M’gann was somewhat relieved and un-nerved at the same time by Jace’s cool reaction to her brief summary to his question. He always handled a new threat, new challenge with such ease it was astonishing at times. M’gann moved to stand, moving towards the bathroom door, into her bedroom. “If you give me a moment, I can meet you in the kitchen…I’m going to put something more comfortable on.” She motioned to her jeans and the tank top which had beads of water soaked into the collar. “I promise to answer any and all questions to my knowledge…” M’gann promised holding up three fingers to single scouts honor.
She didn’t wait long for his answer, nor for him to leave before she rumaged through the small amount of clothes she had tucked in a suitcase. M’gann never took any clothes out of their, nor did she unpack into any home. A soft blue t-shirt and a pair of wool shorts were her options on pajamas. “You always are so calm about anything I tell you about me…It’s refreshing and alarming.” She admitted honestly, tucking hair behind her ear, as she adjusted the sling off her arm to remove her tank top.
For a moment, Jace stayed and watched her. There was nothing lewd about it and later it would have been hard for him to say if she had undressed or not.
He watched the way she moved.
Graceful, yes, but not the loose and effortless grace given to Clary by her Angelic blood. It was the careful, composed grace of discipline and a kind of pride that had nothing to do with ego.
Her words startled him out of his observation and he realised that he should have left the room. Now that he had been acknowledged, he shrugged, folded his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall, feet crossing at the ankles. "I fight demons on a daily basis and my parabatai is dating a warlock. Aliens and telekinetic powers really aren't that unusual."
Which was … stretching it a little. It worried him and the knowledge that she could simply stroll into his head if she pleased and do whatever she pleased there was unnerving (he realised that it should be more so and that it wasn't was probably more frightening than her ability to do so), but in the grand scheme of things … well, it didn't matter if he was fighting a Greater Demon from hell or mindless monstrosities from Mars.
