MOTHER, please donât stop writing about Suna đ Iâm still waiting for your updates. I love your work so much.
hi! first of all, i wanna say SORRY FOR REPLYING SO LATE ;-;
will i still write for suna? â YES
will i see Sight to completion? â YES
when will i update? đľâđŤ I DONâT KNOW
as mentioned in my previous answers, i already have the rest of Sight outlined. i just need to be able to write them into a piece that iâll love and feel confident to post.
i also have a couple of wips in my drafts which i plan to revisit (in hopes of getting the sparks back).
i wanna say thanks to everyone who still reads/re-reads my works and i appreciate the comments and likes i see from when i open tumblr from time to time.
a bit of life update no one asked for: 2025 has been a rollercoaster ride of a year for me â i got more responsibilities at work, made new friends, lost some, fell in love, got my heart broken. overall, the perfect factors to stir up some angst? đ¤ (kidding!)
WELP. to OP, sorry for going on a long tangent lol. thanks for the ask, and iâll assure you, iâll continue writing for suna (and haikyuu). thank you for loving my works and letting me know.
hi, anon! if you're asking about Sight, the answer is YES!
i'm not just sure how long it will take for me to update. i shared in another response to an ask that I'm currently having a hard time writing an update as i end up deleting what i write whenever i re-read.
hopefully, i can clutch an update before the year ends (or before suna's birthday lol)
i'm asking for your patience with the update! thanks for reading tho. i really appreciate it.
Girl (is this an okay term? I'm sorry if it isn't), I LOVE sight and your other fics as well. I still remember reading one day in Ao3 before and the happiness I felt when I read that, which I still get in your newer ones ;-; i just wanna say I really REALLY love your work, and I always look forward to your every update.
That said, I just wanna say, please prioritize your wellbeing first! Art isn't something that should be rushed or forced. Take your time writing it when you're ready, and we'll be here to devour it once you uploaded it. Please don't be too pressured to update just because it's been a while âşď¸
Hey there! Thank you so much for this message, it means a lot. Ah, "One Day" mention; I'm so happy! It's one of my fave haikyuu fics, tbh. You're so sweet and I can't thank you enough for loving my work!
I also really appreciate the latter part of your message. I do admit it gets pressuring sometimes and I think I might be being too hard on myself. I hope I can give you all an update that meets expectations as soon as possible.
I plan to re-read Sight soon so I can write an update that I'll actually like. Hopefully, I won't end up deleting it HAHAHA.
its beenâ idk how many days, but i still think abt ur suna fic series :') i hope u come back but i also hope ur okay !
heyyyy.
sorry for the late reply - as you may have guessed, life has been too hectic for me.
full transparency: i haven't written a single word for the next update of Sight. i began shortly after updating part 6 but i hated what i wrote so i ended up deleting it. rest assured though, that I'll make sure to see it through the end. i already have an outline, anyway.
and this message is not only for you, but to all the other Sight readers: THANK YOU. thank you for the support and love you've been giving my story through the years. i hope i can give back to all of you.
hopefully, things will settle down soon for me. and that i can finally resume writing for Sight again.

