Kisses I want to write about:
Goodbye kisses: Lingering and hard for longer times apart. Ones that curve Aâs body against Bâs and cause hands to splay against backs. Or short pecks, maybe not even completely on the mouth for short trips to the grocery store. Hello kisses: After long periods apart, these can include A picking up B and spinning them around. Fingers pressing into cheeks, palms cupping necks, and breathless laughs when they finally come up for air. Breathless kisses: A series of short pecks because they need the closeness but they also need air, so. Sometimes smiles come in between, or sometimes its just breath, gasping for the sole purpose of being able to kiss again. Heated kisses: Breath huffing into mouths, angrily or passionately. Hands grabbing at clothing and pulling each other closer. First kisses: Hesitant and nervous. Lips hover inches from each other for a few seconds before they just barely brush. Itâs just a soft press, but it ignites their entire bodies. Pinkies link afterwards, still wanting to be close, and each looks down, smiling softly. After sex kisses: Lazy, slow presses. Limbs pressed together, chests heaving. Soft murmurs about what to do for dinner later, fingers trailing down backs, tracing lazy patterns. B rolling onto their back and A trailing their lips down their neck, kissing their shoulder, their chest, anywhere they can think of, memorizing B. Morning kisses: Barely awake kisses that usually end up on jaws or cheeks because A is too tired to land it properly. B makes a sleepy sound and rolls into A, nuzzling their face into their neck, ankles hooking together, while A drapes their arms around B and they fall back asleep for a while. Post-break up kisses: Soft and slow. Hands on each otherâs arms in a way that neither can tell if the other is pushing away or pulling closer. The kiss ends with their foreheads pressed together, neither wanting it to be true that this is happening. Christmas kisses: More smile than actual kiss. A holds mistletoe above their heads while B rolls their eyes, but pulls A down by the collar of their ugly Christmas sweater for a heated kiss. A takes B by the waist and walks forward until they are around the corner, away from the prying eyes and hoots of the rest of their friends and family. Comforting kisses: B walks into find A sitting on the bed, shoulders shaking, cheeks wet. A looks up, face looking stricken for a moment. B is shocked, and quietly says Aâs name. At this, A breaks, face crumpling, and only barely has time to reach both hands out for B before B is there, kneeling at Aâs feet. B takes Aâs hands first, kissing their knuckles and palms. Then B reaches up to hold Aâs face, pressing soft kisses around their cheeks, their lips, murmuring âitâs okayâ and âyouâre alrightâ and âIâm hereâ in between. âI thought I lost youâ kisses: The breath is knocked out of both of them with the force that they collide with. Hands grip the back of t-shirts and palms are pressed up and under shirts, holding them close, feeling the warmth of their skin. Palms are pressed to cheeks, thumbs swiping away tears until their mouths collide messily, the world seeming to disappear around them. âWe canât do thisâ kisses: Fists clenched, hands shoved into pockets. Brows low or brought together, jaws clenched. A feeling like a magnetic pull between them. Their foreheads press together, their lips brush, just barely, until B pulls away with a shaking exhale, forehead dropping into Aâs neck. âCome to bedâ kisses: A has their hands on Bâs neck, murmuring the phrase softly. Aâs hands slide down Bâs arms to their hands, lacing their fingers together and slowly starting to pull B towards their bedroom. A continues to pepper B with kisses all the while, trailing them down their jaw and neck. âYou look beautifulâ kisses: Just a soft press of lips to the temple, resting them there for a moment, then smiling down and telling them as much. âIâll be right backâ kisses: A puts their hands on Bâs shoulders from behind them, where they are sat on the couch. He leans down and around, while B turns his head a little, accepting the quick peck. âI missed youâ kisses: Long and relentless, holding their body close, arms wrapped completely around their waist. A burying their head in Bâs neck and pressing kisses there too. Angry kisses: Hard, gripping. Fists in clothes, shoving each other against walls. Fingers digging into hips. But the kisses always melt away from that. They turn into brushes of lips between shaking breaths, until theyâre out of energy and are left just standing there, holding each other, fingers carding through hair. Sad kisses: Almost not a kiss at all. Just holding onto each other tightly, Aâs lips pressed to Bâs temple, whispering soft words, desperately trying to provide whatever comfort they can. In the dark kisses: The movie plays in the background, but A and B are hardly paying attention from the back row. They kiss soundlessly, long and soft, fingers locked. Aâs arm is thrown behind Bâs seat, wrist bent to curl their fingers into Bâs hair. Dying kisses: A holds B in their arms, panicked, crying. Murmurs of âno, no, no.â Salt on their lips from tears. Voice cracking. Holding on tightly to their shirt, their shoulder, their hand, roughly pulling them against their body, anything to try and keep them tethered to this earth. Kissing them as they die (âno. No, stay awakeââ), Kissing them once more even with the life has left their body (No. God, come back. Please, come back. Please, look at me, Iâm right hereâ).

