       ‘     you  fuckin’  piece  of  j u n k   .   ‘   he  cursed , slamming  the  hood  shut  of  the  car  he  had  borrowed  from  one  of  his  co - workers , which  seemed  to  break  down  once  every  second  mile .  this  time , though , it  seemed  to  be  the  oil , and  changmin  did  not  want  to  end  up  barbecued .  kicking  the  front  tire  out  of  frustration , changmin  muttered  curse  after  curse  under  his  breath  as  he  kept  tapping  the  screen  of  his  phone  which  ran  out  of  battery  just  minutes  before .     ‘    shit .    ‘   settling  down  on  the  side - walk , hands  running  through  his  raven  colored  hair , changmin  tried  to  distract  himself  with  a  cigarette , but  of  course  his  lighter  was  in  his  other  pants .   ‘    jesus  lord   .   .   .  testing  me  today  .  .  . ’  with  that ,  he  stood  up  and  made  his  way  toward  the  nearest  place  with  any  sign  of  life .   ‘     you  got  any  light  ?   ’

hello frands !! it is me, admin c, introducing my final and most fire muse, bok emrys otherwise known as rhys. beneath the cut you can find a couple of pointers and basics on him, like this for plotting as you can expect and i’ll get to those im’s as fast as i can !! you can find his stats here for some idea and overview of him:

SANGWOO : that’s not what i meant and there’s always more to be learned. but do you really think one of those rich idiots could do a better job than i could ? i’d almost like to see them try. SANGWOO : i’ll admit i’m a little surprised that you’d be up for that. it’s a hot idea, but i also like the idea of getting handsy in a drive thru theater. maybe we could do both ? SANGWOO : i’d do something for you that’s your choice, but if not it’s my choice.

             ❝  no  ,  i  like  having  you  in  my  life  as  my  brother .  i  just  don’t  think  you  should  be  making  a  fuss  over  me   ,  that’s  all  .  ❞  she  smiles  softly  at  his  next  words  ,   nodding  thankfully  at  the  validation  he  offers  so  seamlessly  . it’s  what  she  needs  ,  what  she  craves  ,  in  life  despite   knowing  she  shouldn’t  .  not  from  anyone  other  than  herself  ,   anyway  ,  but  that  doesn’t  seem  to  stop  anything  .  jinae   returns  the  squeeze  offered  by  the  other  before  taking  the   tea  is  taken  into  her  grasp  .  slender  digits  wrap  around  the cup  gently  ,  allowing  the  warmth  to  seep  into  her  bones  and provide  her  yet  another  layer  of  comfort  and  she  chuckles  .   ❝  you’re  probably  right  about  that  ,  but  it’s  not  my  fault   ,  ❞  she  takes  a  quick  sip  ,  then  proceeds  to  playfully   feign  her  innocence  ,  ❝  i  grab  only  what  speaks  to  me   ——  if  the  whole  store  decides  to  do  that  ,  who  am  i  to deny  the  wishes  of  the  universe  ,  right  ?  ❞   her  nose  scrunches  ,  eyes  closed  for  a  moment  ,  when  she   feels  his  hand  on  her  face  .  she  takes  yet  another  sip  of   her  drink  ,  releasing  a  sigh  afterwards  .  it’s  a  happy  one   ,  already  feeling  much  better  than  before  ,  she  knew  all  she needed  was  his  company  (  and  to  have  their  shared  interests  to  distract  her  )  .  