part one ŕźâ part two ŕźâ part three ŕźâ part four ŕźâ part five
Suna Rintarou swears he isnât keeping track, but his stupid brain screams the number at him. Itâs been twenty-five days of torture - his mind plagued with thoughts of wanting to kiss you.
Kiss you, kiss you, kiss you, kiss you, kiss you.
Heâs had the urge in the past but all of those times were out of the haze of sexual intimacy. His current dilemma, which began 25 days ago, is something else.
It had been a mundane Saturday morning. The kids were already up and engrossed in the TV show they both loved so much. Suna was in the kitchen, trying to be of help as you prepared breakfast.
The menu for that day was sunny side-ups paired with hotdogs. You were trying to show him how to perfectly crack eggs open when he moved to stand beside you to look closer. Your hand slipped, spoon cracking against the egg and he laughed. You moved to chastise him and in turn, the egg white from the cracked shell plopped against him.
With widened eyes, you gasped and then, backed with a barely contained giggle, apologized to him. The sound of your laughter was sweet and the way your eyes turned into little crescents tugged at Sunaâs heart.
At that moment, he badly wanted to kiss you - to feel your laughter through your lips.
Now, he finds himself at the balcony of your bedroom, eyes turned towards the moonless sky with a lollipop in his mouth. Through the open door, he can hear the faint sound of the shower and he groans, urging his mind to not stray towards other thoughts.
He feels foolish with these emotions that youâre bringing out of him. Granted, theyâre not unfamiliar, but itâs been several years since heâs had these feelings. And truth be told, Suna never thought heâd feel this way again: wanting to love someone.
He knows what heâs feeling for you is more than just platonic. But Suna is also pretty sure that he isnât in love with you.
Yet.
âRin?â Your voice breaks him out of his thoughts. âWould you mind closing the door? The breeze is coming through.â He sees that youâre now done with your shower, robe wrapped around your body with a towel in your hand.
He bites off the remaining lollipop and chucks the stick at the small bin by the balcony. Shortly after, he joins you in the room but not before making sure the door is securely locked behind him.
The smell of your green-apple hair conditioner hits him almost immediately. Itâs a scent he has ignored for years but now that heâs free from his pride to admire every little thing about you, he basks in the scent. He then makes his way to the vanity. âDo you need help drying your hair off?â
Your curious eyes meet his through the mirror and after a few slow blinks, you nod. He takes over the towel and you open a drawer to bring out the dryer.
For a few moments, your eyes watch him work with the towel, gently squeezing clumps of your hair for the last drops of water possible. Then, before passing the hair-blower to him, you say, âYouâre gonna end up with cavities given all the candies and lollipops youâve been having.â
âTheyâre working, though,â he replies. âI havenât smoked in over a month.â
You smile at him. âIâm so proud of you.â And then, as if deciding on what to say next, you add, âI wish there is another alternative so you wonât have to take too much sweets.â
Maybe itâs the proud look on your face. Maybe itâs the way your lips pucker out in a cute pout. Or maybe, heâs just so tired of counting the days.
Finally, Suna says, âWhat about a kiss?â
The way your eyes immediately widen is almost comical. âW-what?â
Suna only laughs as he takes the hair dryer from you, the brief skin contact making you blush. He shakes his head, smiling. âNothing.â
âHuh?â you try to turn around so youâre face to face but he places a hand on your shoulder.
âStay still.â
âButâŚâ
âY/N. Letâs dry your hair first, okay?â
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
Drying oneâs hair is supposed to take around five to ten minutes only, but after Rintarouâs question, it feels like itâs taking an hour. Itâs not helping that heâs standing so close to you, hands gently drying your hair, warmth radiating from his body.
Once finished, you immediately turn on the seat. âRin.â
âY/N.â
The question comes to the tip of your tongue but never leaves your mouth. You bite your lip instead and avoid eye contact. âN-nevermind.â
As you try to stand, Rintarou stops you. âYouâre cute when you blush, did you know that?â
You donât answer, knowing full well that his remark only made your already flushing cheeks redden even more.
Suna sighs before cupping your cheek tenderly, urging you to look at him. Once your eyes meet his, he rubs a gentle circle on your skin. âI want to kiss you.â
It feels like your heart is beating a hundred miles per minute. Did you hear him correctly? He wants to kiss you? Suna Rintarou, the man who never kissed you in the five years youâve been married? Suna Rintarou, the man who didnât bother to kiss you on your wedding day?
I want to kiss you.
A lot of things have changed in the past months but still, Suna manages to surprise you. You feel like a teenager navigating romance for the first time again.
Another gentle rub on your cheek brings you back to the present, where Suna is saying he wants to kiss you. âWell? Are you going to allow me to kiss you, Y/N?â
Your only response is a meek nod to which Suna shakes his head. âI want you to say it. Tell me that you want me to kiss you.â
He never once breaks eye contact as he says those words. The urge to look away is so strong, for you feel like the longer you stare into Sunaâs eyes, all the emotions inside of you will break out. Burst into a bubble that would consume you. Itâs going to be cool, but suffocating.
Instead, your eyes remain on him, trying to decipher if thereâs any ill-intentions in them.
You only see sincerity⌠and pained longing. As if every minute youâre not asking him to kiss you is bringing him immense pain.
But kissing him⌠itâs going to be a big step in your relationship. Granted, the two of you have been sleeping with each other again. But kissing is an entire thing different from sex. Youâve never kissed during sex before. Kissing him now would meanâŚ
Rin doesnât speak with words, but the way his thumb grazes your cheek once more tells you that heâs waiting. Finally, you decide to pocket the fears you have about kissing him. âKiss me, Rin.â
He exhales in relief as he leans down and the distance between your lips get smaller and smaller and smaller and you get the sweet taste of his strawberry lollipop from earlier.
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
Goodbye, 25 days. Suna thinks to himself that night, as you lay sleeping beside him.
Itâs just a kiss, but he canât stop himself from feeling warm at the memory of your lips against his.
Itâs just a kiss, but he feels like heâs on top of the world.
Itâs just a kiss, but when he finally falls asleep that night, a stupid smile is on his face.
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
In the following days, Suna learns that he has found a new addiction.
Waking up in the morning? A kiss on your lips.
Thanking you after finishing a meal? A kiss on your lips.
Saying goodbye before leaving for work? A kiss on your lips.
Seeing you after arriving at home? A kiss on your lips.
Itâs not just even the feeling of your lips against his that makes him addicted to it - heâs also enamored by your reaction every time you kiss.
The way your breath hitches a little as your lips meet, and the soft sigh you let out once you part almost always bring a flood of warmth to his chest.
âAre you going out today or staying home for work?â Since youâve been getting better, you have started to resume working again.
If it were up to Suna, he wouldnât want you to work at all. Your current job is not demanding at all, minimal reports needed. He remembers helping you get it five years ago, when you had opened up to him about the missed opportunity after your graduation. Still, he knows you enjoy what little you do at work, so he canât ask you to leave it.
âIâll stay in today,â he hears your response. âIâll visit the office on Friday.â
He makes a mental note to himself. âOkay.â And then, âDo we have any plans this weekend?â
He adjusts the cuffs of his long-sleeved shirt as he hears you hum in contemplation. âAh! Hajime invited us for Kentaâs birthday party this coming Saturday, right?â
Of course. Suna remembers the conversation two weeks before. He remembers trying to tame the jealousy brewing deep within him as the older man talked to you. He knows he has nothing to be jealous about. Youâre just naturally sweet and friendly while Iwaizumi apparently started seeing someone.
âI almost forgot,â he confesses as he approaches you to where youâre lounging at the sofa. Youâre currently waiting for your laptop to finish installing its update before you start work. âDo we have a gift already?â
âI actually ordered something but itâs stuck in one of the sorting hubs. If it doesnât arrive by Friday, maybe we can drop by the mall or something?â
âOkay. Iâll go now, then. See you later.â He crosses the short distance between you, hand already cupping your face as he kisses you goodbye.
And if Suna is smiling while driving on the way to work, thinking about your goodbye kiss, then no one has to know.
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
Express delivery, as is turns out, do not always live up to its name. Itâs now Friday and the package carrying your gift for Kenta has made no movement from the sorting hub. Youâre at your table at work, waiting for Rin to pick you up after you texted him that you would need to drop by the mall first.
The children are at their grandparents since this morning and youâll be picking them up when you and Rin go to their house for breakfast tomorrow. You look at the picture on your phone. Rintarou is splayed on the bed with the twins all over him. Itâs from last weekend, when your kids had come to wake the two of you up.
Your heart is instantly flooded with warmth and joy. You didnât think itâs going to be possible, but years later, here you are with a happy family despite of the circumstances. You couldnât ask for more.
The notification on your phone alerts you that Rin is almost at your office building. You bid goodbye to your colleagues. As the door to the elevator begins to close, you see a woman rushing towards it. Luckily, youâre able to press the âhold doorâ button immediately.
âThank you,â the woman sighs in relief as she shoots you a grateful, sweet smile. Sheâs an unfamiliar face, which is not a surprise to you since you rarely visit the office and interact with people outside of your core department.
âNo problem,â you reply while mirroring her smile, before turning your gaze ahead.
Youâre about to settle on that elevator silence between strangers when the woman speaks. âFor a building with over 30 floors, youâd think they have more than three working elevators.â
You hum in agreement. âThe âunder constructionâ signs at the other two elevators have been there forever, right?â
âOh, really? I wouldnât know.â She lets out a small laugh. âIâve only been here for two weeks. Iâm in a contractual project, actually.â
The elevator doors open and you two walk out, still conversing. âAh, may I ask what project?â
âHitomi-chanâs passion project,â the woman replies with a smile. âIâm in-charge of photography.â
You feel foolish only noticing the camera bag slung on her left shoulder. âI see. You must be very good, then. Hitomi knows to pick partners well.â
A sweet laughter spills from her again, her cheeks blushing a little. âYouâre too kindâŚâ
âY/N,â you reply, as you both approach the exit.
The woman extends a hand. âNice to meet you, Y/N. You can call me Serin.â
âItâs nice to meet you as well, Serin.â
A security staff of the building approaches the two of you. âYour husbandâs car just pulled up at the parking area, Mrs. Suna.â
Serinâs grasp on your handshake falters a little. âOh, you need to go?â
âYes. See you around the office, Serin.â
She gives you one last smile before waving goodbye. âSee you around!â
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
Youâre only supposed to buy a gift for Kenta but two hours at the mall later, you and Suna are pushing one big cart of shopping carts each. You donât talk as you navigate the parking space, but the exchange of smiles and grins speaks a lot.
âWhy did we buy so much?â You ask as you watch Rin load the bags into the car. âWeâre such impulsive buyers, oh god.â
âHey, donât feel bad splurging sometimes. We all deserve to spoil ourselves once in a while.â
âIs that why you bought a large fox plushie?â Your voice is laced with teasing. âI didnât know youâre into stuffed toys.â
Suna loads the last bags before closing the door. âI bought that for you, though.â He takes your hand and leads you to the front passenger seat, opening its door. âAnd donât act as if you werenât looking at it with heart eyes when I showed it to you.â
You make yourself comfortable in the seat. âSure.â
Suna scoffs playfully before shaking his head as he swats your hand away and puts the belt on you himself. âOkay, youâre never allowed to hold it ever, then.â
You fake gasp. âReally? Then that makes me sad.â
He leans in and kisses against the pout on your lips. âYouâre so cute, Y/N,â he says once he pulls away.
âAnd youâre so silly, Rin.â This time, youâre the one who leans in and pecks his lips. As youâre about to pull away, you feel Sunaâs hand on your head before he tries to deepen the kiss.
A small whine leaves your lips and gets swallowed by Suna immediately before he finally pulls away.
âRinâŚâ
Youâre breathing heavily and heâs in no better situation. His eyes have darkened and the way he looks at you makes you squirm on the seat. You avert your gaze. âL-letâs go home.â
It takes him a beat to answer. âYeah. Okay, sure.â He pulls back, squeezes your upper thigh, and then closes the door for you. Youâre still not looking at him when he gets in the driverâs seat and maneuvers the car outside of the parking lot.
Once youâre on the road, one of his hands lets go of the wheel and reaches for you blindly before landing on your thigh. It stays there for a whole minute before you remove it. You lace your fingers together and place it on your lap instead.
Suna hums in contentment as he continues to drive, but not before squeezing your hand. You donât even notice that heâs driving at the fastest allowable speed limit.
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
Youâre glad that your children are at your in-lawsâ house as you hear the incessant and loud creaking sound of the bed, paired with the headboardâs rhythmic slamming against the wall. Rintarou is groaning against your lips as his hips are working overtime in thrusting against yours.
âFuck,â he whispers before capturing your lips in another frenzied kiss. âYou feel so damn good, shit.â Heâs heavily breathing and making lots of noise than usual.
You would have called him out for it if you were doing any better. âAh, Rin, ah⌠right there.â Your words are cut off as he kisses you again.
Tonightâs sex feels different. Itâs not only because itâs the first time you two are kissing during the deed. Right now, it feels as if Rintarou wants to tell you something through his actions.
His unforgiving thrusts continue, the onslaught of pleasure throughout your body unending. You already know youâre going to be sore tomorrow, but you canât bring yourself to ask him to be less rough. Heâs hitting all the right spots and all the sounds that youâre both making are only adding heat to the room.
âIt feels like your pussy wants to swallow me whole.â He pulls back slightly so he can see the probably messed up and fucked out expression on your face. âI love the way it pulls me in. Fuck, youâre so tight. Feels so fucking good!â
His words bring you to an unexpected orgasm and you whine with volume. It doesnât deter him as he continues his hipsâ movements. His lips are quick to silence you as he begins to move inside of you faster.
You should probably feel embarrassed with the sloppy, wet noises that your bodies are creating but it just feels so good. Your head is empty and all your mind can do is chant his name repeatedly.
Rintarou. Rin. Rintarou. Rin. Rin. Rintarou. So good.
âLouder,â his word snaps you out of your daze. Itâs when you realize that youâre now moaning his name out loud. Ironically, you feel flustered and look away from him.
His hand starts roaming around your body and settles on your left breast before he pinches on the nipple. âLook at me, I want to see you come.â
He guides your face towards him and you two meet eye-to-eye. The room feels too hot but you ignore it, trapped in your bubble of intimacy with your husband. Youâre stuck with letting out little whimpers and small exclaims of âah, ah, ahâs as Rintarou continues to move inside you.