((What does Will make of some of his RH classmates?))
Well, Jennyâs obvious. He and Sheldon actually get along fine, but Will is constantly paranoid about their shared attraction to Jenny. Sheldon absolutely loves Jenny, but to the extent that, in the end, he just wants to see her happy, and if sheâs happy with someone else so be it. I was originally going to write something about this during the intro to the Misty battle.
Shayde is one of Willâs closest friends, and they try to hang out as often as possible, with Shaydeâs longer exposure to the multiverse being a big help towards acclimating Will toward some of the concepts heâs about to be exposed to. They also binge movies and TV shows together on occasion.
Even outside their AU ships, Will hangs out with Roulette and Vega: the former because of her proximity to Shayde and the latter because of her proximity to Jenny. Both, however, are valuable supports for him.
Buzzkill is one of the few that Will regularly seeks out intentionally to befriend; he appreciates the honesty more than he appreciates glad-handing for the sake of âmaking him feel better.â The whole episode with him nearly getting skewered through the neck kind of put a roadblock in that avenue, but itâs more a wake-up call than anything else. He also wants to meet Beekeeper to find out what makes him worth dying for.
Luca takes regular naps in Willâs hair when he isnât goading Will into his adventures; the latter is something Will does a bit begrudgingly, but the former is something Will adores because he feels loved and appreciated.
Xavis is somewhat of a mystery to Will.
Marsh still unintentionally freaks Will out after what happened the first time they met.
Will regularly trains with the young clone troopers, getting used to first aid techniques.
Lights flashed on, blindingly bright. Bright enough to bring the Mercenary out out of unconsciousness. The room she was in was empty save for a blacked out window, a door, a table and two chairs. Including the one she was being restrained in. In from the door walked Dreamer, this time dressed only in his RH Fatigues with a pistol and holster. The Trooper took to the chair across from Misty. âYou alright? I imagine Buzzkill wasnât too gentle with you...â
Misty slowly returned to life, her body sore and her mind reeling. She looked at her surroundings with disdain and dismay, knowing for absolute certainty that she had failed her mission.
The boy in front of her looked new, but when she heard his voice she recognized him as one of the armored back-up Jenny had, no doubt in charge of the others who wore it there. But he was so much younger than she expected, closer to her own age: way too young for a normal person to be commanding troops. What is this place?
âWhy do you care?â She sneered, looking back up at him. âAre you interrogating âmuh feelingsâ now?â
Firfek. This wonât end wellâŚ
Dreamer quickly got up and re-secured Mistyâs arm, putting a finger to his lips as he did. He wasnât exactly afraid, but his mind was racing to figure out why Principal Grim had decided to interrupt the interrogationâŚand why he sounded absolutely furious. Walking to the door and opening it quickly, Dreamer stood at attention as he quite literally looked death in the face.
âPrincipal, Sir!â He said with a salute.
âŚFingers crossed this doesnât make things go up in smoke.
âThe noise and voice certainly seemed intimidating, for sure, but given the variety of people at this school, Misty half-expected it to be some tiny guy with a megaphone and a sledgehammer. If her âinterrogatorâ was this concerned, however, she figured she ought to be as well; she cooperated as he locked her arm back into place.
A flood of light filled the room as the door opened at last, but given the darkness of the room all Misty could see was a menacing, somewhat-human silhouette against the lit outside. It entered the room and was followed by a buxom woman with fluffy orange hair, her hands behind her back as she tersely got a first glimpse at the schoolâs intruder. She stayed in the background, however, as the imposing figure began to speak.

âYes, Maâam.â Dreamer quickly saluted.
