This is me… standing on the rubble of the home I once lived in.
This place held my smallest details: laughter, family gatherings, and corners I knew better than I knew the streets.
Today, nothing remains but dust and broken stones, yet somehow, the memories are still standing with me, as clear as if they were never destroyed.
I’m not standing on the ruins of a house alone…
I’m standing on a whole lifetime, on a place that once sheltered me, and has now become a witness to everything.
And despite the pain, I still believe that a person is never defeated as long as they remain standing.
Today, I was reminded of a photo I photographed it 6 years ago. I was riding in a shared taxi, the kind where strangers used to share the same car without knowing each other.
What stood out to me was that both the driver and another passenger were wearing the Palestinian koffiyah. It wasn’t a special occasion or a national event just an ordinary day.
The koffiyah, a symbol of the Palestinian people, wasn’t worn as a statement or a slogan, but as a natural part of daily life. In that quiet moment, it connected strangers without words, reminding me that identity doesn’t need an occasion to exist.
Perhaps that’s why the photo stayed with me not because it showed something extraordinary, but because it captured how a symbol can live among us simply and honestly.
Clouds give life to the sky, changing its features every moment, reminding us of the beauty of transformation and calmness and we hope tomorrow brings a beautiful change to our lives as well.
‼️A police station in Gaza has just been bombed... and there were evacuation orders issued for several areas before the attack, and there was also an evacuation order for a building near us.

In a fleeting moment, lightning split the clouded sky over Gaza, like a line of light announcing its presence amid the storm. I captured this image while the wind was raging and the rain was pounding the ground, making the sky seem as if it were releasing all the tension, anger, and beauty it carried at once.
Here, lightning is not just a natural phenomenon, but a brief moment of light in a long night a reminder that even the darkest skies are capable of flashing with light. In Gaza, every scene carries a deeper meaning, and every flash leaves its mark on the heart before the eyes.
When you are from Gaza, you learn to live with loss as if it were part of your daily life. During this brutal war, I lost my father and my brother, and I lost my home and my cat. Things that once made up my whole world vanished in a moment.
In Gaza, grief is not given enough time, as life forces you to keep going despite the brokenness. We write not to seek sympathy, but because what we live through must be told. I am from Gaza, and this pain is part of my story, but it will not be its end.
You Can help from here🤍
I am Mahmoud from Gaza.
I live in a place whose stories are not told the way they should be, and whose voice is rarely heard.
I have real stories to share… stories of fear, resilience, silent loss, and hope we struggle to hold onto despite everything.
The situation here is extremely difficult far more than what can be captured in a headline or a single image.
If you believe that stories bring people closer,
that listening can be a form of solidarity,
add me and make space for these stories to be told.
I may not change the world,
but I believe that sharing the truth is a first step.

People returned to northern Gaza after the ceasefire began faces glowing with joy, hearts filled with hope. But as I watched them return, a deep sadness washed over me…Because I no longer have a place to go back to.I envy those who found their homes still standing, even with cracked walls at least they have something to hold onto gain. As for us, we have returned only to our memories… not to our homes. DONATION LINK