             ❝   i  have  so  much  to  teach  you  ,  young  grasshopper  .  don’t   worry  ,  though  .  i’ll  make  sure  i  teach  you  all  the  cool   stuff  first  ,  ❞  the  elder  ends  her  words  with  a  wide  grin   .  amber  hues  fall  towards  her  cup  when  she  hears  ry  speak   again  ,  ❝  quit  your  worrying  ,  okay  ?  ❞  her   tone  is  low  and  smooth  ,  ❝  i’m  fine  .  you  know  ,  things   like  this  happen  and  there  are  people  who  have  it  worse  than i  do  ,  so  it’s  really  no  big  deal  .  i  just  needed  some   time  to  wallow  ,  but  i’ve  done  that  .  i  have  no  regrets   and  i’m  over  it  now  ,  ❞  the  latter  sentence  isn’t  the  most   truthful  thing  to  ever  come  out  of  her  mouth  ,  but  it   wasn’t  necessarily  a  lie  either  .  the  younger’s  comment  on   daeseong  elicits  another  laugh  ,  her  head  shaking  ,  ❝  he’s   always  conscious  of  them  ,  ry  .  i  don’t  want  to  text  him  , though  .  i’d  rather  just  show  up  at  his  door  where  he   can’t  ignore  me  and  i  can  actually  see  his  face  .  anyway  ,   that’s  not  for  you  to  worry  about  either  ,  silly  .  i  told   you  ,  i’m  fine  .  let’s  talk  about  you  .  ❞  jinae  allows  her index  finger  to  feather  against  his  forehead  ,  (  barely  )  pushing  him  back  .  ❝  have  you  been  busy  lately  ?  what  have  i  missed  the  last  three  days  ,  hm  ?  tell  me  everything  .  ❞

    ‘ well that’s in my nature. and also i am almost certain it was a requirement on the ‘ideal older brother’ form i filled out when i signed up for this’ he joked back with a fond roll of his eyes as he rearranged the girls hair into place. he watches the girl melt into all the comfort she is currently sheltered and embedded in and wishes he could provide more, could provide it all the time. it wasn’t that jinae was an overly broken bird of a person, she was optimistic and hopeful and always saw the best in everyone until she quite literally couldn’t any longer. and he knew daeseong made her blossom and ignite like this beautiful flare of life and joy and had done since they were tiny, or what he would consider tiny even if she was the older one. it had never felt that way, and ry couldn’t care less, it didn’t bother him one bit. he’d always wanted to be the older, reliable one. he felt needed and important filling out the role and he never wanted to lose that or the precious girl he provided it for. he could imagine no other sister. he just wishes that he could witness jinae’s bright and radiant moments even more. ‘ quite right. the universe already has all our pathways written, so really you have utterly no choice and the universe would only lead you towards the best for you so i suppose you just have to make do’ he teased back as he smiled the most sincerely he could at the girls much more clairvoyant composure. the sense of achievement which overtook when he could tell he had fulfilled his responsibility and given her the most love he could was inexplicable. 

BABY: of course it is, look at us  BABY: listen, i exhausted myself making sure you looked good as hell. by time it was ready for me to get ready, i was out of energy. (not that i’m complaining) BABY: ok, honestly, that idea is amazing. throw some pretzels and grapes in and you have all my love BABY: i’ll scoop you up in like 5, meet me at the corner

HARLEY: depends on what it is. HARLEY: okay, but how would i get to your car if i couldn’t walk, hm? your mind went there first, asshole. i was just following your train of thought. HARLEY: it wasn’t, i was just stating facts. i didn’t say it was the way i personally viewed you. if you think it’s a compliment and it makes you feel better, tho, go ahead. HARLEY: LOL like that’d ever happen. trust me, he’s more than enough and the only reason i’m not giving him my full attention yet is because i had some paperwork to finish up. soon as that’s done, i’ll be all his.

          the  i  love  you  that  falls  from  his  lips  warms   her  from  the  inside  out  ,  allowing  the  grief  to  lessen  ,   even  if  only  by  a  little  .  he’s  always  been  good  at  that  ; taking  care  of  her  despite  her  being  the  older  one  .  she   makes  a  mental  note  to  reevaluate  herself  ,  she’s  the   one  who’s  meant  to  take  care  of  others  ,  not  the  other  way   around  .  why  has  that  been  so  difficult  for  her  as  of  late  ?  maybe  this  is  why  i  shouldn’t  leave  the  studio  . a  grin  brightens  her  visage  when  she  hears  that  he’s  got   her  favorite  tea  blend  on  standby  ,  for  no  one  other  than   her  ,  but  she  waits  to  comment  on  it  until  she’s  back  in   the  kitchen  .  ❝  you’re  too  good  to  me  ,  you  know  that  ?  i thank  the  universe  for  you  every  day  .  ❞  she  shakes  her   head  before  she’s  taken  into  his  embrace  ,  ❝  no  ,  i’m   really  not  .  i  was  being  selfish  when  i  got  it  for  you   because  focusing  on  someone  else  was  just  easier  in  the   moment  ,  but  i’d  be  lying  if  i  told  you  i  didn’t  get   myself  some  stuff  ,  too  .  ❞  she  offers  a  reassuring  smile  , ❝  they  had  a  lot  of  incenses  that  spoke  to  me  and  some   other  stuff  i  got  for  my  altar  ——  and  you  know  i  can’t   go  to  one  of  those  places  without  getting  some  crystals  .  ❞  