The Anti-Trooper quickly turned and took a few steps towards the now vacant chair, glancing at Misty with a wink that he hoped she caught. Whatever happened, she needed to know that he had her back. Turning back to Ms. Bellum and Grim, he stood up straight and began to recount the âInterrogation.â

Misty arched a curious eyebrow at Dreamerâs response. The two apparent leaders of the school had a point; she was an intruder sent to destroy not one, but two of their students. If what they were saying was true, then this plot was even wider reaching than she would have anticipated. If sheâd known that there was so much at stakeâŚ
Neither Miss Bellum nor Grim looked impressed, however, by the explanation they were given.

Hands behind his back, one clenched in a tight fist, Dreamer remained at attention.
âAffirmative. As the detainee no longer has any information I need, Iâll see to having her removed from school grounds.â
For the first time since he was very young, Dreamer was caught flatfooted. And he was furious at himself for it. He assumed that Grimâs incompetence would give him and his brothers some time to figure out a plan of action and how to prove Willâs innocence when he would inevitably be falsely accused. Now there was no timeâŚand blamed himself. He said nothing else to Grim and Ms Bellum, having no way to immediately remedy the situationâŚ
The suspense was high. There was a brief silence.
Buzzkillâs dramatic bastard senses were tingling.
He kicked open the door, his hands to busy carrying a giant bucket of popcorn to bother opening it in a decent way, he barged his way in. For the first few moments, the massive pile of popcorn blocked his view of the other two figures there. âSorry for being late, was showing Mantis around. Howâs the torâŚtureâŚâ he stated, pausing upon seeing the Principal and Vice Principal standing there. He stood in silence.
His grin grew massive.
âDonât tell me, she talked him Out of sending her to hell? Câmon, Miss Bellum, itâs only a Little demonic sacrifice. Weâll even leave most of her internal organs intact!â he joked sadistically, tossing a handful of popcorn into his mouth. He knew there was no way Misty would be sacrificed, Miss Bellum was too good and competent for that, but maybe Misty didnât know that.
Mantis, upon hearing âtortureâ, âhellâ and âdemonic sacrificeâ, thought it best Not to check in on Beekeeper yet and walked back over. Seeing Death and Miss Bellum, he waved from the doorway. âWe werenât going to torture you, donât worry,â he said to Misty, clarifying Buzzkillâs wording.
âHey, I never agreed to that,â Buzzkill countered, smiling widely.
The sight of these two walking into the room was the last thing Misty needewd right now. Not only was it a reminder of the violently one-sided beatdown she had received, but also of the image that sent her into panic-induced unconsciousness.
Ugh, as if this whole situation couldnât get any worse.
Miss Bellum was rather surprised to see Buzzkill walk in, but Grimâs countenance remained unchanged, a scowl of disapproval crossing his jaw. All Buzzkill had done was save him the trouble of going to his room to speak to him.
âAh, Mistah Buzzkill,â he spoke, his words dripping with his own brand of venom, âGood tah see you. I was just about tah meet witâ you in regards tah your witâholdinâ of dis dire situation. If ya had simply told us about dis little insurrection, I would not have tah suspend you and ya little group of friends for a week.â
âNow we have less time to prepare for whatever it is that Kurtis is planning,â Bellum elaborated, indicating this to Mantis Shrimp as well. âYou may have stopped this attack, but weâre talking about a man with extensive funds and - practically - a license to kill. Up until now, heâs done more subversive attacks, but whoâs to say heâs not assembling forces for a full-on assault as we speak?â
âDat,â Grim added, âis not a chance we are willing tah take. So aftah we block âdis Misty and her accomplice from returning tah âdeâ multiverse, we are going tah prepare foâ deâ worst.â
Bellum said nothing. She and Grim had already debated the issue of Willâs alleged involvement quite heatedly this morning, but Grim stood firm against each argument. She was even starting to grow unsure of Willâs integrity herself.
ââŚspeaking tactically, Baytheon has no use for a mentally ill teenager. His self loathing and compassion make him a liability for this kind of operation. Kurtis is using Will as a scape goat. These are tactics used by Sepratist Spies, who usually exploit economical resourcesâŚnamely weapons manufacturing.â
A switch had gone off in Dreamerâs head once Grim had said the word âSuspendingâ. When dire situations arose, he could turn from care free to laser focused in a matter of seconds. This was a defensive mechanism that Dreamer developed early on as an Arc Anti Trooper, when live fire exercises were employed.
Adapt or Die.