Unlike his earlier kisses, he plants a sweet peck on the side of your lips before pulling back. âDo you feel good? Are you okay?â His voice is now soft, a stark contrast to his rough thrusts.
You can only nod before a gasp of pleasure leaves you again.
He chuckles against your lips before aiming a single hard thrust, forcing a louder moan out of you. âAm I making you feel good, Y/N?â
You nod repeatedly, hands gripping him harder. The dig of your fingers on his skin makes him groan sexily. âFuck, answer me. Do I feel good inside you, wife?â Another well-aimed thrust.
âY-yes, yes!â you finally let out. A sniffle. âItâs so good. More please, Rin. I need more.â
Rintarou doesnât deny you and quickens his pace, giving you what you want.
And everything feels right. This is what things should have been. The both of you giving and taking. The both of you feeling good and taken care of. You and Rintarou. Rintarou and you. Under a happy spell.
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
The last time you were at a party setting with Hajime, things didnât end well. However, you feel like today is a good one. For starters, you donât have the underlying pressure of making sure everything goes smoothly. And to make things better, your husband has not left your side ever since your family arrived at the venue.
Risa and Ryuu are happily playing with all the other kids while youâre at the parentsâ table, making small talk with the other guests. An older couple - Hajimeâs relatives, you think - comments on how you and Rin look good together.
You thank them, turning to your husbandâs shoulder to hide your blush. Instead, you see him smirk teasingly, an arm wrapping around your waist and pulling you closer to him.
The party goes well. Food, games, gift-givingâŚ
Hajime finally sits next to you with a small sigh, the two of you barely exchanging more than a few words within the past hour. âThis is tiring but very rewarding.â Heâs staring at the direction of his son. âAll for Kentaâs happiness.â
As if feeling his fatherâs eyes on him, the boy turns to your direction and waves, a toothy grin on his face.
âYou know, in his earlier years, I only felt resentment towards his mother.â Hajimeâs voice is tender. He rarely talks about the mother of his son, her being a touchy subject. âBut now, all I feel is gratefulness and pity. Iâm thankful because without her, I wouldnât have Kenta. I pity her, because sheâs missing out so much on how wonderful and amazing my son is.â
You canât say you truly understand what heâs feeling. Still, you acknowledge to yourself that your children do seem to be merrier ever since Rintarou joined the three of you, bonding all the time. âDid she ever try to reach out?â
Hajime shakes his head. âNo. And my attempts to talk to her were all futile.â The sad look on his face passes quickly. âYou know, Y/N, I never considered dating again. Not until Kentaâs much older. But Iâm glad I took the leap recently. She already adores Kenta and he likes her a lot, too.â
You perk up at the mention of his new lover. âIâm glad to hear that. Speaking of, I thought she was coming today?â
âShe said sheâll catch up because something came up with the project sheâs working on.â Just then, a notification pings on Hajimeâs phone. âAnd now weâve summoned her. Iâll go meet her at the door.â
You watch as your friend eagerly makes his way through the crowd. Itâs then that you decide to go on a powder room break to freshen up. On the way, you bump into your husband whoâs returning from the restroom. He tucks a hair behind your ear. âYou good?â
You look up at him, smiling. âYes.â Itâs crazy, really, how a simple gesture from Rintarou makes your heart flood with happiness.
He mirrors your smile, a bit of mischief laced in it. Rin leans closer to you and asks, âYouâre not too sore anymore?â
Blood rushes to your face and you swat at him. âPlease, donât.â
Through his arms around your side, you feel his body shake in laughter. âOkay, okay. Donât be a blushing mess. Weâre in public, Y/N.â He pulls you closer to him and plants a quick kiss on your temple. âLetâs behave from now on.â
You murmur chastising words as events from last night come back to you.
Suna had just forced you to finish drinking a glass of water, mumbling something about you needing to re-hydrate. Youâre already washed up, dressed in a pair of fluffy cotton pajamas.
âGood girl,â he murmured before placing the empty glass on the bedside table. He then propped himself up against the headboard, making sure the blankets are covering you.
The praise made you smile like a shy young girl and Rin opened his arm. You didnât allow yourself a moment of hesitation, immediately going towards his warmth. He squeezed the side of your waist as you snuggled against him.
The post-sex bliss was still surrounding you both. âWhat are you thinking?â
The sound of his heartbeat was calming, and you didnât realize it had been slowly lulling you to sleep until Rin repeated his question. Itâs been happening a lot lately - him initiating conversation, wanting the two of you to build good communication.
Maybe itâs the domesticity of snuggling in bed with your husband, or the way his hand had traveled upwards to where itâs rubbing softly against your back. You werenât exactly sure what spurred you to answer candidly. âIâm thinking that I really like you, Rin. A lot. But I guess you already knew that.â
He hummed in confirmation. You werenât expecting anything back, you knew itâs only been a few months. But much like heâs been doing, Rintarou surprises you. âIâm thinking Iâm starting to care about you. A lot. Though it may take me a lot more moments of introspection for me to truly know what I feel. But, really, Y/N, I care about you and I want you to know it, in case I havenât been clear.â
The hesitation in his voice almost made you melt. He didnât need to say it, to be honest. Youâve noticed it in all the ways he had been changing in the past several weeks. Trying to quit smoking, spending more time with you and your kids. Opening more communication between you two.
Still, the verbal affirmation is welcomed.
âThank you, Rin,â you murmured sleepily against him. âFor all your efforts.â
You vaguely heard him whisper the words back to you before you drifted off to sleep.
You pull back from hiding your face against your husbandâs body and crane your head back. He inspects your face briefly before saying, âAll good, you no longer look like a ripe tomato.â
You fake glare at him and remember where you two are. You look around and see Hajime introducing someone to his guests. Beside you, Rintarou pulls out his phone after it pings. He begins typing his reply with one hand, the other reaching for yours.
One of the things you have learned about your husband in the past months is that he can be clingy. You grasp his hand and intertwine your fingers together.
As Hajime approaches you with his new guest, your eyes widen. âSerin?â
Two distinct sounds reach your ear.
Serinâs gasp.
And the sound of a phone crashing on the floor.
Rintarou lets go of your hand as he bends down to pick his phone up.
âY/N? What a lovely surprise. Youâre friends with Hajime?â Serin is quick to give you a hug. âSuch a small world!â
You smile at her and then your at friend. âThis is⌠wow.â You turn to Rintarou whoâs now back on his feet. You reach for his hand back but he puts both his hands inside his pockets.
The look on his face tells you that his phone must have experienced serious damage.
âSerin, this is my husband, Rintarou. Rin, I met Serin at work yesterday, I didnât know sheâs the girlfriend that Hajime has been talking about. This is a nice coincidence! Donât you think so?â
The woman blinks slowly before she smiles slightly at your husband. âNice to meet you.â
To your surprise, Rintarou ignores her extended hand. Instead, he gives her a curt nod before promptly excusing himself outside.
You mask your concern and turn apologetically to Serin and Hajime. âUm, Iâm sorry about that. Maybe heâs upset about his phone.â
Serin purses her lips in a small pout. âNo worries, Y/N. Letâs talk again later, I want to go to the birthday boy now.â She shoots you a dazzling smile before dragging Hajime by the hand towards Kentaâs direction.
You sigh. As much as youâre delighted that Hajimeâs girlfriend is the same nice woman you met yesterday, you canât help but worry about Rintarou.
After a quick glance at your kids who are engrossed playing with their friends, you follow your husband outside.
Rintarou is restlessly pacing back and forth and though youâre not that physically close, you can see his brows knotted in worry.
âRin?â He pauses at your voice and looks at you with slightly wide eyes. He doesnât offer any words.
âAre you okay?â
He blinks a few times. âYeah.â And then, âJust needed space to breathe.â
Thereâs a moment of hesitation - as if he wants to say more but decides against it. He resumes his pacing and you quietly slip back inside.
The rest of the party goes relatively well and youâre glad that youâre able to spend time and converse with the other parents from the playground. Moreover, the happy giggles and wide smiles of your children filled your heart with love.
Soon enough, Rinâs earlier actions get pushed to the back of your mind.
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
It wasnât particularly a long day but as soon as you got Risa and Ryuu to fall asleep, your body starts demanding you to rest.
You barely make it through showering. Once youâre done for the night, you move to settle on your shared bed with Rintarou to see him all quiet. Heâs sitting on the bed, leg impatiently tapping on the floor.
âRin, whatâs the matter?â
He looks up, your eyes meeting briefly before he turns away. âNothing.â
In the past, you would have let it go, afraid that youâd push the wrong buttons to set him off against you. But now, given how things have changed between the two of you, you want to talk.
âYouâve been awfully quiet since we left Kentaâs party. Is something bothering you?â
It takes Rintarou a very long time to respond. When he does, it makes you think you may have misheard him.
âSorry? What did you say?â You ask, your voice gentle despite the tremors and dread building inside you.
His response comes again, louder and clearer this time. âYou.â
âRin?â
He looks you in the eye this time as he stands up. Itâs only then that you noticed he hasnât changed out of his clothes yet. âYou. The one thatâs bothering me.â
You shake your head as you begin to step closer to him. âI donât understand.â
Rintarou scoffs. âOf course you donât.â He swats away the hand that tries to touch him and it leaves you freeze in surprise.
He then makes his way towards the balcony. And youâre still standing there, left alone in the room, dumbfounded and confused.
Oddly enough, this feels like a deja vu.
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
At the beginning of your forced marriage to Suna, you knew there was a slim chance that you two would get along. He hated you, and deep down, though you never voiced it out loud, you also resented him for taking advantage of you and getting you pregnant.
But now, looking back at the past few months, you think that your relationship might actually work. Heâs no longer treating you horribly. In fact, heâd been extremely nice, getting involved in preparing for your kidsâ arrival, being supportive and caring, and overall acting friendly.
For this night, you decided to cook him a simple dinner. He had texted you earlier in the day that heâd drop by Osamuâs newly-opened restaurant to give his congratulations. You had told him itâs okay if he wanted to celebrate with his friends but Rintarou insisted that heâd much rather spend the evening with you.
You knew not to get your hopes up, that heâs just being a responsible father and husband. Still, your traitorous heart beat wildly at his last message, looking forward to seeing him come home.
Four hours later, however, the dinner you prepared is cold and youâre seated alone at the living room couch. Waiting for Rintarou who never came home at the time he promised.
Your eyes were drooping, drowsiness almost winning the long battle youâve been having against it. Finally, the door opened and Rintarou came in.
He looked utterly wasted.
You stood up in the fastest way possible for a heavily-pregnant person. âRin, what happened? You werenât answering my texts and calls. I was so worried.â
He looked up from tossing his shoes to the side. His hair was disheveled and his face was flushed, probably from drinking. âFuck off.â
The words surprised you, the venom in them strong enough to make you take a step back. You were able to regain your stance nonetheless and moved closer to him, placing a gentle hand on his arm. âHuh? Are you okay, Rin?â
âDonât call me that.â He glared at you before swatting your hand away. âYou ruined everything. Everything.â
Tears welled up in your eyes. âWhat? Rin, Iâm confused. What happened?â
He didnât answer you and instead began walking towards the stairs. You were hurt and confused but you didnât want the night to end with him ignoring you.
Being pregnant, it took you longer to arrive at your now shared room. When you opened the door, you saw that it was already a mess. Broken things everywhere, confirming your suspicions from the sounds you heard on the way to the room.
âRintarou, stop!â You tried to tell him but he whipped so fast to face you that your feet froze on the spot. âLeave me the fuck alone! You ruined my life, my everything!â
You remained unmoving, fists clenched at the sides. âI donât understand. Can you calm down, please?â
He grabbed an ornamental vase that you had placed on the dresser and threw it on the floor.
You stared at the flowers from your garden. Lying, broken, and mangled. âRin, Iâm getting scared. Please, letâs talk about whatâs wrong?â
âYou,â he finally responded. âYouâre the most wrong thing in my life.â
His words felt like dagger to your heart. You couldnât understand what was happening. Things have been going wellâŚ
âI hate your existence in my life. I hate this. I hate that I had to marry you. I hate that youâre pregnant. I hate-â
âPlease donât say that,â you begged, tears flowing down your face. âDonât.â
Rintarou laughed emptily. It pained you to see how angry and sad he looked like. âIsnât this what you wanted? To talk about whatâs wrong? Itâs you. So hereâs whatâs going to happen: since youâre adamant about keeping the babies, then fine, go ahead.
âBut I want you to know that this marriage will only be words on a paper. Do not expect anything from me. I will never be your husband. I will never be your friend. You will never mean anything to me. I will never love you. Understood?â
You could barely see him through the stream of your tears. You wished this was just a bad dream and that youâd wake up soon.
âAnswer me!â Rintarou yelled. âDo you understand?â
âY-yes.â
He kicked at the broken vase by his foot. âNow leave me the fuck alone.â
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
The memory claws at your heart and you clutch at your chest. It seems like everything from the past is repeating but this time, the pain is multiplied ten-fold.
You canât help but ask yourself as you stare at the fox plushie on your hands.
What really happened?
Can you really not be happy with Rintarou?
You lift a hand to wipe at your eyes. The other loses its grip on the toy and it drops onto the floor. You wipe your tears one more time before leaning over the bed to reach for it. It bounces against your strained grip, going further out of your reach.
It seems like the fox plush is mocking you.
You tiredly go down the bed to pick it up. However, once itâs back in your hands, you decide to just lean your back against the bedâs side instead of climbing back onto the bed.
You havenât felt this tired in a long time. Not even during your recent fight with Rintarou months ago.
You close your eyes to fight off the tears that have resurfaced, tears that never really stopped forming in your eyes. To your dismay, youâre unable to ward them off, so youâre left crying, tears escaping your closed eyes.
And as you succumb to the darkness brought by your closed lids, you wish for the pain to be gone the moment you open your eyes.
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
Outside, Suna shuts the balcony door behind him before he leans against the railing. He can hear the faint sounds of your crying but wills himself to ignore them.
Instead, he stares ahead at nothing, hoping something can drown out your sounds of sorrow. He curses under his breath until he reaches into his pocket, hand clenching tightly on the item.
Not long after, with the backdrop of the dark sky devoid of moon and any stars, the tip of a lit cigarette burns bright like a blaze.
to be continued.

