Getting more involved in the queer community where I live has been so genuinely great but also like.. a stark reminder that it's not different than wider culture in a lot of ways. I think online sentiments are more open to body hair than the actual general public; the looks other gay people give me for wearing a crop top without shaving are just as disapproving as the most conservative moms who have approached me to gripe about me being hairy in public lmfao like I'm not going to change for them but my will is tested all the time... I want to feel sexy and desired but beauty standards are still beauty standards I guess. I was just under the impression we were all further along on doing work to unlearn that 😶‍🌫️

Everything is a slow motion car crash right now and I'm desperately trying to turn the wheel. But I went to my mom's house this morning before work to catch up and not feel alone, which was nice. Burnt my bagel though. Fitting metaphor

Listened to the teens of denial re-record today... I had to know. Overall, the content of any changes aside, the execution of the changes themselves were so poorly done that the album is a bad listening experience. The new overdubbed lyrics sound empty and often don't match the pacing of the original line. Songs that are jarringly identical to the original are right alongside tonally inconsistent new additions. It's just strange, and that's only the sound. I think returning to an album about being a teenager 10 years after it's release could be an interesting exercise, but we didn't get any new insights or revelations. We lost some of the most cathartic and interesting moments instead. Honestly I don't care enough about about the album to keep going, but I will say that keeping all the references to drugs while removing the swearing feels so inconsistent like... It makes me want to look around and ask people are you hearing this? Am I crazy or is this really bad?
