Hilda of Lorule

     she isn’t sure, in that moment, what to make of  zelda.  for doesn’t hilda paint herself with the same brush of blame as she does those who  destroyed  the gift the goddesses bestowed onto lorule? a crime must be  PAID  for, sooner or later     perhaps, as much as she feels  saddened  at the current state of the throne room around them, and the  civilians’  torment following arduous battles, she would criticise the other princess’ apparent lack of bearing  responsibility  for the pain of the opposing side; assuming, of course, that the crime  WAS  the fault of a predecessor, and not some unknown.

     ❝ then you are  fortunate.  you and your hero must both have that same resolve. ❞   this princess’  own  determination won’t fix all the problems of lorule, and her own supposed  ❛ hero ❜  is less than helpful. but then what  can  they do, without the goddess’ blessings?   ❝ ... were these  ATTACKERS  targeting anything specific? what were their  demands? ❞

     ❝ wh... what’s  happened  here... ❞   there’s a young woman by the shore of  windfall  island, covered in a dark cloak yet she’s allowed the hood down, dark  purple  locks spilling about her shoulders as she trembles. where’s hyrule? where’s the  TRIFORCE?  falling elegantly to her knees, she bows her head.   ❝ i worked  so hard...  we all worked so hard, to get here... and... ❞   and she  can’t  find the land she seeks. hope is slipping through fingers as she  sinks  them into the grass and sand.

     eyes the colour of rubies  drift  sadly over the castle’s floor. a fight has been fought here, it seems; she can  see  evidence of it in torn material, and cracked stone.   ❝ we have both seen  destruction,  and our kingdoms in ruin. we have both been  LEADERS,  yet helpless against unavoidable events... the  avarice  of others has caused us much  pain. ❞   there’s something poetic in that     if it weren’t the case, hilda may feel more  ashamed  to compare herself to the other princess. as it is, they’re in  similar  situations.   ❝ but you... you have a hero to  restore  this land of promise. don’t you..? ❞

     ❝ i would always expect  disappointment  upon entering this land, ❞   the princess regnant begins, solemn and  SINCERE  ( this kingdom is hers; she can recognise a ruin when she’s been  raised  in one, and even her throne room is looking rather  worse  for wear ),   ❝ yet this particular reason is one i have not  heard  before. no, this is not the twilight realm... and i know of  no  such place. ❞   and now garnet eyes are narrowing in a little suspicion... and  curiosity.   ❝ where have you come from, that you accept and  ENTER  other realms so easily? you are no ordinary boy. ❞
