were so excited you had been so patient waiting for dada to take you to see all the fishes

You had your pacifier in this one had ocean animals all on it to match today’s theme

You were still waking a up a bit since the sensory day only lasted a few hours before regular times started

You babbled on and on about the fishes to dada

“Mm dada! Red fish” you pointed at the bright blue fish swimming right in front of your face

Brendon was so glad he heard about this, you struggled a bit with sensory and had minimal places to go like this

“I see sweet girl is that a red fish?” He asked rubbing your tummy softly bending down to meet you where you were watching

“Blue fish!” You giggled again pointing at the other fishies swimming around

“How many do you see sweet baby?” He smiled finding it adorable the amount of fun you were having

“One!” You cooed looking around pacifier no longer in your face rather you were babbling on and on

“Two!” You counted again pressing your finger against the wall looking around all the fish

You looked up a bit in the tank and saw a shark, nothing crazy just a sand tiger shark

You cooed stomping your feet a little bit excited

You knew about Brendon’s hospital nickname “park the shark” or just the “shark” he got that from being very calculated and scary like a shark and a few of his teeth were sharper than average and you could see them when he talked

“Mmm dada” you pointed up at the shark

You couldn’t remember the word shark right now and all you could think about was dada

You whined a bit as he looked down at you smiling ear to ear showing off a few of those sharp one

“Sweet girl is daddy a shark?” Brendon asked smiling at you as you continued to point

You nodded at him “dada shark” you huffed making it very apparent daddy was the shark
