We are working on some changes to the Live-Tweeting event. The times are still the same and we have added 10pm viewing times for West Coast fans so they can also participate. Feel free to do both events if you can!

Hello Havenites!

Once again thank you so much for sharing and signing the petition. I’ve seen it all over twitter. Please continue to share it not only there but also on the Haven and SyFy Facebook pages (We highly recommend the SyFy page especially.). So many people have been posting their #SaveHaven love there that may not know about it. Make sure you continue using the #savehaven tag where ever you are posting.

Also we ask that you please try and keep from posting any kind of negativity or hate in your posts. It looks mostly clean but a few angry words have been seen. We understand. We’re upset too. But try and make them positive by mentioning things like what you liked from Haven or will miss if it stays cancelled. Show SyFy how awesome we know you all are.

Now! On to the updates!

We’re pretty sure we found the correct address for a mail-in campaign (more details TBA soon) but we are waiting to see exactly who we are addressing the letters to. Also in the works are ideas on how to make the letters especially Troubled…if you catch my drift. Some of you may have seen some sneak peaks on the twitter.

Speaking of Twitter we have an official account now!

@Helpsavehaven is the official account for this campaign (but unofficially affiliated with the actual show seeing as we are not SyFy or @HavenHerald).

Something we CAN give you full details about are the upcoming livetweeting events leading up to the Season Premiere. Starting September 3rd we will be asking people to log into the SyFy website or App every Thursday at 10/9c to watch the last five episodes of 5a with us. The reason we ask you use the SyFy site/app is to help boost viewing that SyFy can see. If you do not have access please do use your own copies (Available in the States on Sept. 8th on DVD) or download from somewhere like the iTunes store. For those in Canada Showcase has all of Season 5 on the website.

We want everyone to participate in the live-tweeting if they can. Make sure to use the #SaveHaven hashtag.

Added a few pages that include current ideas for campaign efforts.

We are still in the early stages of this campaign.  I know the #savehaven hashtag has been around for a while so we are trying to build off of that idea for many of these things.

When looking at other successful campaigns it seems the people in the Chuck fandom had a very good set of ideas so some of that will be what we look at. The most important thing that will save this show is a boost in ratings and sales. Other things like a petition or a twitter campaign are nice but in the end they are not important to those in charge. The folks over at the havenherald know what I’m talking about.

To quote the guys that did the Chuck campaign

“Networks respond to numbers, especially when proceeded by $ signs, so let’s show them OUR numbers!”

Petition

The first thing we did was make a petition. I know petitions don’t always do anything to actually get a show renewed. We made this in the effort that whoever makes the decisions will see that there is still a large group of people that would love to see this show for another season. But a petition on it’s own will do nothing. So please sign if you have a moment but we really need you to help boost the ratings this fall.

A mail in campaign

Someone had the idea to do a mail in much like other great shows such as Roswell or Veronica Mars.

@LuskJade on twitter had the idea to mail in stones that look like the aether and/or ink handprints which would be following the season 4/5a plot arcs we saw. Most people I think agree that the handprint would work best.

We are currently working on finding contact information for a mail in campaign.

#SaveHaven has been the official hashtag. Please continue to use it as you watch or live tweet the upcoming episodes.

The next step is to come up with agreed upon ideas and stick to them. We don’t want to have multiple campaigns going that are all trying to do the same thing. We need to agree on what we are going to do.