âWillâs is innocent. Trusting him with infiltration and espionage would defy all logical and tactical reasoning. If Will was a spy, and Reaper High was enough of a threat to warrant hiring a Mercenary of power equal to one of that universeâs strongest combatants, Will wouldâve shown his true colors already.â
Dreamer figured that if heâd been wrong in assuming that heâd have time before Will was framed, he figured that he could possibly be wrong about at Ms. Bellum seeing reason. If she didnâtâŚhe would have to make someâŚrisky decisions.
Mantis gave Buzzkill a stunned look at learning Buzzkill didnât alert the school of the threat - Buzzkill didnât care. Youâll really trust the villain to inform everyone? Dexterâs info would spread out anyway. If the school was alerted, easier fight. If it wasnât he got to make it that much more personal. Win-win in his eyes.
The âaccompliceâ line was a bit confusing, until Dreamer spoke up. Then it was Buzzkillâs turn to be stunned.
Then all he could do was laugh at how ridiculous that was.

Grim arched the top of his orbital socket at this display. He had to admire the guts of this villain to stand up like this to his own principal, let alone the very embodiment of Death.
Bellum did not flinch when the behatted boy addressed her, either; she regretted going along with Grimâs plan, and was thankful someone was calling them both out for it. She knew, however, that nothing would sway Grim from this course, especially not someone he was already mad at.

Dreamer let out a quick sigh of relief before swiftly moving to undo Mistyâs restraints.
I knew there was a reason I had faith in herâŚ
âGuess that settles that.â He rolled his neck after letting Misty free. âAlright, weâve got work to do. We need to mobilize and find a way to prove Willâs innocence and neutralize Baytheon as a threat to the school.â
The ARC Trooper pulled out a small ear piece from his belt and raised his brothers. This was now a full-fledged op. No more discretion.
âWire. Itâs Dreamer. Weâve got an update.â Dreamer let Hotwire respond before speaking again. âMeet me with the boys in the hangar. 10 minutes. Get Shard, Melody and Revar if you can, and see if you can get the guardians on the horn too. Dream out.â
Putting away the earpiece, he turned to his companions and gestured to the door. There wasnât much time to waste anymore, since enough time had passed to allow Baytheon to assume Misty had failed, and that further action would be required.
âUnless weâve got further matters to discuss, Letâs roll. We can come up with a plan once the gangâs all together.â He turned to Misty, thinking about what she said. âWelcome to the club, by the way.âÂ
Mantis gave a big smile, posing dramatically as heroic music blared from the speakers on his belt. âExcellent! Letâs go and defeat the evil Baytheon!â he cheered, walking off with Dreamer.
Buzzkill, feeling extra confident after getting off free from yelling at the Principal and Vice Principal, walked after them. âI vote we head right to his office where heâs all stockpiled and wreck the place. With what I gave Mantis itâll be a piece of cake,â
âAnd potentially dangerous! It took time for me to get used to my strength in the first place, boosting it to excessive levels would pose a risk to the honest workers inside. Besides, it probably has further risks, even if temporary,â
Buzzkill rolled his eyes, muttering about not being the only Buzzkill, as he pulled out his cellphone to give Soap a call. With the assassin gone, the two guarding Beekeeper didnât need to be so on guard. Fuck being on the defensive.
He started a fight on their turf? Itâs time to return the favor.
It was the first time since taking this stupid job that Misty felt so relieved. She rubbed her sore wrists and watched Buzzkill and Mantis leave in good spirits before addressing Dreamer. âThanks.â She finally said, quietly. âI just hope weâre not too late to stop him...oh, and can you show me the way back? I have no idea where I am right now.â
She chuckled lightly. At least Dreamer was easier to talk to, having not spent as much time beating her up or giving her death glares. But now she was about to take on the guy who had offered her the job in the first place, so for all that she knew, she could be hopping out of the frying pan and into the fire. With backup around her like this, though, she felt confident that, even if they didnât survive, theyâd put a damper on this guyâs plans and give him a heck of a fight.
She was always up for that.

âDonât tell me, she talked him Out of sending her to hell?

If sheâd known that there was so much at stake...
Neither Miss Bellum nor Grim looked impressed, however, by the explanation they were given.

âWhy do you care?â She sneered, looking back up at him. âAre you interrogating âmuh feelingsâ now?â
Well, thatâs a relief. With that his mind relaxed, and he leaned back slightly in his chair.