thank you for reading Sight! i appreciate it so much <3
Sometimes, it takes losing someone to finally see them. He wished he knew this before, but Rintaro had to learn this the hard way.

part one ŕźâ part two ŕźâ part three ŕźâ part four ŕźâ part five

I hope you liked this update hehehe. Question! Do we resolve things quickly or go down the hard path (and curse Suna along the way?) LET ME KNOW!

Heyy, I love your fics. Can you post some tips on how to write good fics and keep your stories engaging? New writers like me would LOVE to have some guidance from you.
Sight is a chef's kissâ¨â¨â¨
OMG hellooooo. sorry for the very late response. when i saw your ask, I felt so touched but i couldnât reply right away because I didnât know what to say đ
so yeah, the reason it took me this long to answer is because iâve been trying to think hard on what tips to give. i donât even think iâm really qualified to give tips since i know i still have a lot to improve on.
but ANYWAY! i guess iâll still try! the tip iâm gonna give is to READ AND READ AND READ AND WRITE AND WRITE AND WRITE.
just keep reading and writing.
reading helps widen your vocabulary and it exposes you to a lot of things, youâd be surprised how big the world is and how there are lots of stories to tell!
personally for me, some of my ideas come from the media i consume and my own frustrations on how the story went. like, for instance, i didnât like how the plot turned and a few days later iâd find myself with a story idea like âok so what if this happened instead ofâŚâ
ALSO donât underestimate the power of cliches and tropes! if used correctly, you can write a lovely story. they still work as long as youâre able to add your own style đ
writing on the other hand helps you familiarize yourself with using the words to help you with your storytelling. it doesnât have to be perfect. trust me, some of my older works embarrass me but at the same time, iâm glad i allowed my younger self to freely write because i donât think iâll be this silly fic writer that i am today without those hehe.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LOVING MY FICS! it truly makes me happy to receive compliments (stupid impostorâs syndrome). I hope I can actively write and update here.

Surprise quick update! I know I said in the last part that things are about to get downhill starting from this chapter. However, I really enjoyed writing this one that I had to cut out the angst portion. So... this is also quite a short read. Happy reading, though!
Kindly reblog, like, and/or leave a comment if you loved this chapter and let me know what you think! xoxo
âIâm very happy, Y/N,â Dr. Hirai says in front of you as she examines the papers. âThese results look good. You havenât been stressed much lately?â
You beam at the woman. âI guess so. My headaches have rarely occurred as well.â
âGreat.â She smiles as she picks up her pen and starts to write. âIâm going to prescribe you some vitamins and supplements. But remember, rest and sleep is top priority, okay?â
You respond with a nod, akin to a child receiving instructions from their parent on the first day of school.
As you wait for Dr. Hirai to finish writing the prescription, a knock comes on the door. After the doctorâs âCome inâ, your husbandâs head peeks inside.
âHi, Doc.â He greets before looking at you. âHey. Something came up at the company and I have to go there. Would you want to wait for me at the cafe across the street?â
Other times you would have felt disappointed about his need to leave, but the mere fact that heâs informing you - through a cute peek at the door nonetheless - makes your heart flutter instead.
âOkay, sure.â
Rin shoots you a smile that almost melts your heart. âGreat. Iâll keep you posted.â
And just like that, the door closes again. You turn to Dr. Hirai to see her looking at you. âAnythingâs the matter, Doc?â
The woman just smiles before handing you the prescription. âOh, nothing, Y/N. Nothing.â
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
You watch the busy street through the window, your hand tapping a pen against your journal. Youâre not one to miss writing daily but these past several weeks, you have been too preoccupied to jot down your thoughts.
Then, thereâs also the matter of an irrational fear.
Truth be told, youâve been happy since that night Rintarou admitted his attraction to you; the night he asked you to give him a chance and for you two to get to know each other.
Youâd love to pen down those memories but thereâs a voice at the back of your head telling you that itâs a bad idea. That itâs a prelude to something terrible happening.
You place your pen on the table and flip through the older entries on your journal, only to remember the entries you are looking for are no longer in the notebookâs binder. You had them removed and placed in a box the day before you asked Rin for divorce, thinking that it's time to give up on trying to make things work for both of you.
But then, things have changed now.
Or have they really changed? That voice in your head asks in skepticism.
What if, just like before, this âpeaceâ is a fluke? What if Rin ends up hurting you again?
You close your eyes tightly and rub at your temples. You shouldnât be entertaining this kind of thoughts. Overthinking and worrying about things from five years agoâŚ
âHey, Y/N? Is that you?â A familiar voice brings you out of your thoughts and you open your eyes only to be met by a friendly smile.
âOh,â you say in pleasant surprise, âHi, Hajime. What an unexpected meeting.â
The older guy's smile widens as he gestures for the seat across you. You nod in reply, closing your journal and putting it at the side.
âWhat brings you here?â
âI had a check-up with my doctor at the hospital across the street. How about you?â
At your question, Hajime scratches his nape. You notice his ears redden and you try not to smile at how boyishly embarrassed he looks. âUm, Iâm visiting someone.â
âA friend?â
He locks eyes with you and groans at the teasing look that you know is visible on your face. âOkay, okay. Sheâs not technically a friend. I⌠met her one night through an accident, my motorcycle bumped into her. Thankfully, her injuries are not serious.â
âOh my god,â you cover your mouth in reflex. You compose yourself before continuing, âIâm assuming sheâs okay, though?â
Hajime waves his hand in front of you. âNo worries! Sheâs fine and getting better. In fact, sheâs about to get discharged tomorrow.â He suddenly clicks his tongue. âAm I bad to feel sad about her being discharged? I wonât have a reason to see her anymore.â
This time, youâre not able to stop yourself from laughing. âHajime, thatâs silly! Why wonât you just ask her out? Or her family and friends, maybe? You probably have met some of them, right?â
He smiles sheepishly and itâs a contrast to his usual demeanor when in the playground with his son. âIâm nervous to ask. Also, her familyâs not here. She very recently moved back to the country from living abroad several years before. She also mentioned she has yet to reconnect with any of her old friends.â
âOh, I see. But isnât that reason enough to ask her out, if youâre really interested in her?â
âI guess soâŚâ
Seeing the flush on your friendâs face makes you smile. âWho would have thought youâd get yourself in a classic meet-cute scenario?â
âUgh, Y/N, please stop teasing me.â You know he means to reprimand, but Hajime still joins you in your laughter.

âFuck.â Suna resists the urge to throw his phone after the screen died on him. The battery had been on the verge of dying and he couldnât find his charger anywhere. So, heâs on the way to the cafe, hoping that you didnât decide to go somewhere else.
As he approaches the entrance, it amazes him how heâs quick to spot you in a crowd now. He sees the baby pink dress youâre wearing, your cardigan looking soft and comfortable over it. He also notes that you had tied your hair into a bun, a few strands framing your face.
And then he notices youâre not alone. To his dismay, he recognizes the person youâre currently with. Before he knows it, Suna is already brisk-walking the short distance from the entrance to your table.
You notice his presence as you look up at him and smile. That very sweet and innocent smile instantly calms him down a notch. He takes a deep breath. âHey. I wasnât able to send you a message, my phone died on me.â
âThatâs okay.â Then, gesturing to your companion, you ask, âRin, you remember Hajime?â
Suna tries to sound as nonchalant as possible as he faces the man. âYeah. What brings you here?â
Hajime gives him what he assumes to be a friendly smile and Suna reminds himself that thereâs no acceptable reason why he should give in to the urge to punch the smile out of the manâs face. âI was gonna visit someone at the hospital.â
Before Suna can respond, the man quickly checks his watch as if suddenly remembering and curses under his breath. âOh, shoot. Uh, I should go.â He gives a wave before going over to the counter to make his purchase.
Suna shakes his head, a small scoff leaving his mouth. âRin,â you call his attention. âLetâs go?â He watches you zip your bag close and before you can put the strap on your shoulder, he swiftly grabs to carry it for you.
If he didnât turn his back as soon as he does so, he wouldnât have missed your blush and smile.
ËââââşËłŕź ËââââşËłŕź
Once you reach Rintarouâs car, he asks if you have your phone charger with you. As you say yes, he asks again if you would plug it in the carâs charging port as he maneuvers the car out of parking.
You do as he asks and, as you place his phone on the console, notice some things that spark your concern.
âRin?â
âYeah?â He responds, eyes ahead.
âI know we both have sweet tooth, but didnât we agree not to give Risa and Ryuu too much candy?â
âHuh?â
âLollipops and gums,â you answer, finally tearing your eyes away from the items that had caught your attention. You turn to Rin and watch as the confusion leaves his face.
To your surprise, he only chuckles in response. âThose arenât for the kids, Y/N. Theyâre mine.â
Now, itâs your turn to feel lost. âHuh?â
Rintarou bites his lips. âIâm trying to quit smoking. I heard those are nice alternatives.â
âOh.â Youâre at a loss of words for a moment, remembering the many times you have told him in the past that smoking is bad for the health. As you struggle to find what to say, Rin continues.
âItâs gonna take a while though. To be honest, this isnât the first time Iâm trying and itâs really hard.â A small laugh. âIâve been smoking even before I was legally allowed to. But god, I do hope I can finally quit this time.â He shoots you a quick smile. âI donât want my wife to leave me because of nicotine problems.â
And just like that, whatever response youâve been able to come up with in your mind gets forgotten, chased away by the butterflies in your stomach.
Rintarou has been doing this a lot lately: calling you his wife.
Of course he had done so in the past, but they were all said in mockery, with the intent to spite and hurt you. Itâs the very opposite now. He knows he makes you flustered and you know he enjoys seeing you blush.
You turn your head to look out the window, hoping he canât see your very red face. Behind you, he laughs a little. It does not help in calming the beating of your heart. âWhatâs the matter, Y/N?â
âShut up, Rin!"