             when  rhys  comments  on  the  name  of  the  sage  ,  she  chuckles  . she  knows  him  ,  she’s  happy  to  say  she  actually  knows  him  well  , which  means  jinae  knows  his  aesthetic  and  these  fit  perfectly .  ❝  yeah  ,  that’s  what  i  thought  .  the  dragon’s  blood   itself  is  really  cool  ,  it’s  been  used  for  centuries  ,   especially  in  medicine  ,  because  of  it’s  healing  properties   and  everything  .  it’s  interesting  ,  if  you  ever  want  to  look into  it  because  it  can  be  used  in  all  sorts  of  stuff  .  ❞   she  separates  the  two  ,  removing  herself  from  his  side  to   take  the  nearest  seat  in  the  kitchen  .  she’s  tired  ,  though   she  doesn’t  wish  for  the  other  to  realise  it  anymore  than  he already  has  yet  .  ❝  i  appreciate  the  offer  ,  ry  ,  but  … ❞  her  mind  shifts  to  another  and  she  feels  herself  grow   more  dejected  ,  ❝  i  sorta  just  up  and  left  without  saying   anything  to  anyone  ,  so  i  imagine  i  might  be  in  the   doghouse  with  dae  and  i  don’t  wanna  stay  there  for  too  long   .  ❞  another  sigh  is  released  ,  ❝  and  i’ll  feel  even  worse   than  i  do  now  if  i  just  don’t  acknowledge  it  or  his   feelings  ,  so  i’m  gonna  try  to  stop  by  and  see  him  .   eventually  .  whenever  i  feel  better  because  i  don’t  want  him   to  worry  more  than  he  might  already  be  .  can  i  take  a  rain check  ,  though  ?  ❞

        ry gives her a slight questioning glance over, over his shoulder as he pours his efforts into making her the perfect brew. he knows she normally has an issue with the fact he takes such care of her, insisting it’s supposed to be her job as she’s older but he couldn’t care less for her logic on that matter. jinae needed more people to worry about and fuss over her, she had daeseong and azami now but that was no reason the family she’d found shouldn’t grow in their efforts to shower and shelter her in love. if there was anyone in this world deserving of it, he thought surely it had to be jinae, by anyone’s standards. she’d be feeling she’d failed her duty tenfold today, if the grief she embodied was anything to go by but ry wouldn’t allow for it. ‘ oh hush up, there’s no such thing as a brother being too good to his sister. which is what you are, like it or not ’ he comments, he’s hoping that he’ll be able to stop her mind from wandering too much so she wouldn’t overthink small things on top of her already heavy grief and palpable guilt. ‘ that’s not selfish nae, its just a way of coping. and it’s way healthier than any of the ways i used to. you haven’t done anything wrong ’ he tuts, hoping she realizes without him over compensating with words, that he means about more than just the shopping, the entire day really, before nodding encouragingly and looking with pride as she explained her purchases. ‘ of course not, they must make a good earning off of you in an hour alone nae, i’d say you’re doing a favor ’ he chuckles as he hands off her tea to her, with a warming smile and squeeze of her hand briefly before he lets go to take his own

HARLEY: what makes you think i give advice for free? HARLEY: i mean. you did just say it’d make it easier for you to pick me up and considering i couldn’t walk very well if i did what i said, it’s only logical that you meant physically picking me up. which means /you/ admitted that you wanted to touch me. HARLEY: look at you?? why assume when i know; don’t play me for a fool. HARLEY: i don’t think i’ll get bored because he’s so good at what he does, but on the off chance i do, i’ll forget you exist. don’t worry 😘