âActually, I was going to ask you if you knew what the multiverse was.â
Dreamer had noted her pause before she finally accepted the bacta, and remembered that she probably didnât know that there were other universes, let alone who Jango Fett was.Â
âYou didnât seem to be prepared for what you might find here. I get the feeling that Mr. Perringer didnât give you as much intel as he could haveâŚâ
Kurtis clearly knew that the multiverse existed, Dreamer figured. How else could he have known where Jenny was or how to get Misty there, and before all of that, how to send his son thereâŚ
âThis place is FAR bigger than you thought, isnât it. Trust me, I felt the same way when I first got here.â
âThe guy said he had a job. I took it. He didnât tell me anything about what this place was or why because I didnât think heâd need to.â She looked around herself at the strange room that was sapping her powers. âNow Iâm wishing he had. I probably would have taken you all out if Iâd known who to expect.â
She had no idea if this was true or not; she was heavily outnumbered from the outset. But she played off the whole situation as though it were a mild inconvenience.
âI can take a guess at what a âmultiverseâ is, and this place isâŚfittingly enormous, if thatâs the case. But why are you asking me these things anyway? Whatâs the big deal about it? I came to whack Jenny andâŚâ She shuddered. ââŚokay, whatever the heck that yellow-and-black guy is. Buzzkill, you said? Fitting name.â She shifted uncomfortably in her chair while trying to joke. âI donât want anything more to do with him or whatever that thing is inside his head. The rich guy can keep his money. Itâs not worth going through any more of that.â
Buzzkill really is more trouble than heâs worth.
âSmart move, honestly. Not to mention, heroes from other dimensions wouldâve been breathing down your neck if you succeeded.â Dreamer nodded. âA lot of them have a âNo killing ruleââŚand others donât.â
Dreamer paused to think about her prior question. Why DID he care?? Misty was a dangerous killer who was sent to assassinate a friend! The ARC Trooper could at least justify his interestâŚbut the reason for it?
He shrugged. âAs for my intrest in youâŚBeing honest, Iâm not sure why. You just seem worth the effort. I tend to do a lot of things that way. Acting on instinct. Itâs in my genes.â
Bred to ARC Trooper, Dreamer was allowed more free thought than his brethren. Rather than simply and monotonously following orders, he could listen to what his guts and decide for himself what seemed right. Much to his intrigue, his gut told him to learn about Misty.
Misty groaned once more, reacting to the news of more heroes to contend with. Between Jenny, the losers she ditched from the Teen Team, and now the few people sheâs met here, she had pretty much had her fill of heroes.
âThere are more?! Man, forget this guy: if heâs going to send me into a place like this and expect me to walk away without a scratch, heâs the biggest idiot Iâve ever met.â
Face-palming herself with her free hand, she then looked up at her captor.
âAnd if I were you, I wouldnât bother wasting any âeffortâ on me.â She sighed, slumping back in her chair. âIâve been an outcast on my home world and a bunch of others; I donât see how thatâs going to change any time soon.â She ran her nimble fingers through her tousled hair in frustration. âEven if I did manage to beat you allâŚI donât know if I would have been able to ice that robot.â
Outcast.
That word echoed in his mind for a moment. Going from place to place in search of belonging or safe harbor. This was Dreamerâs reality too, for a time. Before arriving at RH Dreamer and his brother Hotwire had been marrooned in an unknown universeâŚliving off scraps in tattered Phase 1 Clone Armor. Misty seemed better off, but even so, he couldnât help but feel sorryâŚ
âSureâŚyou might have a hard time fitting in. ButâŚat least thereâs a possibility for it. Iâm living with a stolen face. One people in my galaxy donât have any sympathy forâŚâ His mood turned from inquisitive and upbeat to sullen. âOn top of that, the Galaxyâs authority wants me and the rest of my brothers wiped off the map. SoâŚyeah, I suppose I can relate.â
This was, in recent memory, the strangest interrogation Misty had ever partaken in.
âWhy are you talking like Iâm gonna âfit inâ?â She asked, flailing her free arm in annoyance. âYou havenât explained to me what this place even is! I mean, now youâre probably going to do that anyway, soâŚ" Her eyes half-closed and her voice grew dull. âYay, storytimeâŚfrom the man with the stolen fa- WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? You are making absolutely no sense right now! Are you supposed to be interrogating me, or-â
As she lashed out, she noticed the strain she was putting on herself against her restraints. Her left arm had partially healed from her time in mist form, but when she woke up in this place it was still rather sore. Now, she could feel no pain. The same went for her ribs; it was like the fractures mended themselves.