MINORS DO NOT INTERACT âźď¸
Ëâ§ââââşËłâ§ŕź
If someone told you a few months ago that one morning youâd wake up to the sight of your husband watching you intently while you slept, you would have laughed at their face and dismissed them.
But alas, here you are, slowly blinking the sleep away from your eyes as you make out Rintarouâs face. You half expect him to turn away and pretend he wasnât watching you but to your surprise, he only raises an eyebrow at you. âMorningâ.
You try to sit up but immediately groan as your body protests in pain. Rintarou chuckles a little as he offers help. âToo sore?â
âAnd whose fault is that?â You retort as you let him help you while at the same time trying to hide your blushing face, knowing that youâre miserably failing.
Rin hums before replying with a smirk. âI definitely wasnât the one who sugggested for moreâŚâ
Your eyes widen before you playfully swat his hands away. He laughs again, the sound foreign to your ears not but unwelcome. You silently hope youâll be able to hear it a lot more often soon. âRintarou!â
The two of you are interrupted by the sound of incessant knocking on your bedroom door. It prompts you to look at the clock. âOh my god, itâs late!â
Rintarou tilts his head to the side. âItâs Saturday though?â
Before you can answer, the sound of your kidsâ concerned voices rings through the door. âMom? Dad? Where are you⌠Weâre scared.â
You hear a muffled groan from your husband as he pulls away from you and you hastily get yourself prepared.
~~~
Suna watches as you cook pancakes for breakfast. He can hear the kids playing in the living room, the sound of the cartoons they had insisted to âwatchâ playing in the background.
âIs it not tiring?â
You send him a curious glance before returning your attention to the pan. âCooking?â
âAll the house work,â he clarifies as he moves from the kitchen island to join you near the stove. âYou never tried to ask if we could hire a new helper when Jiri left.â
He feels you tense a bit once heâs standing close to you. âI like doing all the work.â
âStill, a little help would have been nice, right?â
Heâs surprised when you turn to him, an outstretched hand holding a spatula. With a smile, you tell him, âNot from a stranger.
Suna reluctantly takes the tool from you and you laugh a liittle. âYou donât know how to cook?â He feels sheepish as he nods. You purse your lips. âOkay. Maybe you can help with other chores.â
As you try to take the spatula back from him, Suna softly grasps your hand. The action surprises even him.
âWhat?â He tries to conceal a smirk as he notices the faint blush beginning to color your face.
âIâd like it if we spend a few hours every week where you teach me the ways around the kitchen.â
âIâm not really good at cooking. Why donât you ask Osamu instead?â
Suna gives you a rather mischievous smile as he maneuvers your hands so that the spatula is placed on the counter. Your fingers are intertwined, his wedding ring digging into yours âIâm not married to Osamu, why would I want to spend time in the kitchen with him?â
~~~
âGrandpa, Grandma, Mommy and Dad almost burned the kitchen!â You watch as Risa. runs towards her grandmotherâs open arms while Ryuu runs to his grandfather.
Rintarouâs mother sends you a curious look and before you can respond, he goes to her and kisses her on the cheek. âWe just got pre-occupied.â
The statement makes Rintarouâs mother let out an excited squeal as she beams at you. âAre we going to expect some good news soon?â
You instantly blush, realizing what she was implying. âT-Thatâs notâŚ"
âHoney,â Your father-in-law says as your husband hands him the kidsâ bags. âDonât embarrass them like that.â
The statement reminds you that over the past years, the two of you have somehow managed to convince Sunaâs parents that after the forced marriage, you were able to actually work out together as a couple. Though you wonder how stories of Rinâs numerous affairs manage to evade them.
You go and give goodbye hugs to your children. âYou two behave, okay?â
Ryuu nods and smiles at you, his smile very similar to his fatherâs. âYes, Mommy. Risa is the one who doesnât behave.â
Your daughterâs protests die down as you plant a kiss on the top of her head. âShh, Risa. Donât listen to your brotherâs teasing.â
Rintarou laughs a little as he ruffles the kidsâ hairs one after the other. âDonât give your grandma and grandpa headaches, okay?â
âOkay, Dad!"
As soon as Rinâs parents and the kids drive off, youâre left alone with him. âI should probably go do laundryâŚâ
âDo you need help?â He asks as he shuts the front door.
âNot reallyâŚâ
âButâŚ?"
A small smile finds its way to your lips. âBut if you want to help, Iâm not gonna stop you.â
~~~
When you let Rintarou help you in doing the laundry, you werenât expecting that it wouldnât be the only thing heâd be⌠doing. You can barely recall the things leading to your current predicament: you seated on top of the washing machine as Rin slowly thrusts into you.
âShit,â he curses against your ear hotly. âThis feels so good.â
Your grip on his bicep tightens at the pleasure coursing through your body. âRin, Iâm almost there.â
At your words, his movements speed up. His heavy pants not helping you hold back your release. You tighten around him and just as you reach your orgasm, Rin thrusts harder. âFuck, fuck, fuck, fuck! Iâm gonna cum.â
Groans and heavy breathing reverberate in the laundry room as youâre both trying to recover from your orgasms.
Heâs the one who catches his breath first. âIâm gonna pull out, okay?â
Too exhausted to come up with a reply, you only nod your head. However, the drag of his cock as he pulls out makes you whine in sensitivity and you reach out to his arm to try to slow him down.
âFuck, sorry.â You close your eyes as you feel your mixed liquids beginning to slip out. Neither of you try to wipe them.
Rin breaks the silence before it can fully take place. âI have a question.â
âHmm?â
âHow come you never got pregnant despite the times I fucked you in the last four years?â
Despite your current position, his question still makes you blush. You only mutter one word. âContraceptives.â
Heâs quiet for a while. âI see.â
~~~
For the rest of the day, Rintarou helped you in doing the house chores. But for every time you finish one task, you somehow find yourself doing some sort of⌠intimate act with him.
âListen, Iâm happy to hear that youâre both spending more time together,â Sacha says over the phone. âBut itâs concerning me that all you do is have sex. Do you two even talk?â
Youâre currently propped against your bed while Rin is in the shower. You look at the door to the bathroom before turning back to your phone screen, where Sacha is currently doing her night skincare routine. âWe do talk⌠just about regular stuff.â
Even through Facetime, you can hear the deep sigh from your friend. âThatâs not good. At all.â
You know it as well but truth be told, youâre scared to initiate deep or serious talks with your husband, the last time being when you asked him for divorce. âIâm aware but I donât know how to bring it up. What if he decides to block me out again?â
Sacha gently taps the moisturizing cream on her cheek for better absorption. âThen this resolve of him trying to make your marriage work is a big fucking joke. Make sure to call him out.â
Itâs your turn to let out a deep sigh. âOkay. Iâll try to find the perfect time to bring it up.â
In the background, you hear the shower turning off. âIâll be hanging up now, âCha. Talk to you again soon.â
âSure, dear. And see you soon?â
âYeah, see you soon.â
Sacha waves through the screen and makes a kissy face. âBye! Love you!â You smile at your friend as you faintly hear the sound of the bathroom door opening.
âLove you too, bye!â
As the call ends, you feel Rintarou looking at you. You meet his gaze. âWhat is it?â
He blinks, as if only now realizing that he was staring. âNothing,â he replies as he makes his way across the room to retrieve clothes.
Just like the night before, you try your hardest not to watch him, ignoring the way droplets of water slide from the tips of his hair down to his nape.
You try to break the silence that was starting to take over the room. âHow was today? Doing chores with me?â
You can tell your question surprises him and you canât even blame him. In your attempt to make small talk, that was the first thing that popped into your mind.
Suna pulls a gray tank top over his head as he wears sweats. He walks over to you after he drapes his towel against the chair by the vanity. âFun, I guess.â
He stops at the edge of the bed, still standing, and cocks his head to the side as if daring you to ask him more questions. You decide to take the challenge. âWhich parts were fun?â
Rintarouâs answer is immediate. âSpending time with you.â
In response, you can already feel the blood rushing to your cheeks, especially since the next question is already leaving your mouth. âYou mean the part where we have sex?â
You half expect him to laugh, his lips curving into his signature smirk. Instead, he looks into your eyes seriously. âNo. I meant the part where you were telling me what you usually do and showing me how I can help. I liked watching the way your brows furrow in concentration and the way your lips pout when youâre trying to think of how to explain stuff to me.â
He retains the eye contact as he finishes talking. When you donât respond, he finally moves again and joins you on the bed. âY/N.â
Your breath hitches as Suna comes closer. âY-Yes?â
âWe need to talk.â
You nod slowly, still processing whatâs currently happening.
Rin shakes his head. âThatâs not talking.â
You clear your throat. âOkay.â A long inhale. âWhat do you want to talk about?â
âUs.â His hand moves to hold yours but at the last second, he pulls back, putting it at his side instead. âI meant it when I told you weeks ago that I want to make our marriage work. But itâs not just about us not fighting anymore and being on good terms. Itâs not just about me stopping with my cruel treatment of you from before.
âDo you know what the hardest part was for me for the past years? Fighting my attraction to you. What Iâm trying to say is, I actually want a relationship with you, not just have marriage as merely a label.â
You open your mouth to speak but he puts a finger against it. âLet me finish, please?â The pleading look in his eyes, partnered with the gentleness with which he put his finger against your lips, urges you to nod in agreement.
âI know I was a horrible person to you. I took advantage of you when you were drunk because I was young and stupid and rebellious. Actually, I think Iâm still stupid because when we were forced to get married, I threw away the chance of making it up to you and still treated you harshly. Instead of apologizing, I resented you because I thought you were taking away from me my freedom.
âAnd thatâs fucked up because I was the one who took everything away from you. So, really. I donât think I can ever apologize enough for everything I put you through. In fact, I know I donât deserve your forgiveness. But if you ever decide to forgive me and give me a chance to make it up to you, I would cherish it.
âYouâre beautiful, Y/N, and Iâm not just pertaining to your physical appearance. You have a beautiful heart and soul, youâre a beautiful person who does not deserve everything that happened to you because of me. Iâm sorry, I donât think I will ever stop apologizing to you. But still, I want to have another real chance with you.
âIâve been denying my attraction to you for years and Iâm now tired of running away. I want to know you more, Y/N. And in return, I want you to know me as well. Will you give us a chance?â
Surely, he must be able to hear the loud thumping of your heart. Youâre at a loss of words. This is the most he has ever spoken to you.
Suna looks at you gently. âYou donât have to answer right away.â
You know that, but still, you reach for his hand on the bed. âWhen I was younger and read stories of people giving second chances, I always got frustrated. Why would they risk getting hurt by the same person again? I told myself I would never make the same decisions as them.â
He adjusts your hands so that he can rub his thumb against your palm. His eyes do the talking for him. âGo on.â
âYet, look at me. Weeks ago, I agreed to give our marriage a chance. And just now⌠I want to tell you that I feel the same about wanting to start over again. I want us to get to know each other more.
âI donât know whatâs next to come, if weâll even have a happy ending. But I want to take the risk with you, Rin.â
Your eyes meet his and the sincerity in them almost makes you tear up. You remain with locked eyes until finally, he says, âIâm glad. Thank you, Y/N.â
What he does next makes your heart pound against your chest. He leans forward, his breath warm against your face as he squeezes your still intertwined hands. You feel your cheeks heat up as his lips touch your forehead.
Rintarou leans back and gives you a soft smile. âLetâs go to sleep?â
Still flustered from his sudden forehead kiss, you can only respond with a nod.

