I love the concept of Disease X, but I’m undecided about whether or not I’d like to see it in the movie canon.
Honestly the idea of dinosaur Scrapie is quite terrifying, but it’s even more terrifying to think that people were eating the dino corpses at some point prior to tlw novel and were probably ending up with some type of dinosaur vCJD. Prion diseases aren’t exactly contagious, but they can be contracted through eating infected meat, and if all those people were really eating the washed up corpses from the beach then cases of vCJD (or at least something similar) would skyrocket.
Although, if DX was to end up in the Jurassic World movies, I do think it would make for a curious story. Say, for instance, one of the herbivores ended up with a sporadic prion disease, and then its remains were ravaged by the compys. Then all the compys would have consumed infected meat, and would likely spread it to other species that consumed them (assuming that the disease in question could jump the species barrier). Eventually the disease could make its way to humans if people were to eat infected dinosaur meat. Then you could have a whole story about the government trying to downplay the situation (like the British government did with BSE in the 90s) and a group of reporters and scientists trying to find the origin of the disease.
It would probably end up being very cliche and trope-y, but there are a lot of interesting concepts for DX if they ever do decide to adapt it.
I’m still not completely sure about whether or not I want to see it on the big screen, though.

-He was named after the first major prophet, Samuel. Though he preferred Sammy. Samuel was too formal, too neat. That wasn't him.
-He had a church group, but he struggled to connect with the other boys. They said he was gay. For a moment, Sammy believed them. But he didn't even like being a boy himself, let alone the thought of dating a boy.
-He was often excluded from everything. Too girly for the boys, too boyish for the girls.
-He was the eldest of four siblings. But because he was the only boy, he slept in the attic. He used to like having his own room, but eventually got lonely. From the moment he woke up, he would go to his younger sisters' room to hang out. One time when Sammy was 11 years old, his parents left for a couples church event . His sisters were 9, 7, and 5. Sammy of course stayed in their room to play with them. When their parents came home, they were shocked to find their son in a pretty pink and green fairy dress, messy makeup, and a headband. A bright pink headband. It was a little big, but he absolutely adored it. Mama and Daddy scolded the little girls, believeing they forced him into it, but Sammy felt this inexplicable overwhelming joy.
-His "friends" called it girly, but Sammy kept a scrapbook. Occasionally making drawings to glue to it. They weren't perfect, but it expressed how he felt. Several of those pages included a Girl. Tan skin, long curly hair, and this dress with a floral pattern scattered across the fabric. This was the girl in his dreams. But not in the way you would think. Every night, when he fell asleep, He would become this girl. Running around in a field. She felt like herself. Her true, raw self. Until he woke up. Every morning, his mother would call out, "Mijo, it's time to get ready for school!" And it would snap him back to reality. Of course it was all just a dream. It's not like you could magically become a girl.
-Sometimes, he would feel doubt. "Would God still love me if I was a girl?" He'd ask himself some nights before he slept. But one morning, he felt a burning sensation in his chest. It didn't hurt. It felt rather... Comforting. As if the Lord himself was trying to tell him something. His doubt shrunk.
-She found out the term "Transgender" from Brooklynn unboxes the world, an 11 year old girl who shared her trans experience.
-She thought that she had to be skinny to be more feminine because all the other girls told her so.
-She came out at 12, right before they moved. Her parents didn't really understand, but they tried their best. Her sisters on the other hand were SUPER HYPED. They gave her another makeoever that day.
-Sammy was excited to move out. Moving meant new friends, new school, and new her. She didn't like her old town, everyone gave her strange looks. People would probably still stare, but atleast she could be herself.
-She got her gender dysphoria diagnosis when she she was 13. Took a little while but at least it'll make things easier for her.
-Esther stone gave her gender envy. Especially in that prom dress

-On the ferry, she was a bit nervous and excited. The other girls would look at her, but not in the way that the girls in her old town would. She felt like she belonged
-"I know what you are." Brooklynn would whisper to her. They had completely different ideas of what she was.
-When nublar went down, Sammy could no longer straighten her hair. She would brush it out (dry,) making it slightly longer but frizzier. One morning, Yaz caught her right before she brushed her hair. To Yaz, she had the most beautiful curly raven locks they'd ever seen (despite it being very dirty.) "You look nice." Yaz told her. After that, Sammy stopped (dry) brushing her hair out and just let it grow. Her and Darius would ABSOLUTELY raid the hotels just to look for anything to keep their hair intact 🥀
-One night, everyone was fast asleep. Everyone but Sammy and Brooklynn. Sammy admitted that Brook helped her realize she was trans. Their bond solidified after that
-Sammy came out to Yaz while they were hanging out by the river, talking about things they would do together when they got out. Sammy got a little quiet. Of course, Yaz noticed this and asked what was wrong. "Would you still want to do that if I was trans?" At first, there was silence. Then Yaz gave Sammy a tight hug. "You're still my friend, Sammy. Nothing will change that." She reassured her. Thats all Sammy needed.
-Due to being off hormone blockers, she grows a bit of a stubble. But unfortunately, this girl is NOT good at handling razors. Yaz helps her shave. The whole time, Sammy is just staring at them with her big wet gray eyes and Yaz is trying so hard to focus #girlfaliure (from this yasammy fic go read it!!)
-Crashed out when they went to Mae's place because despite Mae having hair products, it didnt match up with her hair type. She made do with what she had 🥀

-Started E at 19. Yaz helps with her estrogen shots. Around this time, Ben and Brooklynn also started hrt, so the whole campfam went out to celebrate 🎉
-Yaz knows how forgetful sammy can be, so while theyre living together, Yaz will always remind Sammy to take her shots.
-While Brooklynn and Sammy were shopping, one of the store attendants went up to Sammy and called her "Ma'am." Her brain short circuited (out of pure joy) and Brooklynn had to shake her back into it.
-When Brooklynn died and Yaz moved away, Kenji was the one that helped her with her shots. If he could get there, he'd remind her via text or mail. Thats his sister.
-Transition effects slowed down because she hadn't been taking her shots consistently or eating proper meals. She was very worried about it.
Post ct
-Before, she didn't wear dresses because she felt she wasn't skinny enough, but now she absolutely loves dresses. She walking on the beach sand wearing a beautiful flowy dress.
-She did get a pixie cut because. I said so.
-Also yasammy concieved a kid naturally so yay!!!!
FINALLY I'm finished. This geniuenly took a week to get out of my system. Happy pride month everypuppy/kitty/pony/bunny!!! And the birds flying by!! And the fish in the sea!!!! And the dinosaurs watching!!!!! And the humans too!!!
I think Sammy being "mean" in Chaos Theory is character growth.
In Camp Cretaceous, she was easily manipulated, she let other people talk over her, and her opinions depends on what people think. This made her easy to control, easy to blackmail.
But in chaos theory? Shes learned to build walls. She asks people to listen, and her opinion isnt easily changed. Shes learned from her mistakes as a child and shes grown from it.