He wasnât lying to her after all.
ââŚthat stuff works fast.â She remarked, softly.
Annoyed at himself for getting lost in his attempts to connect, Dreamer began to explain.
âDamn it, Iâve been ramblingâŚIâm a Clone. My face isnât technically mine. I look like another man, and thus my face is stolen. By the force how did I-â Before letting himself slip into another tangent, he corrected himself. âThis school is Reaper High, an academy for exceptional individuals from across the multiverse. Considering you took down Jenny, hands downâŚâ
He guestured to Misty with an open palm. Taking down her universeâs most high profile combatant flawlessly was nothing short of spectacular.
ââŚyouâre overqualified. At least in my book.â
Misty couldnât help but snicker at the cloneâs stumbling. Here he was, no doubt with a lot of responsibility in interrogating her, and he canât even get his own words straight.
Then again, with his next segue, she realized that this wasnât so much an interrogation but more of an invitation.
âSo let me get this straightâŚâ she began, ââŚI get offered money to whack two of the students of thisâŚâschoolâ, weasel my way in, get curb-stomped âŚand youâre saying I could stay here as though I were as much of a goody-two-shoes as Jenny?â
She rolled her eyes and turned away with a scoff. The whole thing seemed absolutely bizarre.
Then againâŚthe place did show a lot of promise, even in her scant time of being there. Sheâd always loved being on her own because it afforded her so much freedom; now that there was an actual nexus to a multiverse, there was no boundary as to where she could go. And unlike the âstandardsâ of Jennyâs school, this place seemed ripe with opportunity for ruckus. They wouldnât allow Jennyâs friends to roam the halls armed if that werenât the case.
Still cautious, however, she looked out of the corner of her eye at Dreamer.
âWhatâs the catch?â
A catch? Was there one? Dreamer pondered what her definition of a catch wasâŚhe figured that sheâd have to jump through some hoops first but would be as free as most of the other villains. Granted they had handlersâŚand jugding from her attitude, she wouldnât much like the sound of thatâŚ
âStudents here have a History of attempted murder against one another. Itâs more commonplace than you might think.â The Trooper rubbed the back of his head. âAs for the âcatchâ, so to speak, youâd have rules to follow and the like just like any school. Although that doesnât really mean much around here, speaking frankly.
For a moment, he paused. Misty didnât seem like the type who liked to stay in one placeâŚthe multiverse was so vast, so open, so full of opportunity. Heâd dreamed of many things about life roaming the various dimensions, doing a myriad of things from diplomatic work (the details of which were blurry due to his lack of experience with politics), to a multiverse military coalition. But the dream that repeated itself the mostâŚreminded him of Misty.
Oh. I think I get it now.
ââŚyâknow. Students often get to go on leave. For research projects and expeditions into the multiverse.â That was a lie. Most left without permission to fight off imminent threats and to start trouble. âA lot of times, we come back with stuffâŚcatches good prices when we put it up for grabsâŚâ
Misty cocked an eyebrow, unsure of where this was going but intrigued by the prospect of loot. âGo on.â
But before Dreamer could get the chance to continue, there was a deafening noise at the door. It sounded like something was rapping upon it, but the sound was too loud to be that of an average personâs fist.
Horrifying as it was, it was outdone instantly by the voice that followed.
âOpen deâ door. NOW.â

He wasnât lying to her after all.
â...that stuff works fast.â She remarked, softly.
Face-palming herself with her free hand, she then looked up at her captor.
âAnd if I were you, I wouldnât bother wasting any âeffortâ on me.â She sighed, slumping back in her chair. âIâve been an outcast on my home world and a bunch of others; I donât see how thatâs going to change any time soon.â She ran her nimble fingers through her tousled hair in frustration. âEven if I did manage to beat you all...I donât know if I would have been able to ice that robot.â

With a short sigh, Dreamer folded his hands on the table. This is going to take a whileâŚ
âI care because lives are on the lineâŚincluding yourâs.â He pulled his compact data pad from his belt and unfolded it. âNow, Iâm going to ask some questions. Questions that will help the both of us.â
The Power nullification system in the room made it impossible for Misty to use any of her abilities. A failsafe Dreamer has planned to use during the fight. He didnât want to have to use force. For an odd reason, unlike his brothers, he thought it unnecessary.