Suna has always been an early riser. As a student, the habit paid off a lot as it allowed him to have ample time for academics and volleyball. As a young adult, it was useful when it came to escaping from awkward morning-after conversations with his one night stands.
Now, heâs beginning to discover another appreciation for his body clock. Similar to the day before, waking up before you gives him time to observe your features.
You look peaceful when asleep.
Now that the denial of his attraction to you is thrown out the window, it seems to Suna that he canât get enough of you. Your soft, steady breathing and the serene look on your face tugs at his heart.
The feeling of wanting to protect you from anything that can potentially hurt you almost makes him scoff at himself. After all, he was the one that hurt you in the past few years.
If he wants to protect you from pain, he really should just distance himself from you. But Suna knows that heâs a selfish person. So, heâll take another route instead: change and improve himself. Be someone who wonât hurt you; someone worthy to stay at your side.
Itâs the determination that came to him last night, when he had closed his eyes trying to go to sleep, basking in the warmth of your body beside him.
For all the years of taking you for granted, Suna vowed to himself that from now on, heâs going to cherish every moment he spends with you.

This was kinda cute and Iâm so fucking glad they actually bloody talked. Cause Jesus fuck dude I was losing my mind at their miscommunication and misunderstandings. And if I didnât read that little spoiler at the start Iâd be jumping for joy, thinking things are gonna work out but now Iâm not sure. Iâm scared.
Sometimes, it takes losing someone to finally see them. He wished he knew this before, but Rintarou had to learn this the hard way.

~~~
Suna watches as you cook pancakes for breakfast. He can hear the kids playing in the living room, the sound of the cartoons they had insisted to âwatchâ playing in the background.
âIs it not tiring?â
You send him a curious glance before returning your attention to the pan. âCooking?â
âAll the house work,â he clarifies as he moves from the kitchen island to join you near the stove. âYou never tried to ask if we could hire a new helper when Jiri left.â
He feels you tense a bit once heâs standing close to you. âI like doing all the work.â
âStill, a little help would have been nice, right?â
Heâs surprised when you turn to him, an outstretched hand holding a spatula. With a smile, you tell him, âNot from a stranger.
Suna reluctantly takes the tool from you and you laugh a liittle. âYou donât know how to cook?â He feels sheepish as he nods. You purse your lips. âOkay. Maybe you can help with other chores.â
As you try to take the spatula back from him, Suna softly grasps your hand. The action surprises even him.
âWhat?â He tries to conceal a smirk as he notices the faint blush beginning to color your face.
âIâd like it if we spend a few hours every week where you teach me the ways around the kitchen.â
âIâm not really good at cooking. Why donât you ask Osamu instead?â
Suna gives you a rather mischievous smile as he maneuvers your hands so that the spatula is placed on the counter. Your fingers are intertwined, his wedding ring digging into yours âIâm not married to Osamu, why would I want to spend time in the kitchen with him?â
~~~
âGrandpa, Grandma, Mommy and Dad almost burned the kitchen!â You watch as Risa. runs towards her grandmotherâs open arms while Ryuu runs to his grandfather.

When you let Rintarou help you in doing the laundry, you werenât expecting that it wouldnât be the only thing heâd be⌠doing. You can barely recall the things leading to your current predicament: you seated on top of the washing machine as Rin slowly thrusts into you.

Rin breaks the silence before it can fully take place. âI have a question.â
âHmm?â
âHow come you never got pregnant despite the times I fucked you in the last four years?â
Despite your current position, his question still makes you blush. You only mutter one word. âContraceptives.â
Heâs quiet for a while. âI see.â

I hope I can actively write and update here.
last installment to the After 8PM mini series (yep, calling it that) hehe

