❝  oh  ,  boy  …  i  don’t  know  .  i’ve  had  a  lot  of  various  experiences  that  have  impacted  me  greatly  over  the  years  ,  but  meeting  all  of  my  closest  friends  are  probably  my  favorite  experiences  .  they’ve  all  taught  me  a  variety  of  things  —  about  myself  ,  relationships  ,  and  life  in  general  —  that  i  carry  with  me  even  today  .  hell  ,  they  still  teach  me  things  and  i’m  forever  grateful  for  their  existence  .  i’m  even  more  grateful  that  you  guys  continue  to  let  me  exist  beside  you  .  ❞

              she’s  no  stranger  to  violence  ,  to  picking  up  and  cleaning  the  mess  left  behind  in  its  wake  .  granted  ,  the  situations  were  different  ,  but  that  didn’t  matter  much  .  not  to  her  ,  anyway  .  when  she  hears  another  one  of  his  requests  ,  her  movements  cease  for  a  moment  as  she  makes  a  face  in  response  .  she’s  never  approved  of  physical  violence  ,  unless  no  other  choice  was  given  ,  so  she  doesn’t  hesitate  to  do  the  opposite  as  yuki  tells  her  .  she  takes  a  moment  to  add  a  little  more  disinfectant  to  the  cotton  pad  gripped  in  her  tweezers  before  roughly  placing  it  back  onto  the  wounds  on  his  face  ,  ❝  maybe  you  should  take  your  own  advice  ,  hm  ?  ❞  jinae  flashes  a  gentle  grin  ,  one  which  seems  to  heavily  contradict  her  actions  .  ❝  but  in  all  seriousness  ...  why  is  it  that  you’re  almost  always  coming  over  to  my  place  looking  to  be  patched  up  ?  don’t  you  think  you  deserve  a  little  better  than  that  ?  ❞  she  means  nothing  by  her  questions  ------  and  she  hopes  he  won’t  take  them  the  wrong  way  ------  the  woman  is  simply  curious  ;  and  she’d  be  lying  if  she  said  she  didn’t  believe  he  deserved  to  be  treated  better  .  whether  it  be  by  others  or  himself  ,  the  specifics  didn’t  matter  to  her  much  .

❝  oh  ,  i  love  this  question  .  i  got  into  it  during  my  travels  ,  specifically  when  i  was  in  japan  .  given  my  core  beliefs  already  ,  when  i  heard  about  it  from  a  roommate  of  mine  ,  it  piqued  my  curiosity  .  i  did  a  lot  of  research  ,  talked  with  a  lot  of  reiki  masters  and  slowly  began  my  own  journey  .  as  i  continued  to  travel  ,  i  also  continued  my  learning  and  gathered  what  skills  i  could  ,  incorporating  them  into  my  own  practice  as  time  went  on  .  unfortunately  ,  though  ,  i  wasn’t  quite  able  to  do  much  with  it  given  the  fact  that  i  was  almost  always  on  some  sort  of  bender  .  it  wasn’t  until  i  came  back  here  and  lost  my  grandmother  that  i  cleaned  up  and  began  to  take  everything  seriously  .  considering  it  is  what  it  is  ,  i  didn’t  think  i’d  be  able  to  make  a  proper  living  off  of  it  ,  so  i  decided  to  simply  offer  it  as  something  that  i  am  willing  to  do  should  someone  be  interested  .  a  lot  of  people  ,  primarily  those  who  believe  that  science  is  law  ,  don’t  really  believe  in  or  approve  of  reiki  —  same  with  the  catholics  —  because  it’s  considered  to  be  a  ❛ pseudoscience  ❜  .  i  ,  on  the  other  hand  ,  believe  that  the  mind  is  a  powerful  thing  ,  as  is  energy  .  and  ,  if  you’re  open  ,  anything  is  possible  .  ❞

❝  i  don’t  have  many  ?  i  mean  ,  i  think  i’d  like  to  eventually  become  a  mom  ,  become  more  successful  in  my  own  field  and  help  /  heal  more  people  as  time  progresses  ,  but  the  majority  of  the  ❛  goals  ❜  i  can  think  of  are  primarily  just  me  watching  and  supporting  people  i  love  as  they  reach  their  own  goals  .  ❞

❝  um  …  off  the  top  of  my  head  ,  i’ll  have  to  say  either  when  people  continuously  bash  the  things  that  someone  else  likes  —  like  when  they’re  all  excited  as  they  share  them  ,  but  the  other  person  has  nothing  but  negative  things  to  say  —  or  when  strangers  have  no  respect  for  personal  space  ,  especially  after  they’ve  been  asked  to  back  up  .  those  are  things  that  probably  piss  me  off  the  most  and  they  don’t  even  have  to  be  happening  to  me  personally  ;  i  can  just  witness  them  and  i’ll  immediately  see  red  .  i  mean  ,  really  …  why  be  an  asshole  ?  it’s  unnecessary  .  ❞

JINAE: that’s okay ... maybe that’s something we should do soon. or, better yet, we can each bring some of our favorite ones and have a marathon of decent horror flicks ? that sounds like more fun JINAE: yes !!! honestly, i think those are some of the worst movies, but in the best ways. that one gave me nightmares, tho. which is, oddly, exactly what i look for. i mean, what’s the point otherwise, amirite ?? JINAE: stooooooooooooooop. i would be a horrible movie director. BUT if i ever /did/ make a movie, i’d probably end up doing something like the blair witch project bc i think the paranormal / occult stuff is much scarier, especially when done right. JINAE: not that i was the biggest fan of that movie or the paranormal activity ones either, but still the way i would go. JINAE: maybe i could even recruit you to help with casting and critiquing ?? you seem to be the person i can trust most the help ensure i make the biggest hit.

❝  if  it’s  a  secret  i’d  never  tell  anyone  ,  why  would  i  tell  you  ?  that  makes  no  sense  to  me  ——  either  way  ,  i  do  have  secrets  i  wouldn’t  tell  the  whole  world  ,  sure  ,  but  they’re  not  secrets  i  wouldn’t  share  with  my  closest  friends  .  which  means  that  i  don’t  think  i  really  have  any  ?  i  can  ,  however  ,  say  that  the  majority  of  my  secrets  aren’t  really  secrets  at  all  .  they’re  just  ways  i  feel  regarding  a  certain  situation  and  /  or  person(s)  .  that  situation  primarily  being  my  childhood  and  person(s)  being  my  birth  parents  .  i  hope  that  suffices  .  ❞