The pad flickered to life, bringing up an interface which Dreamer tapped and swiped at before setting it to rest on his lap.
âKurtis Perringer contacted you in an attempt to have Jenny Wakeman assassinated. Did Mr. Perringer inform you of any other motivations he had?â
Misty rolled her eyes and tried to change herself back into mistâŚbut found herself unable to do so. She struggled with her bonds instead of answering Dreamerâs question. to the point that the chair she was sitting in tipped over. What was once a soft ache in her chest grew larger; she wasnât finished healing from the fight, and it felt like at least one rib was still broken. The jolt from landing made it hurt even more, and she screamed in pain and anger before going limp.
âI didnât ask, alright?!â She shouted. âHe had money, and I wanted it! I was looking for any excuse to wipe the floor with XJ-NeenerâŚâ
Mistyâs shrill scream made Dreamer react immediately. But he didnât lift her up right until she had worn herself out and barked at him. From the sound of it, she still hadnât recovered from Buzzkill and Mantis Shrimpâs attacks. Dreamer didnât want to risk her trying to attack and injuring herself further.
âEasy, easyâŚâ he spoke softly, setting her chair back up right.
He sat himself back down and input the response into the data pad quickly before turning his attention straight back to her. Sheâs hurt stillâŚdonât push too hard.
âAlrightâŚthat answers thatâŚâ he paused. After finishing the report, he began before looking up again. âSkilled and so powerfulâŚyet content with common Mercenary work. You remind me of a man named Jango FettâŚâ
The Trooper got up and walked to a panel on the wall. Placing his hand on it, he uttered some kind of alien phrase, and it slid open to reveal a small paper cup with a shot of a blue substance. Walking back, he put the cup in between himself and Misty.
âThis is called Bacta. Itâs a healing agent from my dimension. Heals wounds quicker than anything I know of. This particular type is called Bactade. Doesnât taste too badâŚat least I donât think so.
Dreamer believed in treating detainees with respect and kindness. (A lesson heâd learned under the tutelage of one of the many Dark Knights the visited the school.) Helping Misty would earn her trust, and her trust would earn him what he wanted to know. Most of the other clones thought it wise for him to break ties at that point, but Dreamer wasnât of the same mindsetâŚ
âYouâre still hurtâŚI figured youâd like a pick-me-up.â
Thankfully none of his brothers were watchingâŚwith the exceptions of Stake, Bulk and Stag, theyâd be furious with him.
Misty grunted as the chair was set right; she was still very sore.
âContent?â She responded. âDo I look content? Itâs my livelihood at stake, here; I do what I do best, so I make a little money in the process-â
She stopped as she was presented with the bacta fluid. When Dreamer uttered the word âdimension,â she started to realize just how massive this place must be. It would certainly explain the variety of people sheâd already encountered. She looked to Dreamer, then to the drink, then back to Dreamer.
âHow do I know itâs not poison?â She asked.
âSimple really.â
With that, Dreamer got up and helped himself to a servering from the wall panel. He downed it in one quick swig, and let out a sigh of refreshment.
âWould I be so eger to drink poison?â
Before returning to his seat, Dreamer stood next to the table and gestured to Mistyâs restraints. In order for her to willingly drink the bacta and heal further, sheâd need to be let freeâŚthis was a huge risk.
A risk Iâm willing to take.
He walked to Mistyâs chair and undid one of the cuffs that held her right arm and sat down.
âCanât drink without an arm free.â
His instinct would allow him to draw in an instant. Stun only of courseâŚbut none the less, it would hurt. Dreamer hadnât the slightest idea why he was being so passive towards Misty. And yet, the ARC Trooper allowed his gut to guide him.
Misty watched her captor drink for himself. Sure, he had a separate glass, so the danger of poison was still very real, but when he released her arm, it put her a little more at ease. Taking the glass from him slowly, she kept an eye on him as she allowed a taste of the liquid to flow into her mouth.
The taste wasnât anywhere near as good as sheâd hoped; in fact, it was a very dry flavor, with a chalky finish. She didnât want to take any more until she felt it absorb into her bloodstream. Her pain began to ease instantly, but not quickly enough for her tastes. She downed the rest of the cup quickly before tossing it aside, letting this magical liquid do its work.
â...so what do you want to discuss now?â She asked, still bitter from her defeat. âMy favorite color?â