almost everyone will agree that finding something to dislike about hani nakamura is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
you remember the first time you overhear that statement at lunch in the cafeteria, and you laughing a little to yourself. you canât even blame the gossiping students because thatâs just how nice hani is.
however, you should have known that when trying to find a needle in a haystack, you begin to doubt its existence until you feel a prick and youâre bleeding and the needle already got you.
the pain youâre currently feeling is far akin to a small prick as you replay the conversation you had with suna at the convenience store in the middle of the night again and again and again.
âwhat did you want to talk about that couldnât wait until tomorrow?â he had asked.
you had taken a deep breath before replying, the words came out of you quickly, as if your bravery for confessing has a timer. âwell, i⌠i have something to tell you. itâs actually a bit selfish of me to say this to you but⌠i like you as more than just a friend, rin, and itâs been a while now. iâm sorry for suddenly springing this unto you but i just have this need to confess or else i would feel like exploding inside. you donât have to say anything; you can choose to interact less with me from now on but yeah, i just really needed to get it off of my chest.â
suna had surprised you with his reaction. he had a deep frown on his face and given you an accusing look. âdo you really not want me to be happy?â
âhuh?â
âfor fuckâs sake, y/n, i know about your little game! hani told me everything. you dropping all the hints all those months ago, fueling whatever sort of feelings i had for you, playing with my heart, when you only want to use me to be closer to osamu. i even chose to ignore those because i know weâre young and inclined to do stupid, bad things. but damn! canât you just leave me alone?â
and you were so dumbstruck by what he had told you that you were only able to look at him in disbelief.
âcat got your tongue?â he bitterly asked before breaking eye contact.
you shook your head after you had processed what he said and with a defeated sigh, said, âweâve been friends for two years. did you really believe i was that kind of person? why didnât you ask me to confirm it? and most importantly, i grew up with the miyas so why would i even use you to get to osamu, who, by the way, is like a brother to me? you know what, suna? maybe youâre right. i should leave you alone. i donât deserve to be around someone who would easily believe lies about me.â
you feel tears roll down your cheeks as you force your mind to stop the reel of what would probably be the last time you ever talked to suna. not for the first time, you wish to never have called him and asked to meet. oh, to only have sucked the pain up and not confess to him. maybe the heartbreak would be less than what you have to deal with right now.
the concerned look on his face as he met you in the convenience store doesnât matter anymore; neither does the fact that he was wearing the hoodie youâve always asked him to give to you.
hurt, betrayal, and anger all brew inside of you. you canât even fully process everything. hani, who everyone sees as the sweet and kind person betrayed you as a friend. suna, who had captured your heart, hurt you for believing that you are capable of doing such terrible things. and to top it all, anger at the both of them and mostly anger at yourself for walking away from suna before he can even respond to what you said to him.
*
suffice it is to say, the next time you see suna is extremely awkward. itâs at volleyball practice and thankfully, youâre not the sole manager of the club, making it easier for you to avoid any interactions with him.
âare you feeling better now?â osamu quietly asks you as he takes the water bottle from your hand during one of their breaks.
you reply with a nod but before you can let go of the bottle and escape from the twin's prodding questions, the grey-haired boy uses it to pull you closer to him. âyou didnât respond to any of my messages yesterday and youâre avoiding suna like heâs the plague.â
you click your tongue. of course he would notice. the same way he knew the reason of your breakdown in his car after that dinner. iâm not an idiot, y/n. i can see through your lies during all the time âsumu and me teased you. you actually really like sunarin.
âi swear iâm fine, âsamu. stop being a worry-wart for me, okay?â you forcefully take your hand from the bottle and you swivel away from the twin only to meet eyes with suna.
itâs obvious heâs been watching the interaction and your chest tightens, thinking about what he said the other night. once you notice him begin to walk towards your direction, you quickly turn to tend to aran. thankfully, the coach calls for the practice to resume not long after.
you usually admire suna during practice (when youâre not too busy taking notes) but just seeing him at the present brings back memories of what happened so you try to avoid looking at him. those same memories keeping you up at night. suna, at your favorite convenience store in the middle of the night, looking at your exasperatedly and shooting words that hurt you while wearing your favorite hoodies of him.
the coachâs whistle echoes in the gym, breaking you out of your sorrowful thoughts. âsuna, are you not feeling well? you seem a lot distracted.â
suna sighs heavily and you barely miss your co-managers whispering to each other how there are rumors that suna recently got in a lovers' quarrel with hani. your heart is thumping wildly as you watch him approach the coach who is sitting very near to where youâre standing.
âsorry, coach,â he says as he scratches at his nape. âyes, iâm not feeling well.â he then shoots you a not-so-subtle quick look. âcan y/n accompany me to the clinic?â
*
he knows itâs a foul move to involve the coach and the team in the middle of practice but suna didnât know what else to do. youâve blocked his number and all his social accounts. his attempts to talk to you in person have all been futile. it's not helping that osamu refuses to talk to him about you.
so, really, he was left with no choice.
however, you remain awfully quiet as the two of you walk towards the school infirmary, a good distance between your bodies. he wants to talk to you but he doesnât know where to begin, especially that this is very different from all the times that he has walked you home in the past where a silence is most welcome, oftentimes interrupted when a stray cat passes by.
when you arrive at the clinic, the nurse is out so you take seats at the waiting area. ây/nâŚâ he finally says after a few moments pass with your deliberately ignoring him.
you still refuse to look at him and instead play with your hands. the action calls his attention towards your wrist and it breaks his heart to see the absence of the beaded bracelet that you always wore ever since he gave it to you after he won it in an egg claw machine game a year ago.
ây/n, please⌠will you hear me out?â suna doesn't mind that there obviously is desperation in his voice,
your jaw clenches a little as your fingers pause. he imagines the internal conflict within you before you finally let out a soft sigh. âokay.â
suna doesnât miss a beat. âiâm sorry. iâm so, very sorry, y/n. i talked to hani and she admitted to everything. still, it does not change the fact that i hurt you by believing in her lies. i donât know what happened to me and i have no excuse for myself.â
when you finally look at him, he almost wishes you continued to avoid his gaze. gone is the warmth that he always sees in your gaze and in its place is just hurt and sadness. âi just keep thinking⌠that all these months, during our every interaction, at the back of your mind, thereâs this thought that iâm a bad person. and iâŚâ your voice breaks as you swallow. âi donât know, suna. why didnât you just talk to me?â
why? itâs the same question heâs been pestering himself with for the past two nights. how could he let that happen? why was he easily deceived by haniâs lies?
âiâm sorry, y/n,â he apologizes again, aware of the despair laced in his voice. âi wish i can take away the hurt iâve caused you.â
your teary eyes mirror his own. âi donât know if i can trust my so-called friends ever again. iâm just confused and sad and hurt, rin.â
the slip of his nickname buries the hatchet deeper in his chest and suna just wants to scream. he wants to say that he broke up with hani shortly after she confessed about the lies. but that wouldnât change anything now, and itâs not like you would care. not knowing what else to do, he moves to sit beside you and carefully reaches for your hand.
when you donât resist, he begins to rub this thumb against your palm as he gently maneuvers your head against his shoulder. his chest tightens as the sleeve of his uniform quickly dampens.
no more words leave either of your mouths, the silence enveloping you as he lets you cry against him, just like how he let your tears stain his hoodie the first time you bumped into each other at the 12th convenience store in the middle of the night over a year ago, the warmth of his shoulder comforting you from your pet hedgehogâs passing.
only this time, your tears are caused by him.
*
âsuna, youâve been a close friend of miya atsumu ever since high school, how are you feeling about his engagement?â the reporter asks behind the camera.
you watch suna wear that signature smirk of his. âof course iâm happy for my friend, and i wish a lot of good luck to his beloved.â his answer causes a few laughter from around him.
âhow about you, then? youâve been extremely secretive about your love life.â the reporter follows up excitedly.
suna raises an eyebrow. âi thought you said you only have one question for me?â he shakes his head before beginning to walk away. âbut all i can say is that iâm happy.â
the reporter fumbles a little but he has lost suna already, so he moves on to one of the other players from the national team.
youâre about to switch channels when a small figure joins you on the couch. âmama! was that papa?â
you turn to your son â a complete miniature of his father â and ruffle his hair. âyes, sweetie.â
he breaks into a toothless grin and goes to the center of the living room to dance around, all the while singing about how his papa is in the television.
meanwhile, your phone rings and you answer it quickly. âhey.â
âhey. did you watch?â
âyeah⌠you were so great. though i have one question for you, and i promise itâs one question only.â
rinâs soft chuckle at the other end of the line makes your heart flutter. âso you saw the interview? go on, whatâs your question, love?â
you take a quick but deep breath before asking. âdo you ever regret agreeing to keeping our relationship secret? like, nobody knows youâre married and with a kid, and most people think youâre just some volleyball-obsessed person whoâs going to grow old alone.â
he laughs once again. âi didnât know people think that about me,â he mocks surprise. âbut to answer your question, no. iâd rather people believe iâd grow old alone than curse me for being a jerk who once hurt the love of his life when they were teens.
"i also donât want people to know that i spent my senior year in high school trying to woo you and earn your forgiveness. how you forgave me and we became friends again but then you rejected me when i confessed after graduation? no way.â
youâre also laughing now, reminiscing on the past. how, after that day in the clinic, you and suna drifted for the rest of sophomore year. you had wanted space and he respected that.
you never got closure with hani, her family coincidentally having to move to tokyo after that school year ended but you think thatâs for the best. you didnât know what you would have told her anyway.
âso all this secrecy because you donât want people to know that youâve been rejected?â the teasing in your voice makes you giggle yourself.
âyes,â he replies playfully. âand also because i want to protect you! i remained loyally single for years until you finally agreed to a date during your senior year in university. god knows some crazy fans might curse you for making the suna rintarou wait for you!"
âand whose fault is that?â youâre smiling crazily into the phone now. âalso, since weâre spilling stuff here, how about you also tell the world how you knocked me up three months into our relationship?â
your eyes drift to your three-year-old son whoâs running towards the sounds at the front door. itâs when you notice that rin has dropped the call. he crouches down to kiss your son at the top of his head before covering his ears. âagain, iâm sorry about that accident honey, but look at our little angel, isnât he a cutie?â
you cross the small distance from the couch to the doorway. finally reaching your husband, you kiss him on the cheek. âthe world is missing out on seeing your cute mini version.â
he wraps an arm around you as you both watch your son whose attention has gone back to the toys on the carpet. âwhatâs with all these hints, love? are you saying youâre finally okay with giving the public a glimpse of our happy life?â
you nuzzle your head against his chest. âmaybe yes. maybe no⌠maybe later whenâŚâ
âhmm?â
you donât respond for a while. âsay, rin, do you want to drop by the 12th convenience store later around midnight once our son is asleep? i already asked osamu to come over to watch him.â
rin hums against you. "that's random, though? and how come you get 'samu to agree to babysitting favors so easily when i have to literally boost the sales of his onigiri?"
"silly, silly, sunarin," you singsong as you slap him playfully. "so, what do you think? wanna go to our convenience store later, at the middle of the night?"
"okay. do i need to bring the big eco-bag for the snacks we will be hauling?"
you untangle yourself from his arms as you make your way to your child. a perfect guise to hide your grin. "actually, no. we'll just be buying a little item."
*
in hindsight, you should have known better.
atsumu miya, despite being a professional volleyball player and recently getting engaged to the nonchalant sakusa kiyoomi, still likes to drink alcohol.
here you find yourself again at a long table, your friends from the volleyball club in high school gathered along with some of their plus ones. onigiri miya had closed early today for the private event. as osamu miya worked on the food with the help of his new assistant (whose eyes can't stop admiring her boss, but you'll tease osamu about that later) his blonde brother is already almost done with his first bottle.
he's telling the story of how they pranked one of their teammates that he and sakusa had broken up as a way of sharing their engagement. when the poor younger boy learned of the joke, he had ignored them to the point that atsumu had to reach out to kageyama to get him to talk to him.
"i told you it was a stupid idea and yet you didn't listen," sakusa adds to the ending of atsumu's story.
you laugh with your friends around the table, your lips opening up in a yawn once the laughter dies down. rin, ever the observant lover, lowly asks if you're okay, gently squeezing your hand he's holding under the table.
"i'm fine," you smile sweetly at him and his eyes soften a little. upon seeing he's still a little bit worried, you peck his cheek. "don't worry about me."
"you should be getting some rest," he says.
he must have said it louder than he intended or maybe you two just did not notice the table going quiet. atsumu speaks. "rest? suna, we're still not at the age to be tucking in bed at 8:00 PM. you know what we actually need? drinks!"
somehow, he gets the others to drink as well. shortly after, osamu finishes with the food preparation and his assistant, along with kita and aran, help set the table. the group happily eat and converse, sharing updates about their lives and reminiscing on their high school days. suddenly, you feel someone glaring at you.
"what?" you curiously ask atsumu whose eyes are looking at you with as much focus as he can muster with his tipsy state. "you're cheating!"
"huh?" your brows are furrowed and you turn to rin beside you but to your surprise, he's laughing. everyone looks at the both of you, half-intrigued and half amused.
rin kisses your forehead before taking the glass on his left and sipping. "he meant this, love. idiot surprisingly notices i've been drinking for us."
you're pretty sure you're already blushing. "oh."
"ah ha!" atsumu looks proud. "so i was right? come one, y/n, it's no fair! why are you not drinking? omimi and ginjima are the designated drivers tonight so no need to hold back!"
your cheeks still feel warm. "actually, i can't... i shouldn't have been drinking three weeks ago..." you exchange a look with rin and he nods at you. before you can continue, atsumu cuts you off with an excited squeal. "suna rintarou! how dare you keep this secret from me! and you, y/n, i thought i'm your brother!"
"for goodness' sake, 'tsumu, calm down," suna responds to the blonde, we actually only found out a week ago."
atsumu pouts, his cute drunken antics entertaining everyone at the table. "fine, forgiven. but i better be the godfather this time around!"
*
despite ginjima's insistence to drive you and rintarou home, you both decline his offer. after all, the walk home for onigiri miya restaurant to your home is not that far and late night walks with your rin is always welcome.
the moon and stars provide the two of you light as you walk home, your arms linked together. the night's breeze is nothing against rin's warm body. "love, i'm gonna tell you something but please don't panic, okay?"
his sudden sentence surprises you but you hum in agreement anyway.
"we're being followed by some media."
"oh."
he stops in his track, urging you to do the same. he looks down at your face, eyes holding gentleness one would not have expected from the stoic middle blocker. "do you want me to tell them off?"
you surprise yourself by saying no. rin cocks his head slightly before you respond. "i think i'm okay with a little bit of our private life being shared to the world."
he studies your face for a moment before smiling. "okay."
"okay?"
"yeah," he breathes close, hand already cupping your face. you get on your tiptoes as suna rintarou leans down and kisses you, but not before softly whispering, "i love you, y/n."

