Adora stands from her cross-legged position quickly and unsheathes her sword, glaring at the man in front of her. She holds onto it a tight grip with her other hand balled into a fist. She didn’t know who this man was, and what he wanted, but she didn’t trust him. How did he get this far into the whispering woods without getting lost or getting killed?

He was good, too good.

“Shouldn’t you know who I was, or did your strike-commanders not tell you.”

As she drew her weapon, the glint of the sword (only wieldable by one) briefly lighting his visor, he made no movement for his own weapon, held in a holster by his side. His only reaction was to shift his stance, ready to defend himself.

“I know who you are, Adora. Better than most...although I wouldn’t expect you to remember me.”

“Tell me. Do you know where you’re from?”

There was too much following one after the other ever since the alliance and the Rebellion was formed. And the fact that she was now queen, every responsibility has started to weigh down onto Glimmer. And now having to be requested to meet with another, it only made her much more nervous. She wasn’t particularly…proper. Even if she tried, she would find one way to embarrass herself or trip over her own words. She does her best every day, especially for her mother. But most of the time…it just felt like her best wasn’t enough.

She was silent as the guards led her to the room, looking around and taking in her surroundings. If she was a princess again, she could have easily teleport out of here and met up with Bow. But even her own friends knew this was important, something she must sit through and discuss together. Especially when this woman was Queen of Eternia. Finally they stopped in front of a door, Glimmer was now meeting face to face with a smiling grown woman. At least she didn’t seem to be so…serious like other monarchs would be.

Remembering her manners, Glimmer went into a bow before she was led inside. “It…really is an honor to meet you, your highness. And yes, we do. It’s just…it’s amazing to actually meet you in person. I apologize for the delay and…of other occurrences.”

Marlena had known, in theory, that Glimmer was young, but seeing her in person hit it home just how young. The Queen of Brightmoon couldn't have been much older than Adam---Perhaps even younger. Younger than a ruler should ever be.

The bow surprised Marlena, her eyebrows raising, but she cleared her expression quickly, not wanting to make the queen uncomfortable. It was polite, but not necessary. Some rulers might have considered it a sign of weakness. From what she’d gathered, she didn’t think the young queen would let people get away with an assumption like that.

Marlena laid a hand lightly on Glimmer's arm as soon as she was done speaking. "Oh, no need to apologize, I've heard so many great things about you. Come, sit down! You didn’t have any trouble on the way here, did you?”

This vehicle—it was like some advancement of skiffs they had used in the Horde. Adora’s principle observation was that it looked much more fun to drive than the skiff, and maybe even a little bit safer. Last time she’d been on one was when they wrecked and then… The sword. Nothing had ever been the same.

“Me?” She asked, more than a bit surprised. Adora had somehow managed to listen while being lost in thought. “From Eternia?” But the incredulousness she’d meant to convey wasn’t in her voice. Because he could be—no, he wasprobably right. Or at least that was what made the most sense given their many, many similarities. Their swords couldn’t be a coincidence.

Adora sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose with two fingers. It had been a long few days and she was beginning to feel them take their toll.

“It’s definitely possible, I mean, Shadow Weaver never told me where I came from… if she even knows. And Light Hope really doesn’t like to give me any answers.”

She paused a moment before speaking again. “Are you the first, er, version of He Man, Adam? And have you ever heard of a woman named Mara?”

“Sorry, doesn’t ring a bell. All I know about is King Grayskull, he’s supposed to be the first He-man. The source of my powers.” Forget how that didn’t explain much. Grayskull seemed like a normal person, (albeit insanely strong, and about the size of a mountain). Point was, no magic or anything that could explain how he did...all of that.

Adam hadn’t questioned it at the time. Maybe he’d grown a little too used to not asking questions.

“Is Mara the source of yours? How much do you know about her?” Couldn’t be a coincidence that they both called upon the whatever of Grayskull to get their abilities.

Speaking of Grayskull, they were getting closer, probably due to Adam slamming the accelerator as far as it went. You’d better have answers, Sorceress.

With an oval table, bordered by two comfortable sofas, the room was clearly set out for tea---The only hint that this was something more official being a folder and papers stacked neatly to the side, easy to ignore. Marlena had set the room herself. There were people for that kind of thing, but rarely did others (besides Randor) get what she was going for. Too informal would be just as unnerving as the most stuffy meeting hall---Not that she could use that room. It was currently occupied by Randor and the council, currently discussing, well, everything. An entirely new planet made for a lot of argument, apparently, and the meeting had lasted three days with no signs of slowing. Marlena had her hands full as well, not only with extra-planetary policies but with….Family matters.

Adora.

God, Adora…Her daughter being alive, having been kidnapped by an AI and raised by the Horde, was a development. And she didn't have the opportunity to spend the next…several years holding her now adult child, crying, apologizing, beating Shadow Weaver (that bitch) with her crown, and….breaking.

Marlena was good at categorizing her emotions. It's why she'd lasted so long.

She sipped some tea.

There was a knock at the door---The guards signaling her. Marlena aproached the door and opened it, offering a smile.

"Queen Glimmer," Marlena greeted warmly. "Come in!”

"We have so much to talk about."