i originally wanted to write a full fic based on pixie labradorâs song (hence, the title) but somehow i ended up with this drabble. ALSO i know itâs a sapphic song but damn, the first time i listened to it and heard the lyrics about volleyball, haikyuu was my first thought
miya atsumu who has been your classmate since sixth grade; who you always only thought of as osamuâs loudmouth brother who once lent you his jacket when it was cold and you forgot to bring yours.
atsumu who was your partner for cleaning duty at seventh grade; who would almost always miss the task because he made it a habit to rush to the gym after last period.
atsumu who made your heart skip a beat when he passed you a note asking you to the eighth grade dance; who raises an eyebrow at your questioning look and says the note is from osamu.
atsumu who was your seatmate during ninth grade; who would distract you during class with the sound of his pen scraping against his notebook as he sketched volleyball plays.
atsumu who surprises you when he enters the classroom on the first day of tenth grade with his blonde hair; who you couldnât stop looking at because his lightened hair made him more handsome.
atsumu who, one night, dropped by your grandpaâs convenience store looking for an onigiri; who told you as he reached the counter that he had a fight with osamu and he wanted to give it as a peace offering.
atsumu, who somehow made it a habit to drop by the convenience store after practice to buy energy drinks; who always buy one of those candies displayed at the counter and conveniently âforgetsâ them, sending you a quick message to just keep it.
atsumu who approached you after class one thursday afternoon in eleventh grade; who shared he needed help in his studies in order to stay in the volleyball club and asked you to tutor him.
atsumu who began sharing a table with you at lunch under the pretense of having more time to discuss about lessons but always made it a point to just talk about random stuff; who in time recruited his brother and suna to your lunch table.
atsumu who lovingly accepts gifts from his fans at your lunch table; who smiles so sweetly at the girls as it makes you inwardly frown, confusing yourself.
atsumu who, at the first month of twelfth grade, excitedly tells you he made captain as he walked you home; who grinned at you as he showed you his jersey and jacket with his last name.
atsumu who became much busier due to volleyball but would always somehow find time in his calendar to stay with you either in a coffee shop or library as you studied for college entrance exams; who would force you to take a break as he snatches the pen from your hand (my old captain, kita, would scold you!)
atsumu who gets surprised once you tell him youâre going with them to the nationals; who teases you for volunteering to cover for the school newspaper; who is actually secretly happy that youâre coming.
atsumu who gives you his jacket before their first game âin case you get coldâ; who makes the girls beside you at the bleachers squeal when he smiles at your direction once he sees you wearing his jacket and cheering for him.
atsumu who lets you see his tears for the first time as you comfort him when inarizaki places second; who listens to your gentle voice as you sincerely tell him that you believe there are lots of greater opportunities for him in the future once he goes pro.
atsumu who passes you a note before class with prom? written in his messy handwriting; atsumu who receives a note from you saying is this from osamu again?; atsumu who bites back a smile as he passes back the note, so the bastard told you?; atsumu who doesnât notice his ears reddening until suna points it out but he doesnât care at all as he reads your note: yes, and yes iâll go to prom with you.
atsumu who surprises you at prom because as athletic as he is, he sucks at slow dancing; atsumu who makes you blush as he tightens his hand around your waist as soon as you two finally find the rhythm; atsumu who leans to you closely and whispers in your ear how beautiful you are; atsumu who plants a soft kiss at the top of your head after you tell him to shut up and accidentally step on his shoes.
atsumu who runs to hug you at graduation, wrapping his strong arms around your smaller figure and lifting you in the air; who attends your classâ afterparty with you where you end up playing truth or dare.
atsumu who chokes on his drink as your bottle ends up on him and you ask him on when he plans to ask you out; who, after composing himself, gives you a cheesy smile and asks you to be his girlfriend; who blushes so hard, making osamu and suna laugh, when you say yes and kiss him on the cheek.
miya atsumu who you never thought would capture your heart; atsumu who somehow also fell for you; atsumu who you would be cheering on for the rest of your life.
it doesnât matter whether youâre wearing his jacket or not; he already gave you his last name, anyway.
iâm still stuck on Sight part 4 but heyyy i got kinda inspired to make this pt 2.
will post part 3 hopefully before the year ends lol.
not edited/written at 3am
8:50 PM
suna watches as osamu guides you out of the restaurant with a hand on your lower back. he hears atsumu whistle across him. âi swear to god, if my idiot of a brother wonât make a move on y/n, i will.â
he resists shaking his head, knowing that atsumu already has eyes on someone else, but he doesnât bring it up. instead, his brows furrow, concern about you starting to cloud his mind.
heâs always been observant of you. it was only after he began dating hani that he started to spend less time looking at you. that was a few months ago and yet, he wonders why he wasnât able to tell that you were feeling unwell.
âare you okay, love?â hani asks beside him, breaking him out of his reverie.
âyeahâŚâ
something passes along her face but heâs not able to catch it and what it can mean. instead, hani gives his hand a squeeze. he knows itâs meant to be reassuring but to suna, it feels as if heâs being held back from running towards something that he has always wanted.
QUESTIONS
suna always looked forward to practice and to say itâs purely because of volleyball would be a lie. sure, he loved the sport, but his excitement towards practice was amplified by something else â the thought of seeing you.
he wasnât sure when he began to develop feelings for you that crossed the boundaries of platonic friendship. maybe itâs the way that whenever you would pass by their room, youâd look through the window and give him your sweet smile. maybe itâs the way you would always scold the twins during lunch whenever they get engrossed in their banter rather than eating. maybe itâs the way you would tie up your hair in a messy ponytail during practice, hands busy scribbling down notes on your managerâs pad.
suna wasnât sure but by the beginning of sophomore year, he knew in his heart that he liked you.
on that particular day, you arrived at the gym a few minutes late and he was surprised to see that you werenât alone. another girl was with you. as you introduced to the team that sheâs your friend from student council, he could feel her curious eyes on him.
hani nakamura was her name, you said.
that day after practice, he noticed you and hani pass by the convenience store where he and the twins stopped by at. he immediately but subtly went ahead outside, only to see a glimpse of you blushing as you talked to hani.
he couldnât help but think that the two of you were probably talking about boys, hence your blush. isnât that what girls do? that night, when he got home, suna began playing scenarios in his head on how best to confess to you.
8:55
âiâm tired,â hani says softly as she rests her head on his shoulders. it snaps suna out of his thoughts, a reminder that heâs already dating the girl beside him, who, unlike you, will never play with his feelings.
he strokes her hair gently. âshould we go?â
her response is a pout and a cutely-said âyes please.â
around him, his teammates fake barfing. âyou two lovebirds are so cheesy! get out of here!â
suna is unable to resist his smirk as he shakes his head. âweâll go ahead. yâall better also leave soon before you get wasted.â to atsumu he says, âexcept you, idiot, since youâre already wasted.â
hani giggles beside him as she links her arm with his. they both walk towards the parking lot, hani excitedly talking about everyoneâs reactions when they told them about their relationship.
once they reach his car, hani murmurs, âoh noâŚâ
âwhat?â sunaâs instantly alert, âwhatâs the matter?â
hani looks at him sheepishly as she says, âi need to run to the restroom. sorry, love. be right back!â
suna exhales in relief and smiles. âokay. be careful. iâll start heating up the car.â he waits for her to disappear from his view before he turns towards his car but before he could open the door, something catches his eyes.
itâs you inside osamuâs car, legs bent towards your chest, body shaking. and though he canât hear it, he knows youâre crying.
he feels a little pain by his chest as he resists the urge to run to you, to comfort you and ask whatâs wrong and to just make sure that youâll be okay.
instead, he shakes his head and refocuses on his car but not after mumbling to himself, âstupid osamu and his non-tinted windows.â
EXPECTATIONS
it felt as if the universe was against sunaâs plan of confessing his feelings to you. whenever he tried to get you alone after practice, something comes up and then either you or he would need to go ahead.
it was beginning to frustrate him. it didnât help that on your non-busy days, your friend, hani, was always tagging along. after the first time, haniâs visits during their practice frequented and it soon became apparent to suna how close the two of you had become.
an idea suddenly came to suna.
since hani was close to you and it seemed as if she would never leave your side, what if he befriended her? maybe she could even give insights on and help with his confession.
he didnât let the thought sit too long in his head; by the next time hani accompanied you to practice, suna started a random conversation. this would soon mark the beginning of their friendship.
suna admittedly only talked to hani in hopes of getting help confessing to you but what he didnât expect was for him to actually get along well with her. once their friendship had reached a comfortable level, he finally decided to open up to her.
what he didnât expect was the words that would leave haniâs mouth. âoh, suna-senpai, are you sure? iâm not sure if itâs my place to say, butâŚâ
she was looking at him with sympathetic eyes, making suna feel foolish as he replayed what he had shared â about his changing feelings at the beginning of the school year, about the hints youâve been dropping to him for the past months.
he awkwardly scratched at his nape. âwell?â
hani bit her lip. ây/n-senpai actually likes someone in the volleyball team. youâre actually very close to him, maybe thatâs why she was being too close to you as wellâŚâ
the end of her sentence was blurry to suna as he watched across the court how you playfully interacted with osamu.
sunaâs eyes hardened as he swallowed the lump in his throat. âi see.â
11:42
suna couldnât fall asleep. itâs been a few hours since he dropped hani off at their house but heâs still wide awake, his eyes fixed on the dull ceiling of his room.
thoughts of you swarm his mind.
after that conversation with hani many months ago, his treatment towards you never changed. he was mad at first but then realized that what you did to him had the same intention as why he even approached hani in rhe first place; the stark difference being he didnât intend to toy with the girlâs heart.
nonetheless, he let the matter go. you were all still young and stupid anyway, and at the same time, he got too pre-occupied with his budding relationship with hani.
still, it bothered him. the sight of you sobbing in osamuâs car wouldnât leave his mind. what could have happened to make you have a breakdown like that?
he contemplated on sending you or osamu a message just for his peace of mind and before he can decide who to text, his phone rings.
his eyes widened once he saw your contact id. he stared at it for a few more seconds before swiping right.
ây/n?â
â⌠hey, suna. i didnât think youâd pick up.â
he hated how you sound stuffy but chose not to comment on it. âwell⌠whatâs up?â
a barely-concealed sniffle. âc-can we talk?â
âokay, sure. go ahead.â
âno, i mean in person. the 12th convenience store?â
he smiled at the mention of the place. âokay. see you in a few.â
âsee you.â
once you hang up, suna dropped his phone on the bed and immediately went to get his favorite hoodie.
the same hoodie that youâve been asking for him to give to you ever since he let you borrow it on one rainy afternoon.
